This was our second visit as we were last hear approximately 1 year ago. The food and experience were not as good as our prior visit. There is little value as the cost is quite prohibitive. My lamb, although interestingly seasoned, was fatty and not...as tender as expected. We were not given an opportunity to sit inside and were seated in the rear (outside) in 90 degree heat. Overall, not what we expected.More

Nice restaurant with great food, drinks and very nice staff. Walking distance from many hotels. We arrived about 20 mins before closing but they took us in without any issues.

Went here tonight for a "significant" birthday for my wife. We'd never been but had heard good things and have really enjoyed other Tim Love restaurants. There is no obvious parking but the valet stand was right out front, so we did that. $15 +...tip. We had a reservation for 6pm. When we got there, we only saw people at one other table and wondered if the reservation was necessary, but it quickly started filling up and by 7pm, it was packed. The restaurant is very dark. To the point that we needed flashlights to read the menu. Little too dark IMO. And while we could converse when we got there, by 7pm it was so loud that we were having trouble hearing each other. The service was excellent. The servers cover really well for each other and if anyone saw that we needed drinks, plates cleared or anything at all, they quickly took care of it. They had a large selection of cocktails and about a 22-page wine list. We skipped the wine but my wife and daughter each tried a couple of cocktails. Although they liked some better than others, they thought everything they had was very good. We started with the Black Buck, Pork Belly, Blueberries and Black Garlic Fettine. Don't bother with the fettines. It's a waste of money. Very dry and no flavor whatsoever. Then we had the Rabbit-Rattlesnake Sausage, Manchego Rosti and Crème Fraiche. Quite possibly the best single bite I had all night. So much flavor! And we should have tried the Blue Corn-Lobster Hushpuppies with Smoked Tomato Butter or the Elk-Foie Gras Sliders with Blueberry Jam instead of the fettine. For dinner, the girls had the Roasted Garlic Stuffed Beef Tenderloin, Western Plaid Hash and Grilled Asparagus. They got the 9oz serving so they'd have enough for a take home meal. They both loved it. My daughter thought the steak was a bit tough and I understood what she meant when I tried a bite, but it really wasn't tough. It was more like not quite melt in your mouth. She thought the hash was incredible and ate every bite. I had the Berkshire Pork Chop (singular even though the menu says Pork Chops), Wild Boar Grits and Crispy Onions. it was easily the best pork chop I've ever had. Thick, moist, loads of flavor (some of which came from the grits which you will love even if you don't love grits). I actually picked up the bone at the end just to make sure I got every bite off of it. For dessert we all split the Warm Ancho Chile Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Smoked Almond Brittle which they served in a special way for my wife's birthday. I was told this was a dish Tim Love prepared when he defeated Iron Chef Morimoto back in 2007. It was quite good. The chocolate was almost too strong but eaten with a dab of the incredible vanilla ice cream was just perfect. The bill ran $315 before tip which was not unexpected. This is fine dining, and it was for a very special occasion. We had a wonderful time, and for such an occasion, I would highly recommend Lonesome Dove Western Bistro.More

I dare you to find something that isn’t to-die-for on this menu. From start to finish it was exceptional. We enjoyed elk sliders, garlic beef tenderloin, chicken fried steak and churros. Spicy margs are also perfection. The flavors and meticulous preparation coupled with the totally...unfussy staff and decor just brought it all together and let the food take the main stage. Enthusiastically 10/10!More

A must visit in Fort Worth. Diverse appetizers. Boar ribs fall off the bone. My husband had the bison steak. It was cooked perfectly. I had the chicken fried steak. We would definitely recommend this place. We were staying at the Hotel Drover, which was...close enough to walk to the restaurant .More

My husband I went here during our staycation honeymoon at Hotel Drover and it was an easy walk in the stockyards. We could not have chosen a better dinner for our final night of our honeymoon. Every dish is incredible and made from scratch (except...King's Hawaiian rolls on the elk sliders). Our waiter, Stevhan, was so great and informative. We felt celebrated the entire night and received complimentary churros. My husband is a big steak guy, and he said the Bison steak was the best steak he has ever had by far. It was so romantic and we are excited to come back for more celebrations!More

The entry doors look unassuming but once you pass through you walk into a unique experience. The atmosphere is western yet the food and drink are 5 star! Make reservations. Pricy but worth it. Steak and game perfectly prepared by chef. Definitely go. The food...and atmosphere compensated for server who was nice but not attentive. We will go back when in area.More

We recently dined there with 34 of our friends and family who were visiting from Denver, Colorado! We dined on the patio and they opened the doors to the restaurant, which made it for a very fun lively evening. The food was really good, especially...the elk sliders. Even our lone vegetarian found dishes she liked. The food and setting were fantastic but I cannot say enough about the amazing staff at lonesome dove. They were very attentive to all of our needs with such a large group, and they were great with securing a reservation and modifying as we needed. They went above and beyond when it came to payments with our large group. They are a top-notch group of people! All of our friends from Denver are still raving about the evening, thank you, Lonesome Dove!More

Our server Adam made our experience more memorable. He was friendly, helpful and gave great suggestions on food without being pushy. Tim Love is the chef/owner. He’s been on many tv shows and competitions. His food is tasty, unique and really good. One item on...the dessert menu won him his Iron Chef win. The warm Ancho Chile chocolate cake. It’s not your typical cake it’s more of a soft not fluffy cake. With the vanilla ice cream, it’s awesome. We enjoyed the elk sliders, rattlesnake/rabbit sausage, blue corn lobster hush puppies, baby kale salad, Brussel sprouts and the elk loin which was over the top delicious,More

Overall, the restaurant is amazing and worth the somewhat high prices. My family enjoyed the service, meal (rabbit / rattlesnake sausage, elk, rabbit ravioli, lamb chops & extraordinary chocolate lava cake) and dining experience. The only drawback was the extensive crowd noise and excessively dark...dining environment ( which has been previously documented in other reviews). When I return to Fort Worth, I'll be back!More

So my wife is a total foodie, she's converted me over time and we keep a list of our top 5 restaurants. Before coming here is was Amalfi by Bobby Flay in Las Vegas LD's blew it out of the water. Our server Stevhan was...very knowledgeable and great, I truly can't say enough good things about this place. Things we got that we HAVE to recommend: Bluebonnet and Texas Sunrise cocktails Elk fois gras, deviled crab cakes for the first course Beef Tenderloin (me), pork chop (wife) And the churros! I did flan and it was great but my wife got churros and we should have doubled. Tim Love is a genius, Adam the GM was very attentive as well!More
