We came here to try this place out this evening because we had seen an article in a magazine about the food. Started off with what nots which are stuffed mushrooms - I can honestly say those were the best mushrooms I’ve eaten in a...long time. I ordered the Better than sex chicken - sorry - didn’t live up to it’s name. The flavors of the marinade just didn’t marry well with the chicken. The chicken pieces were a bit strange. Can’t say we will be back folks, sorry!!!!More

Saw a bomb pop online for the 4th and had to try it out. Had that to drink and then got the chicken park for lunch. Huge portion and great service. Food was good but bland. Not much spice to it. However, the place the...restaurant is in as well as the value of food, I would go back.More

Lunch at Chef Point was lovely. Family of 7 enjoyed a well made meal. Busy location, but table conversations, lighting, etc. were excellent. Our waiter, Lance was well versed in the menu selections and fielded all questions without the need to “check.” I enjoyed two...mint lemonade cocktails that were well balanced mixes that were not too sweet nor over powered by the alcohol. Table appetizers were mushroom knobs, fried green tomatoes, and escargot. All were excellent! Main course was A lovely tomato based seafood soup. Shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussel. Stop in and enjoy. The food is great and the back story of how the business came to exist is an American success story.More

Unique location and excellent food. This is an upscale restaurant located at a former gas station. I like that the portions of food are just right, they don't overdo it. Best bread pudding I've ever had.

We have visited Chef point many time over the past few years because we found the food not only creative, but very good and the service always consistent. Our last 2 visit were at their new location in Colleyville off of 121. (The former location...of JR’s Grill). Although both visits were disappointing, they were not good enough to warrant a positive review and not bad enough to warrant a negative review. This all change with our most recent visit. We decided to go back to the original location Since our last 2 visits were just not what we had come to expect from Chef Point. This visit completely changed our view and to say our visit was bad is an understatement. We were celebrating our sons 24th birthday and he couldn’t wait to try the Ultimate Bloody Mary. He did eat all of the food, but he said none of it was anything he would ever order again. He also said the bacon was “sad” it was cold, soggy and tasteless. The Bloody Mary on the other hand was not good and it was left untouched. My wife and I both had the Pineapple Upside Down Martini and while it looked great and the initial taste was good, it had a very bitter finish. In fairness, our server was very friendly helpful and observant. Having said that, The meal was all down hill. Our son ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese and it was the only palatable dish served. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken which was highlighted on DDD. My wife said they should have called it “Chicken surprise” as the chicken was supposed to be stuffed with cheese and when she finally found a tiny piece of cheese she said: “Surprise”, I found the cheese. The stuffing also had a very strange texture, it didn’t taste like tuna fish, but that was exactly what the texture was like. The chicken was also swimming in a white sauce that I am pretty certain was just Alfredo sauce. I ordered the Chicken Piccata. I know what chicken piccata is supposed to be and this dish did not resemble Piccata in any way. Their were 2 very thick chicken breasts that had not been pounded or even cut to be thin. The Chicken was also covered in the same white sauce as my wife’s chicken. Again, I am pretty sure it was just a basic Alfredo sauce. Piccata sauce is usually light and capers are typically visible sitting on top. After dissecting the dish, I do believe I identified that there were capers in the sauce, but you could not see them in the heavy creamy sauce and there was also absolutely no lemon flavor. On a positive note, our server noticed that I had not eaten what they claimed was chicken Piccata and he asked if there was something wrong. I explained that it was not what I was expecting and he immediately offered to get me something else. I told him that I was fine and that he didn’t need to do anything, but that we were ready for the check. He took the dish and when he came back to the table he said he had spoke to the manager and she told him to take the dish off of the bill. Candidly, I saw him speaking to the manager and I was a bit disappointed that she made no effort to come to the table, accept ownership or personally apologize. This restaurant had a great story and we loved coming here, but based on our experience Sunday January 31st and the reviews I have been reading, they have clearly lost their way. Unfortunately, we have now removed Chef Point from our list of go too eateries. I only hope the Chef/owners get their head back in the game before it is too late.More

Went Sat night 7/11 . WIfe ordered better than sex fried chicken and I had Fettuccine Alfredo with added chicken. We shared cheese sticks for an appetizer. This was my 3rd time there to eat and previous meals had been excellent. The cheese sticks were...really good, my wifes fried chicken was excellent. So I was deeply disappointed when I bit into my Chicken Alfredo and the chicken had the texture and taste of an eraser. Just terrible. Angela our waitress was attentive, nothing wrong with the service at all. When she saw that I had barely eaten it and didn't want a to go box. She asked about it and I told her what was wrong with it. She quickly said that she would take it off of our ticket which I appreciated. I know not everyone has a bad night occasionally but it was most disappointing that the manager didn't come by the table to offer any apologies. It was as if he/she didn't really care about our dining experience. I may give them another chance because I have had really good food there, I just wont be so quick to recommend them as I have before. IDK maybe its covids fault.More

Ever since I saw your story on the local news and Diners Drive-Ins, and Dives, I’ve been wanting to eat at Chef Point. Finally got my chance. My daughter and I met there for lunch. Disappointed would be putting it mildly. We ordered ceasar salads,...stuffed mushrooms, both had the “better then sex fried chicken”, and she had the bread pudding. The salads were overdressed with large granules of black pepper dotting the salad. The mushrooms were decent, take away the oily breadcrumbs that were floating on top of the butter/oil, which lacked flavor and the small piece of american cheese that topped off the stuffing. Both our portions of fried chicken were very small (4-6oz) and over cooked to the point that the edges of breast meat were like jerky. The roasted potatoes were more like boiled and tossed in a sauce but definitely not roasted. I ask to not have my seasonal vegetables overcooked. There was zero broccoli in the mix after I was told it came with it. The squash, zucchini, and cauliflower were soft as hot butter. The bread pudding was very dense and the consistency as like wet paper stacked together and not hot in the middle. The sauce was more like pancake syrup than cognac sauce. As a foodie, I’ve had and expect better. Can’t say that I’ll be back or that I’d recommend this to my followersMore

This past Sunday my friend and I decided to get the Chicken Scampi to go as it is a plate we have both enjoyed before. The ordering and curbside to go went off without a hitch, however, about 90 minutes after eating the plates both...of us got really sick. I have no idea what exact ingredient it could have been and we had only had coffee that morning so it couldn't have been anything else as it was our first meal of the day. Unfortunately I will never visit Chef Point again.More

This was our first visit invited by friends. I ordered the Maple Duck w/Angel hair pasta and it was delicious. Shanna, our server, was amazing, very personable & attentive. We really enjoyed three of their appetizers, the “what nots” were the best! The nachos were...amazing.More
