I've had Jamaican cuisine from around the world, this by far is the most costly and less authentic Jamaican food I've had the displeasure of eating. The noise volume was overwhelming. Definitely would not recommend.

I grew up in the Caribbean, so I was looking for some Caribbean food. I really really wanted roti, so I bit the $14 price. It was good enough, but not worth $14. The music was also really loud.

If you're looking for a place that really gives you a taste of the Carribean then you've found it at the Carribean Plate.

Food OK, but average entree around $20. Looks like Chipotle from outside, but pricey! Cheapest normal size entree $18.

Really good food. I had the curry chicken with rice and peas and a beef patty, both were delicious. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. I would go back.

We went here on a recomendation from our hotel after touring the National Mall for 9 hours. The food itself was ok and hot both in thermal and spice. The priceyness came from the drinks. $2.50 for a bottle of water which won't cut it...if you're even slightly thirsty before. If you want a soda it's 5 bucks and limited in selection to the creem or beer sodas. I would also recomend against the goat. While good in flavor, your meat to bone content is about a 1:1 ratio. If you are on a budget, beware; You will be spending anywhere from a minamum $25 to over $40 per person in food and drinks.More

I'm always looking for a good Jamaican restaurant when I travel and this was the closest to me in Alexandria, Virginia and it had promising reviews. Unfortunately it didn't exceed my expectations. I got the oxtail dinner plate with rice and peas, cabbage and a...side of plantains. Cost $25. I thought ohhh it must be good for this price. Got back to the hotel opened up my plate and was shocked. 5 pieces if meat. I couldn't believe it. Way too skimpy for the price I paid. I used to live in georgia and the restaurant I frequented would have the box overflowing with meat for $18. But I hoped for the best...the meat was not tender at all and tough. Seasoned ok. The sides were good. The plantains were really good. So overall this place was a let down.More

I developed a fondness for Jamaican food during a trip to Jamaica. This was only a few blocks from my hotel, so I had to try it. It's a little storefront place, nothing special for atmosphere. The menu gave me sticker shock. But I wanted...jerk chicken and thankfully it was the cheapest thing on the menu. Only $12. A lot of it was $20 and north. But then I got my plate (which took a while; the cook put a plate in the window but the girl behind the counter was preoccupied with taking other orders and it sat there a good five minutes before she noticed; unfortunately it was mine, and mostly cold). No apology or offer to redo it. It was four tiny wings. Plus the sides. Not much for $12. The chicken tasted great. It was spicey and flavorful. The peas&rice was cold and ho hum, but had some jerk seasoning sprinled on it to liven it up. The slaw had a unique, slightly sweet flavor. It wasn't typical slaw. It, at least, was supposed to be cold. Also got a mango smoothie that was too thick too drink and not too exciting. It seemed like they didn't care I was there, so I didn't feel like complaining would accomplish much. I just ate and left.More

However There are not many Caribbean places in the area to eat otherwise ...so this place has decent Caribbean food It’s kind of on the pricey side .I love the Ziggy wings and jerk chicken they charge an extra seven dollars per roti skin which...is a bit expensive with your meal ...other places have them cheaper the sorrell is a little sweet for my taste but if you love Caribbean food and you’re in the area it’s your only choice and it’s pretty decent !More
