Our family has been here like 10 times as a group and individually more like 20 over the last 2 years . The food is great , service is very friendly and you can tell this is a family based restaurant. It is a tiny space so if you have a big party expect to have a big wait .i would recommend trying this gem as a small group or individually. They have a huge menu and everything is made to order . They have the best chicken fried steak and it’s a monster size Yum -Portions are generous and the atmosphere relaxed . Prices are fair and it’s also BYOB ! Most have to wait outside for their name to be called . I don’t recommend for first timers with elderly members to try this on a Sunday. It is busy but so worth the wait ! Free coffee cup on your first visit ! You need to mention that and also the coffee here is good - not a watered down brew . There isn’t much room at the tables so try to enjoy the closeness of a home town family restaurant! We do :)

Easy to find, from IH30 take Dalrock Road exit north for Rowlett, Texas, about 3 miles, the red color Diner sits along west side. Plenty of parking, RV's, and towing too! Interior might be busy, benches on the front porch are for our friends willing to wait for their table. Inside, a retro Americana 50's decor, with James Dean, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr and other decor. Front and center is a tall glass desserts cooler, with pies, cakes, and more. Texas Waffle is the shape of Texas, and covers the whole plate. Many types of breakfasts here, including a Greek omelet! Lunch has many American favorites, and a couple of Greek favorites are represented also. You will get full, whichever dish you choose.

Small diner with great food and excellent service. Very clean with dividers between booths. Breakfast all day, variety of food choices, excellent gyros. We got the chili cheese fries, chicken fried steak, and gyros. All were fabulous. Good sized portions. The gyro dinner came with a petite salad that seemed large and had plenty of feta. Turnip greens were great. Picture is of some of our empty plates! We were all happy and full but managed dessert. The banana pudding has a bit of the packaged taste but was good. Chocolate mousse cake was a huge favorite. We are visiting from out of town and will eat here the next time we visit.

After church, breakfast calls for this family so Mr Google provided this new place for us to get our morning chow. Due to Rona, you need to stay in your car and the host will call you to let you know when your table is ready. As you enter, you can see that it's a retro style Diner. It's attractive yet challenging for a family of 5 to sit and enjoy a meal. We ordered the traditional omelet, pancakes, waffles etc. The customer service was effective and positive. The meal arrived quick yet a bit of a let down after we waited for a while. The omelet had nothing out of ordinary taste along with the other items. The pancakes were heavy and thick consistency not light and fluffy. The side of onion rings brought some taste to the meal. We paid $49 for a meal that lacked some zest especially for a Diner that looks like it's been around. I'll try again yet no time soon.

Went for Saturday breakfast at 10. It was 10 minutes for the waitress to bring the menus and another 10 for our Drinks we ordered and then waited 30 minutes for the food.. The good had apparently been setting under a heat lamp for a while as the eggs were dryer out and the pancakes were also. Not impressed with the food nothing special about it at all and over priced for breakfast for sure! I’m sorry to say I will not return.

The problem with this diner is not the food, its fine. Its the sardine like atmosphere, Tiny tables and tiny booths, even an average sized person has a time squeezing into one of them. If you have claustrophobia I don't recommend it either. Too bad they couldn't have bought a large piece of property to accommodate not only a larger area inside but more parking outside. On peak hours there is no place to park unless you want to walk awhile and be ready to stand in line, in Texas summer not a great place to go.

Nothing special, and tight seating. My last meal here included gravy, which was just corn starch and water with a little brown food coloring. Completely tasteless. And my dinner roll was hard as a rock. I dislike the sardine-like seating inside. Too bad. It had potential at one time. I doubt I’ll return.

Very nostalgic and comfortable. Small quaint and excellent food served by very attentive wait staff. I take my family and friends there A.O.A.P.!@@! The breakfast menu is bountiful, the lunch and dinner just great choices and filling! Pie for dessert! Its a Diner that should be an example for great dining with a home town air.

Best breakfast in Rowlett, love the skillets, hash browns, and french toast. The chicken fried steak is great also.

Small but very efficient with an excellent wait staff, food quality and portion size AND no one got upset with substitutions to the set menu (like no potatoes but fruit instead). Have been back multiple times even though it is about 30 minutes away from Mass on Sundays for us and plan on continuing to return in the future Hard to find a place that satisfies both me and my bride for breakfast almost anywhere we go, but finding one close to home in Sunnyvale is a blessing.

I am in town for the holidays and decided to dine here while family slept in. Not a bad little diner, the service was nice which made up for the average food. I had pancakes and eggs which was just average.

I don't want to eat where there are dogs especially in a restaurant. Aide dogs are fine..they serve a purpose..won't go back and eat with animals.

I got the chicken and dumplings. Very good, portion could be a little larger tho. Place was clean, service good, even tho it was busy. The banana pudding let me down some. Although good, the pudding tasted somewhat commercial and not homemade. (my mom spoiled me as NO one compares to her desserts) but can't give something a 5/5 unless it's super close to hers. Other desserts also looked good. I look forward to going back and trying different foods/desserts.

Cute diner. Food is wonderful, always hot and fresh. Staff is pleasant and helpful. May have to wait a little bit for table at lunch time, but it's worth it.
