One of our Favorite Restaurants!

Stone Soup has become our "go-to" restaurant. We've been there many times this year, most recently this week. The meals have always been delicious, the service has been friendly and efficient, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is very peaceful (no loud music blasting, so you can have a nice conversation with your friends.) We've been for lunch and dinner. I love the salmon BLTs!

The food was worth the drive.

We had excellent service from the hostess and our waitress, Riley. Both were very helpful, as it was our first time there. My husband said his Classic burger was one of the best burgers he's ever tasted. My smoked turkey, bacon and Swiss was also good. The potato salad was just like mine at home. It was difficult choosing which side to order because they all sounded so enticing - better than the usual fare offered at most other establishments. The portions are a good size, which left no room for dessert, but we did get some items from their market to take home. We will definitely go back - it's worth the 45 minute drive.

Great food, service and atmosphere!

We stopped in here spur of the moment on a road trip across the southeast. We both ended up ordering pizza after much indecision! All the menu items sounded and looked tasty on other guest’s plate. The pizza was really delicious. The decor alludes to the horse racing and showing business that is an integral part of Landrum. Very well done! There’s indoor and outdoor seating and some very tasty looking baked goods, casseroles, soups and market items in their cases.

POOR MANAGEMENT AND VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Very disappointing!!! Arrived and were seated immediately, drinks on the way, order was taken. After 35 minutes waiter comes back and asks if we need anything, no thank you, well, let me check on your food, not sure why it's taking so long. Waiting an hour, I go to the front area where we arrived, waited a few minutes while watching the staff having some fun. The manager/owner comes out and asked if I have been helped, I said yes, can you give me an update on my food, oh, it's coming. As I walk past the main dining area there is a 4 top seated and no one else. As I head back to my table another guest is looking for the waiter for his check. Waiter is bringing out our food and takes it to the table that asks for the check. No one apologized for our wait, not even the manager. POOR MANAGEMENT!!! I work very hard for my money and looked forward to coming here after reading about them for months.

DELICIOUS FOOD

I just bought a property in Landrum after moving from Hatteras Island. We do not eat out, because we can cook at home for the same quality of food as eating out. We don't have a kitchen in our renovated home yet, so we order out when our Son and Wife come to visit us from G'ville, SC. Both my husband and son said, almost simultaneously, "This is the best pizza I have ever eaten! (Wild Mushroom and Sausage and Prosciutto). I had the house salad with Balsamic Dressing and being a salad connoisseur, I am picky. The salad was over the top delicious and a huge quantity. I ate every morsel for two separate meals. Jack, the host, helped me with my order when I called in and could not have been more professional, friendly and helpful. After receiving my order, I walked away thinking, "thank God, there are still kind, caring folks in this world." After eating our meals, I thought, "AND the food is delicious to boot!" I'm in my 70th +year and I say, "we'll live through the masks, but we need to embrace and appreciate kind people and standards of excellence." P. Fort New Hobby Farm Owner in Landrum

Very welcoming with different rooms, and lots of dining outside. Everything we ordered was enjoyable but somewhat expensive. The French Onion Soup was probably made with sweet sherry and the Caesar salads were also good. The inside bathroom is out of order. However, there is one available with a short walk outside of the building and in through the laundry area. A nice note asks that you use the cleaning supplies to wipe down the toilet. I probably missed it, but did not see a sink.

Perfect lunch

We ordered the Turkey bacon sandwich, house salad, prosciutto and sausage pizza and arugula goat cheese pizza for our family of five. Every bite was incredible. My husband kept saying, this is the best sandwich I have ever had. We will be back!

Chicken Salad

The salad did have nuts, raisins and feta cheese, However, the chicken was sparse and cut into little tiny bite sizes. I felt that the $13.00 for the salad was excessive. I was extremely disappointed. My friend also had the same salad and hers too was lacking chicken.

Where's the meat

I have always enjoyed this local restaurant. Today I ordered a ground beef pizza and there were only a couple pieces of beef on the pizza. Only a littleCaesar dressing on salad. Lovely waitress poor food. No steak, other items not available.

Went for lunch as a take out...The pizza was the best I have had in a really long time. The wood oven makes the crust that's very tasty. We also got a cobb salad that was tasty and big enough for two to enjoy. The staff was very helpful in providing suggestions on what to choose in creating the perfect pizza over the phone when ordering. Their prepared food market in the restaurant had so many delicious food; homemade chicken soup, desserts, and pasta dishes. We purchased a spinach dip that we ate tonight for supper. With restrictions on travel, this neighborhood restaurant is here in town. Remember to buy local and support hometown shops.

This spot is a gem. The dining room is quaint and comfortable. The menu offers many great options at reasonable price points given the quality of the food served. The service staff is friendly and efficient. Stone Soup has a full bar if you want to enjoy a drink with your meal. They have a refrigerated case full of take out meals that can be baked at home. The soup is always good here no matter which one you try. Do not pass up the desserts as they have some yummy treats to share after your dinner or take it home to savor. I can't speak to the pizza as we usually have something else on the menu but all of our meals have been delicious.

Fresh highly imaginative menu. Was able to satisfy both my husband and me. Wild mushroom pizza was outstanding as was my husband's black & blue salad. His meat was cooked exactly as he likes it.

Strange Saturday outing

Was using the dog park on Saturday, so thought we would have lunch. The place has a mask policy in place. Since SC does not have a mask nandate and we are vaccinated thought we would go ahead inside. Was told that no mask no service….so we chose no service….as well as the folks behind us did the same. Not a big loss the food is ok….. would not recommend the pizza….its bland…not good dough. The salads are the best the have to offer. Still do not understand why they have a mask policy…..unless as the CDC states its an area of high infection or significant spread. Restaurant were in the low single digits…… too many other choices out there to put up with crazy policies…might try them again once they correct a few things

As previously stated we are following CDC guidelines to help keep the public safe during a pandemic . In areas of high infection and low vaccination rates they said when inside even vaccinated people should wear a mask. I wear one in the kitchen and cook all day long- believe me I prefer not to. We take our responsibility to the public seriously and do our best to keep everyone safe. I think it’s irresponsible to bash a business and hurt their overall score because you disagree with the CDC. By the way we’ve gotten excellent reviews on our pizza.

We have eaten at Stone Soup several times and never been disappointed. Yesterday we did a carry out order and everything was great. We had their black bean soup and it was the best black bean soup I have ever tasted. We also like to purchase their frozen prepared dishes. They are very good as well.

Stone Soup demonstrates respect for its customers and values the safety of its diners with social distancing, masked staff, and plenty of outdoor seating. Been there three times during COVID, always felt safe and the food was very good. Thank you!
