Food seems secondary, and so does cleanliness - maybe drinks are primary - no maybe getting the check paid is the most important thing to them? We got the disappointing humus-appetizer served at the same time as the main course, that is poor service. The...fish taco's had mediocre tasting fish dripping, dripping, dripping fluid out of the taco - was it water? dripping out of cole slaw or wet lettuce or something - very unappetizing. Bathroom hygiene needs to be improved. Greasy onion rings, but those are supposed to be greasy - and they were greasy. Cleanliness of dishware and serving utensils needs more attention. I didn't get the impression that they were passionate about food and passionate about the restaurant business, I think it's a great piece of real estate with a great view, and maybe it's an investment by a non-restauranteur, that I don't know, just an impression. Romantic - no way! A place to meet and chat with a friend, sure why not, as long as you just a want a beer and some onion rings I guess. The ambience was actually not too good, aside from the view of the water which is great, but the decor inside, the way the stage was set up to accept a potential band or performer - it did not exude attention to detail, there was something sloppy or thrown together about it. Sort of a frat party ambience, it wasn't rowdy or too noisy at all, but it just looked like if there were beer spilled on the floor, the ambience would be complete. The view is so spectacular that it is hard to imagine that they could still ruin the ambiance, but they managed to do it. We are not from the area and were passing through, we were visiting Washington DC going south. The water view took this from one star to two.More
