The Babester and I are on a quest to discover little out of the way places like this. She had the Smoked Garlic, Jalapeno, Bacon Cheeseburger; I had the Sliced Brisket Sandwich and we both had their homemade chips. Fried Okra was our appetizer. Mel's...pretty picky about her hamburgers, but she said this was probably "the best burger" she's ever had several "OMG, OMG this is sooo good!!! You have to taste it!"
My sandwich was really good, the brisket was not over smoked, was tender with a nice "bark" on it. Served on Texas Toast with just a dab of BBQ Sauce.
The only negative was their limited assortment of beers. If you like the "Big 6" you will be fine. I would suggest some Texas Craft Beers on tap.
All in all it was a very delightful experience. The staff was busy, but still attentive. The food was served in a timely manner and the restaurant has a nice vibe. Next time our Sunday Motorcycle ride takes us up that way, we will have to stop by again.More
Building in right on the courthouse square with very parking that is free. You can either eat up stairs or down. Location has a very rustic feel but modern as well. Menu is typical bar food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the...tenderloin sliders and Cuban sandwich. Both were delicious and the presentation was nice. The fried pickles were excellent!! We dined upstairs but I did not see an elevator.More
Stopped in for dinner and it’s inside a cool old building at the Town Square thats centered around a beautiful 1896 County Courthouse building thats surrounded by all old buildings.
Friendly service greeted us which is always nice. We were recommended the Brisket Burger which...my wife had and I got the pit Sandwich which was a couple different meats piled high on toasted bread. All in all it was good. We love eating at these rustic hole in the wall places.
We’ll be back to try more !More
We went there today for lunch for the first time We were seated next to the bar somewhat in the corner. The person working the bar came and asked what we wanted to drink. When he brought the incorrect drink and was told he began...to argue with us about it. I told him I wanted the check so I could pay it and we were leaving. He brings a cash register slip for $7.60 for two small bottles of root beer. I asked for the manager and paid her $8 as we walked out. She did offer to give me the $8 back but I told her no and we would not be back. All the positive reviews must be from people going there to attend the bar.More
We were here for a late lunch on the weekend and our waitress was exceptional. She recommended the brisket burger, which we split. We also got the southern comfort salad that had fried okra on it. Both were delicious! We got a blackberry cobbler to...go and it was delicious as well.More
Rooster Roadhouse exceeded expectations with delicious food and friendly service.
Outstanding BBQ and other delights, served in a welcoming Texas atmosphere. The bar features local brews and a wide choice of other libations. This is exactly what an establishment named Rooster Roadhouse should be. There...are games and pool upstairs.
Have some fun while you savor terrific Texas BBQ.More
We decided to go to this establishment because a local diner was closed on a Sunday. Well, we had to seat ourselves without knowing we needed to. Our waitress was kind, but brought water instead of tea because they were out instead of asking what...the customer would want to substitute. Dinner was decent, but the nachos were lacking cheese, and my dessert was basically cream cheese and sugar mixed together in a cup with coconut on top. It was not an enjoyable eating experience.More
