Being an iconic restaurant, it was neat to see the various mementos in the restaurant from years past. The food was not bad, but it didn’t meet the expectations of the hype. My husband’s tile fish was just ok and lacked flavor. I had the...More

I had not dined here in many years. My family dined here frequently over 50 years ago. After eating here again I can honestly say that it is still the Grand Dame for fine seafood dining in the Galveston area. Our young waiter, Alexander, eagerly...More

This place has been here a long time. Call ahead for reservations. I had my annual dose of oysters, both fried and half-shell. My wife had shrimp. Both were good, but not world class. In fact, my fried oysters were rather small, and average in...More

All of the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We started with the crab cakes and then I had the crab stuffed shrimp and my husband had the red snapper. All of the dishes came in good-sized portions. The crab stuffed shrimp was...More

Yes the restaurant is 106 years old and they are proud of that longevity but time to remodel. They boast a view of the sea, but it’s a view of the sea past the parking lot. Ordered a cocktail and it was so watered down...More

Visited New Year’s Eve with large family. Ordered fettuccine. Large hefty serving, pasta was overcooked, sauce was thick and mucky. Tasted bland. Ordered fried shrimp for kids, they’ve tasted better at Joe’s Crab Shack. No kids menus, in spite of the fact that there were...More

We frequented Guido’s back in the 70s & 80s - when in Galveston we always ate there. The food is still as good - oysters and soft shell crab were great. Learned a fact from the past from Manager Chris - back in the early...More

I did not see a child's menu. But the wait staff was very helpful. I am sure they will accommodate your granddaughter.

The toast of the Texas coast. How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.
