Fun Place, Great Food, Great Service

We traveled to Utah to see our son and spend some time skiing near SLC and then on Powder mountain where we had rented a condo. We traveled with one other couple. At the recommendation of our son, the 5 of us went to the Slackwater Pizzeria. We shared the Pork Nachos (big plate for an appetizer and very flavorful) and the 3 pizzas (Italian Job, Buffalo Chicken, Grape and Gorganzola). The crusts and toppings were all excellent. Among the five of us we had several pints of beer of various varieties. All were excellent. The service (shared waiters and waitresses) was friendly and excellent. Total bill with a 20% tip was $105 and change--certainly reasonable for the quality/quantity of food and service for 5 people If you love pizza and beer and want a variety of each, Slackwater will not disappoint you.

Right on the River.

Great spot to stop by for lunch or dinner when you're in downtown Ogden. The vibe is casual, and the service is friendly. Great place to share a salad and a pizza, and the sandwiches are also very good. We always get the Check Your Garlic Breath Dip and also really like the Spin-Art Dip. Al fresco dining in the summer is very nice with as the river flows along the patio.

My Special Getaway

The Slackwater is my special getaway, great food, an unbelievable beer selection, a warm inviting atmosphere and a staff that always makes me feel at home. This time I had a light lunch of Heavenly Humus and my favorite salad, Thai Coco, delicious. Thank you Slackwater! Already thinking of what I’ll be ordering for my next visit.

Always Busy

Slackwater pizza is "the talk" of the areas North of Salt Lake City. The food is quite good but the big space for dining can get quite loud. I can't wait for the warmer weather so we can eat outside next to the stream which flows past the North side of the restaurant. I highly suggest going at off-peak times but even then there's no guarantee you won't have to wait.

Complete letdown

New location is an open space with good parking. Staff is generally friendly. Good seating options. Music is very loud over tinny speakers. Pizza is good, but crust is a little sweet for my taste. **Wings are excellent!** 2nd trip to this location: waiter unfamiliar with beer menu; we waited a long time to order after two tables seated after us; our beers were ready at the bar for so long that they were served cool not cold and almost flat; 1 of 2 pizzas was raw at center; remade pizza included a topping that I requested to be left off; waiter spent a lot of time chatting with a couple at another table, as did another server (glad they got great attention!) - we had to get up to ask another server for utensils, ask the bar for more water and to tell the server that the undesired ingredient was on the remade pizza. Tables were not half-full - not a busy enough time of day to excuse any of that behavior. Problem pizza was comped. As much as we enjoyed this place at the other location, I don’t think we’ll go back. Just too much work and too long a wait for a meal out. Management should check out those awful speakers, train staff to attend to tables in order of seating, and establish reasonable timelines for service.

WORST PIZZA ever!!

I have given this place about 5 chances. The beer is ok, but not as good as UTOG's. I have ordered everything from Pizza to sandwiches to nachos. All were not good. The pizza is the worst Pizza in Ogden, unless you like dry pizza crust with a very little toppings on it. I won't be returning now that there are several breweries in Utah that beat this place by a mile. The only thing this place has going for it is the patio.

Mariel had the California Sunrise (chicken based pizza) and it was 5 stars! I had the Tastes Like Burning pizza, it was... spicy. Duh. It was very nice. We ate outside next to the river. Some road noise and flies detracted from the enjoyment. We kept getting whiffs of cigarette smoke, but couldn't find where it was coming from. LOTS of beer available. Only one hard cider on draft... but it was really good.

Difficult Review

Not traditional pizza. Sauces are very different; good, but different. The crust is almost a bakery confection, excellent. Crust is a ten for sure! This pizza is a tad costly. There is ONE size: medium(?) like it or lump it. If you want to order a large, pick another place. This medium, perhaps as large as nearly 11 or 12 inches, costs between eleven and fifteen bucks. Again, pizza is a subjective thing. Not everybopdy has the same tastes. I liked this pizza. My wife, not so much. We shared the one stated to be the crowd favoirte. If you get that one, you had berttter LOVE avacados. Also, where do you park if the road out front is busy? Behind the bicycle shop?

Best Calzone I've had in years!

Best calzone I've had in a long, long time. The dough was divine with great flavor, the toppings were plentiful, and the portion size was huge (like a folded 10 inch pizza). We had a fairly large group of 8, service was prompt and friendly, drinks were kept full, and check was brought out in a timely manner. Great overall experience.

Average pizza. Interesting flavor combinations on the menu, which drew us to try the restaurant. The crust was really delicious - light and fluffy with a hint of sweetness. The pizzas themselves were ok. I got the This is Sparta and was disappointed to find maybe three small pieces of the sausage on the whole thing. I also asked to substitute one of the toppings with another (of the same value) but they still charged extra. However, the pizzas were cooked just right and were a good personal size, so I'd say the place is worth a try.

Great pizza and service

First time trying this place. Very large brewery/pizza place. We were seated right away and our server brought water right away. We both ordered a half house salad. You can get either half or whole. Believe me a half salad is very large. Neither of us finished it. I would hate to see the whole salad. We ordered their Italian pizza that had lots of meat, cheese and peppers. It was great and the size we ordered was perfect for two. Our server was always around checking on us and offering other services. This place is great and the food is fantastic. We will be returning next time we are in Ogden.

Great diversity of pizza with good draft beers

We were in Eden UT and had skied Snowbasin during the day. On return trip, we wanted pizza and gave Slackwater a try. We were impressed with the diversity of pizza toppings (and ability to convert any of these to calzone(. The food quality was very good; the toppings were very fresh. Not the typical greasy pizza pie. Tasty crust, good topping/fillings, and a good selection of beers. Server was helpful and friendly. Nothing rushed. Prices are reasonable, too. Three meals for $115 including 20% tip. Highly recommend Slackwater.

Excellent pizza in a convenient location

Excellent pizza and cold beer. The Iron Horse, Southern Comfort, Margherita, and Double Pepperoni were all very tasty. We had seven in our party so there was a 45 minute wait to get a table. I suspect we will be back next time we are in Ogden.

Pretty Good

We had young kids with us and the staff was great with them even when some water was spilled. It was just kind of loud for family eating. The food was good. We started with the nachos and they were delicious. We got the Iron Horse pizza and it wasn’t bad. Not the best pizza I’ve ever had but I would eat there again. Price was average.

I cannot compliment this restaurant enough! Were in town for 4 nights and ate there 2x for dinner!! Staff was kind and very efficient. All the drinks we tasted were fabulous! Sangria, mimosa and the seasonal cocktail The first night we split the wings app, seasonal brie w toasted focaccia, with a Caesar salad. The buffalo wings were some of the best we'd ever eaten! Just enough heat and cooked perfectly! Served w blue cheese.... And let me say I don't usually eat blue cheese. But this was SO GOOD. Great flavor and not too sharp. Oooh ohh!! And the seasonal peach beignets!!! That fresh cream on top.... Shew it was good!! Second night we had wings again, the Italian sandwich 🤤 so delicious! Menu doesn't state they make their own bread, but if not id be l willing to bet it was baked fresh somewhere local. ...w the soup as our side! The soup idk what to say but it was good enough that I'll be trying to replicate at home! We also ordered a salad bc we were craving some veggies but we ate almost every bite of everything but the salad lol we just ran out of room!
