FULL SERVICE Mexican Restaurant

Sombrero's is the ONLY Mexican Restaurant in Center, TX. which has a liquor license. I find that very surprising! Why Not? I have passed a half-dozen or so of the other Mexican Restaurants in town, and have seen busy parking lots. But knowing that I cannot get a Dos Equis or 'real" Margarita along with my meal has kept me away. The food at Sombrero's is average "anywhere USA" Mexican food. I was a bit surprised that this area of Texas did not provide more. Since I am currently working and living in the area, I will continue to go back to Sombrero's. I wish they had some sort of Carne Asada Steak Dish. . . but when I tried to order something similar, it came out chopped into pieces. Their Enchiladas are quite acceptable. Very nice, and accommodating staff. . . and clean!!

Better places to eat

We arrived late in the evening. I have to say that our waitress was very nice. However, the food was very average and the place could stand some cleaning. Also, the toilet in the women’s restroom had the handle on the floor. Who is monitoring these things? I would have liked it if my food had come out hot, too.

The food is okay, but not great. I had tacos with rice and beans, and the taco shells were really super thick. Sort of hard to eat. The filling was good, but it didn't seem worth the effort of biting through the armored shell. Chips and sauce were not remarkable, and honestly when we sat down with the menu we looked at each other in a mutual "wow, expensive" look. For the price I won't be back. The servers were friendly, and the service was good. However overall the value is not there for us.

We met my son and daughter in law halfway for lunch to celebrate my daughter's 12th birthday. This place gave us a private room and stored the cake in the refrigerator for the birthday! We had good food and excellent service.

Had the Ponchos, which is the steak nachos and it was AMAZING. The margaritas are very good. The bar tender Miranda was on point and got everything right on the first try. She also did very well with us considering we were a large group. Loved this place and will return again

This place is yummy and super cheap. Big plate of food and real authentic tex mex food and salsa. Homemade chips and tortillas. I mean yummy. Definitely worth a stop or two while ur in town.
