The restaurant is centrally located to all of the fun in the Stockyards. The lunch menu has an amazing number of offerings and you can get everything from salad to steaks and sandwiches to ribs. The service we had was nice and attentive. I would dine there again. Strongly recommend in advance dinner reservations. Called 24-hours in advance for dinner and they could only give us 3pm or 9:30pm.

We watched the Cattle movement at 11:30 am and of course hungry .... lots of food to choose from and of course if you’re watching cattle it takes you to steak. I ended up getting the lunch time ribs (3 piece) and a side of grilled corn....$9.95 and yum ! The pulled pork sandwich was yummy also with fries ! I would recommend for the atmosphere and great tasting food at a affordable price !

Awesome Food and Ambiance! Every single dish we had was outstanding from the beef tenderloin signature steak to sausage and pork ribs and steak and enchiladas. The sides were delicious and the baked potato was the best ever. We all very much enjoyed our meals and the fresh bread was wonderful. We went back this morning for breakfast. I had the fresh granola and bacon and my boys had eggs, sausage, ham , hash browns and biscuits with sausage gravy. The meats are highest quality and everything is expertly prepared and served. We could eat every meal here. Service is great as well. Staff was very accommodating. Can’t say enough good about this restaurant. Sure wish we had this quality in Houston.

Been several years since we've been here, due to cost, but was celebrating retirement and ended up somewhat disapointed. My husband's food, although tasted good, was not hot. For the cost of the meal, I would have thought the salad would not have been mainly iceberg lettuce in a plastic bowl; the butter for our bread was even in a plastic cup.? $60 later, not sure if we'll be back or refer to others.

We have eaten here a few times over the years and liked its quirky nature and we had always found the steaks good. It was very noticeable that the whole Stockyards area had become even more of a tourist trap since our last visit, and the H3 Ranch was no exception. The restaurant was extremely busy. My wife and I both ordered a salad followed by the prime rib. The salads were OK but my prime rib was not up to the standard of previous visits. I was lucky, my wife’s prime rib was served red, raw and impossible to cut. It was totally inedible. The excuse offered by the restaurant was that they had run out of the prime rib that my wife ordered and the inedible steak that they had provided was (in their view) the nearest alternative. Prime rib is tender and easy to cut so how the restaurant staff came to the conclusion that what they provided was a alternative is unfathomable. What was once a quirky restaurant serving good steaks has become a tourist trap serving bad food. Avoid if possible.

We got there and they were closing early because of the city curfew. And they had recently opened up after the COVID-19 shut down so tables were spread out. The people were friendly but I really don’t think our waiter wanted us there for some reason. The server gave us a lunch menu when we needed a dinner menu. And the waiter never did bring out a dinner menu for like 10 minutes so that was a waste of time. The ribs were kind of dry, the corn was really cool looking and tasty. My husband the cowboy beans were really tasty. The waiter never brought out any bread like other tables around us received . Like I said I don’t think he really wanted to be there or wait on tables. When our meal was finished he just asked if we wanted to check and didn’t mention desserts until we inquired . I would not go back but it was a cool looking cowboy themed restaurant.

Was super excited to go here but so disappointed. Server seemed irritated when he came to get our drink order and I asked him to come back when the rest of our party was out of the bathroom ( um why would I want to order when the other were obviously not there). Servers level of attention to us was all downhill after that. He didn’t welcome us, didn’t tell us anything about menu or ask if we had questions. When we asked what we on a baked potato he said “I’ll bring it to the table and put it on” (so that doesn’t answer my question). Fillet cut was horrible, ate half to be polite to my guests but had no flavor. Other position of fillet appeared pre-chewed, unable to cut through due to lumpy fat. My friend ordered a beer and hated the flavor so this giant goblet of beer sat throughout the dinner and server never asked if she liked it or would prefer something else (beer selection was his recommendation). No refills on water or bread offered. Overall a bitter end to a fabulous trip. Too pricey for crappy flavorless food and sub par service. There’s so many other options, don’t waste your time or money here, you’ll regret it.

Service was great but the food was lacking. We had the smoked sirloin and half rack riba with a starter of queso and salsa combination. The chips were cooked in overused oil resulting in a bad taste. They did bring out another basket of chips which was somewhat better but not worthy of a $12 starter. The ribs were excellent but if you are not a fan of vinegar BBQ sauce do not order as there is no other choice. The creamed spinich was highly lacking. It was raw spinich leaves with some sort of cheese sauce on top but not a creamed spinich. Baked beans were excellent. The smoked sirloin left something to be desired. There were 3 slices and I only ate half of one slice. The meat was tough and flavorless. The baked potato was good. The corn with sausage was good. For a $71 meal with no alcohol included this was a disappointment.

We visited H-3 Steak House the day after Christmas and were very disappointed in the food. I ordered the smoked steak which was supposed to be marvelous and found it to be all grizzle. The corn was dry as though it had been cooking all day long. My husband had rice with his meal which was dry and very much over-spiced. The restaurant is very overpriced, but given it's the Stockyards we were willing to pay the $30-$50 for a steak dinner. However, two days later we ate at Texas Roadhouse and I can tell you for less than half the price, the steak was amazingly better, veggies were fresh and service was great. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Unless you're ordering standard eggs, biscuits, bacon, etc. skip the brunch menu. Eggs benedict plate was not good with tiny eggs, little to no suace, small English muffins, and chevy ham. Others in the group ordered huevos rancheros and did not like their food either. There is one standout on the regular menu and that is the burnt ends. These are fantastic and if you are a beef lover be sure to order. As with everything in the area super touristy and overpriced.

Very good food and excellent service. My catfish was fresh and nicely cooked and presented and hubby's 16 oz. Cattlebaron cut steak was done just the way he likes it. definitely deserves the Trip Advisor ratings that helped us decide to eat at H-3 Ranch.

We arrived about 715 and was told it would be a 20 minute wait but it was only about 8 minutes. We got the chicken fried steak with skillet potatoes and creamed corn. We had to ask for bread that we saw other tables getting. I'm not sure what's in that bread but it's frigging awesome. The steak is pretty good but the creamed corn and skillet potatoes are very good. I would definitely go back and try something else.

We ate an early lunch mid week while visiting the Stockyards. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Food arrived in a timely fashion and each guest was happy with their dish. I personally had the burnt ends and they were tender and delicious. I’d definitely order again. Cool bar area that we plan to visit when we don’t have company with children.

Went in today for the first time because of a recommendation from my son and daughter in law. Ordered the burnt ends and ribs. The burnt ends were so tough that they were inedible. The ribs were dry, over cooked but the rib rub was tasty. It really disappointed us that we can get much better smoked meats in Oregon. Based on some other recent reviews, I would be cautious to recommend H3 until some changes are made. The only reason for the two star review is because the server was great and very apologetic. Don

My wife and I like to visit upscale restaurants on special occasions, so we made reservations here to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. Glad we did because the wait was 45 minutes without one. We wanted to try the ribs appetizer but they were out. Our entrees were the Mexicali, steak medium with a baked potato side and a 12 ounce rib eye, medium with skillet potatoes. Both came with a small salad. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. The enchiladas and refried beans were great but my skillet potatoes were overcooked so I asked our server to have the kitchen make another order, which were much better. Decor is pure Texas. Service was adequate. Highlight of the visit was when a cowboy gave us two season tickets to the Stock Show grounds. We will be back to celebrate on another special occasion.
