Wish I could say that I loved this place unreservedly, but the atmosphere is real small town Texas. Food is OK, but not the real reason to come. Only open for lunch, dinner. When live music is on tap, make a reservation, as tables go quickly. For the real deal, and not a mock up, this is it!

What a great trip to the country to visit Cele's store. Don't let the outside fool you - the place isn't an abandoned old building. Yes, it's old, but inside you'll find some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet working there. The inside is like a time warp to the last century. Really good BBQ at reasonable prices, too. Will be back!

These folks go out of their way to make our evening and company party fun. The food included chicken, ribs, brisket last night for us. We love going out there some Friday nights for a regular BBQ meal and maybe, if we are lucky, it will be band night! This family loves what they do for the community and we love them! This is out in the country outside of Pflugerville - its a couple miles from Kelly Lane and Weiss lane. The address is Manor but I call that Pflugerville! From TX 130 - take Kelly lane and go till it 4 way stops - turn left on Weiss Lane and then turn right on Cele Road - go a couple miles to where Cele Rd and Cameron Road meet - turn right and its right there. Old store - take a trip -its worth it.

This is a treasure out in what used to be the middle of no-where but now, civilization is getting pretty close. This is family friendly, bring your kids and let them run around, dance and enjoy! The BBQ includes brisket, ribs, sausage and comes with bread, cheese, pickles! There is chicken if you call ahead and ask but it isn't usually a part of the meal here. NO sides available so bring your own. They have cold beer and will welcome you with one when you come in! A gathering spot for our family for 23 years now. Their bbq is wonderful - the place is wonderful and the hospitality is wonderful! Do yourself a favor and take a little drive outside of Pflugerville - out toward Richland Hall and visit Cele Store before civilization gets the best of it. Call ahead and tell them you are coming so they fix enough! CASH ONLY

I hoped nobody else would find this place. I was an adjuster for years and when I would get back to TX, I would gather the family and head out to Cele Store. It was truly a " Homecoming". I love going there in the dead of winter, the pot belly stove is fired up warming the room of friendly folks. Don't let the weathered exterior scare ya, that's normal for great TX BBQ. Brass tacks menu, meat, sauce in a cup, cheese sticks and jalapenos! I gotta admit, I'm kinda bummed this place made the list...it was my special secret BBQ place I would only tell folks I REALLY liked about. If your from California...stay away...no " gluten free" here!

Their BBQ has been the best in the area. The meat is cooked on the same old pit for years and years and years. And you can tell, because the flavor is so damn good. Love having all those ribs, sausage and brisket served in a large butchers paper with bread, onions, pickles and cheese and jalapenos. And you can bring more sides in and wine. They serve cold beer at a very reasonable price. No hard liquor. You can bring in your hard liquor, but then you buy the mixers from them at another reasonable price. They have this wonderful homemade BBQ sauce that they have not given out. People eat it with crackers before the food comes out. Their staff are unbelieveable.....right on it all the time. You have to call to make reservations for Friday night. You can call by Tuesday if you want a whole chicken also BBQ'd. I recommend it. They take cash only...so take plenty! The store has uneven floors. Ask the bartender about all the films that have been made there.

Cele Store is a classic Texas country BBQ joint. It is meat only, no sides. You have to bring your own slaw and beans. The ambience is the type that cannot be manufactured. Everyone knows each other and is very friendly. Four or five movies have been shot using the store as a set. My wife and I went on Friday nite. It was near empty at 630 PM, full at 7:30 when the band started. We ate and had a couple of beers and the tab was around $40, before tip. The ribs were excellent and the brisket was good. The food is nothing extraordinary for Texas BBQ, but in combination with the atmosphere, it was a great nite out. The service was excellent. Cele is located just east of Pflugerville (or NE of Austin).

Historic general store building now used as a BBQ restaurant. Call ahead for reservations. And bring with you the fixing you may need, kind of like a picnic with Cele's providing a table, water, BBQ and bread. They encourage you to bring potato salad, etc. A delicious selections of meats are provided for your choice. Unique experience. Some of the floor boards are a little shaky. And they have a few historice items to see.

LOVED talking to the gentleman behind the bar and other locals. The beer was ICE cold !! The little store had all kinds of neat displays and the barkeep had wonderful stories about the history of the place. He told us it had been in his wife's family for years. We went back for BBQ later in the fall - EXCELLENT !! Just call to make your table "reservation" - it's to be sure they prepare enough food. There's good music on wk end evenings also. FUN place to visit.

This place is out in the middle of nowhere and who knew. We came all the way from Florida with friends, who this was the only place they could talk about. It was amazing. Never thought you could step back in time, but, you do there. Reminds me of old family reunions, everyone knows you, no menus, great music and it was packed. You have to have reservations. Loved it! Plus, they do not serve sides, you can bring your sides with you.

We visited the Cele Store with several friends of a bridal party. What can I say? Wow! The place looks almost abandoned from the outside. And then you go inside, listen to wonderful live music and taste some of the best brisket, sausage, and ribs you will find in Texas. I'm not an expert in Texas BBQ by any means...but I know what tastes great. The BBQ is served on sheets of wax paper with pickles, bread, and cheese. Add a couple of beers and how can you go wrong. My personal favorite?....the brisket of course. It's smoked with just salt and paper....delicious! Don't forget the history of this wonderful BBQ joint. It's been the location of several movies including Secondhand Lions and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Ya gotta go if you're in the Austin area....but call for reservations!

I've been getting BBQ from this place for 20 years! And its really, really good. Don't expect anything fancy - this is what the original Rudys would have been like 40 years ago; and old country store turned BBQ joint and the building and furnishings haven't changed. It was closed for a bit but recently reopened by one of the siblings of the original owner. There are no sides here - no slaw - no potato salad - just meat, cheese, onions and pickles - all served on butcher paper. Reservations are recommended as its a small place and surprisingly they accept them. If you have friends in town this will be the place to take them!

How can i say love???? This place is true family love. It has such a history....goes back to a watering hole for the farming community of Richland...right outside of Pflugerville...back to the 50's and BBQ on the weekends! We love the BBQ here on Friday nights. Ribs, brisquet, sausage, cheese, pickles, peppers, bread and bbq sauce. Yum yum. Oh yes....lots of cervesa! Perfect Friday night. They now have bands a couple of Fridays per month...website is www.celestore.com and that is so much fun!!!! Cele Store is in Cele - its address is Manor but it's in the little blink of an eye town called Cele. It is about three miles out in the sticks from Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville. It is true love. Our kids have grown up here. Best of all worlds- run around the place, eat, drink and be merry! Try them out, but give them a call first and tell them you are coming....so they'll cook enough so you can eat!
