The island has limited eating out options at present due to the current recovery phase. Luckily we have the Bar located on the edge of the village is served by friendly and accommodating staff to save the day. The fixed menu is limited but is well supported with associated soups and dishes of the day. Clean efficient fast and very good value.

The atmosphere is classic Aran Islands laid back. Huge portions and perfectly prepared meals. The owner even made my grandson chocolate milk (which turned out to be hot cocoa) for breakfast. 👍👍👍👍🙄

Having visited The Bar on numerous occasions over the years, and most recently St Patrick's Weekend, I am once again longing to return. From the moment you walk in, you will be struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere, which will seem to envelop you like a cozy Aran sweater! The staff are not only incredibly friendly but also seemed to have an uncanny ability to predict my drink preferences! I suspect they may be part-time mind readers when they're not pulling pints! The Guinness btw is really really good, really!! A perfect accompaniment would be the delicious seafood chowder! So, if you are lucky enough to find yourself on the beautiful Inis Mór, do yourself a favor and pop into The Bar for a drink (or three!) and a bite to eat. I guarantee you'll be raising a glass to this unforgettable gem! Ní féidir liom fanacht le teacht ar ais, beidh rí rá agus ruaille buaille ann!! Sláinte!

There are only two things on the menu for kids, sausage and chips and chicken nuggets and chips. Boys had enough of Nuggets and sausages as this is all that is on the menus for kids. There was an adult pasta dish on the menu and my 7 year old wanted pasta so I asked if he could have plain pasta. This was refused as it was “not on the menu”. I also asked if the other child could have mash and veg instead of chips with the chicken nuggets. Both the mash and veg had to be ordered as side dishes. I also asked for gravy with the mash but they had no gravy. I got chicken salad on avocado which was not great. The fish and chips seemly was nice. Very bad experience and staff were not willing to accommodate in any way. Would not recommend. The blue restaurant in front of the bar has excellent food.

We stayed 3 days on the island and visited the restaurant several times. Both for food and coffee. Very good. Clear and clear menu, different beers and desserts. Everything homemade and regional. No finished products. Not only is it cooked “right”, it also tastes delicious. The place has one part as a bar, quite classic pub and the other part more as a restaurant. There is also a large beer garden. It is ordered and paid at the counter. The drinks can be taken immediately and the food is brought. Great value for money. Would like to recommend.

If you are looking for an amazing Pub and restaurant on Inishmor .I highly recommend visiting The Bar. The pints and food are amazing! I loved the live entertainment also. The Staff are all so professional, kind and genuinely care about their guests. The burgers , desserts and Irish Breakfast tasted delicious. I ended up going to The Bar at least four times upon my visit to Kilronan,inishmor . Very clean restaurant and restrooms. This establishment rates five stars and more! It should be noted I am originally from Dublin Ireland and lived in the United States for over thirty years and served in the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a great bar from all my life experiences and travels all over the world. I definitely will return in the near future! A must visit if you are looking for great food and music. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

We had lunch here today and really enjoyed ourselves. We had fish burgers; fresh fish in Heineken batter. Food was delicious and there was a nice atmosphere. There were a few local older men at the bar, and the young barmaid treated them with respect and kindness.

We usually avoid any food place that is close to the entry or departure point for tourists but this one is an exception. The Bar is has a wonderful vibe with everyone jammed into - the bar - or at an array of small tables in the bar area or the lounge right beside it. It lends itself to lively conversation between the tables as the servers squeeze their way between clients. You order and pay at the counter. The food and service were magnificent. We had the fish burger (excellent piece of fish and wonderful chips) and the beef stroganoff which was more like a stew. This had such a delicious gravy that we used the chips to make sure we got every drop. We watched interesting desserts go by but, as with many places in Ireland, the meal portions are very large and we simply had no room for more.

An oasis on the island

After biking over half the island, I stumbled into The Bar on shaky legs and immediately found myself in a sort of paradise. The woman behind the bar—who I later learned was the owner—was breezily charming and deadly efficient. The food was fantastic (a salad with locally-sourced goat's cheese) but honestly the best part was watching the owner quietly instruct staff to clear tables or wash dishes, confirm with the kitchen that food would arrive on time, and all the while exchange cheerful banter with other customers. By the time I left to catch the ferry, I was convinced: nowhere on Inis Mór could compare.

Just went for some food on a visit to the island. I had Beef Stroganoff, i cleaned the plate. Menu is basic but satisfactory if you're not looking for anything too fancy There was also a 1 man band performing and it helped create a nice atmosphere

The Great Bar!

We visited two nights in a row, Friday and Saturday nights. The food was delicious on both occasions, very tasty and served piping hot, and fairly promptly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was live music on both nights with two different artists playing each night in and early and late shift type arrangement. The music was great and it added hugely to the atmosphere in the bar on each night. I’ll certainly be calling in again in my next trip to Inis Mór!

We spent the morning and early afternoon walking about the island on Monday, May 22, 2023. It was a hot day walking in the sun without shade. As we returned to the village we decided to enter this place for a bit of rest and late lunch. This is a really nice old bar and restaurant. My wife and I each had coffee and the Seafood Chowder with Soda Bread. The coffee was fresh and aromatic, the chowder was thick and chock full of various seafood chunks and vegetables in a delicious creamy broth. The bread nutty and fresh as well. The owner or manager and staff were very friendly and treated us as locals. We sat in the corner next to a very friendly couple who we had a chat with. They live on Inis Mor year around and filled us in with some of the details of how living on the island is. We had a great time here. Highly recommended by me.

Nine of us called in here for Dinner on Thursday, The Food was Delicious & the Staff were Very Friendly. So we came back for Breakfast on Friday, It was also Delicious. The most Family Friendly place for food on Inis Mór. When we return to the Island we will definitely be paying a visit to The Bar.

Bia den scoth, seirbhís den scoth. Bhí béile iontach blasta againne ann, agus deoch nó dhó leis!! Excellent service, food was just what we needed after a day cycling the island, is maith an t-anlann an t-ocras dár ndóigh!. The staff made up a baby bowl for my son who has autism and won't eat anything else. They went out of their way to be helpful. I'd highly recommend for a family of 6 or more, no issues bringing in all the kids in with no prior booking made. Míle buíochas as ucht an fáilteachas!

We are just back from glamping in the Aran islands for 2 days. There was 3 families 6 adults and 7 kids. On the first evening we decided to eat here. A lovely menu with some great dishes on it. A few of us had the beer battered fish & chips. A lovely tasty piece of fish in a crisp batter with chips. It was served with a side of coleslaw and salad. 2 of the ladies had the Tian of crab and prawn. Presentation here was class. A very tasty dish where the reports from the 2 ladies as the plates got cleaned quickly. 2 of younger kids had chicken nuggets & chips. Then the rest of the kids went for the spicy chicken wings and sides of chips. Silence was golden while eating followed by empty bowls and plates. Waiting staff were friendly and food came on time. A lovely spot to sit outside to eat in on a good day. Will definitely be back when go to the Aran islands again.
