Located in the heart of New Hope, a couple of doors down from the Bucks County Playhouse, this was a great find for us! Atmosphere was great; we had a high table right along the large window in the rear of the restaurant which overlooks a canal or river. There is a bar area in the front of the restaurant and tables in the rear. Not a traditional menu; no appetizers or entrees; but a great selection of about 20 different tapas, about 15 cheeses and chauterie, and 8 deserts. We had three tapas to share, all of which were excellent: beef wellington, tuna tartar, and octopus. We also had a great chocolate pudding for desert. Parking is tricky, but a local guided us to a spot about a block and a half away, over the bridge and first left. We highly recommend this restaurant!

I can’t say enough about this place before covid and during covid. Been here many times and have never had a bad meal, bad service or bad wine. We were staying at The Carriage house for an overnight stay and decided Nektar is where we would eat. We had reservations and requested inside upstairs facing an open window and the said they would do their best to accommodate. The place was jam packed and the very accommodating hostess told us she had a table right by the window but the window was full. She then showed us the open windows and tables facing Mechanic street. We said that’s perfect because we wanted to see the other side facing Karla’s. Not only was it the perfect spot with the AC blowing right near us but the bartender was so schooled in his knowledge of the flights of wine that we asked for. We knew we would be eating a lot of tapas. So we ordered the Korean wings, roasted beet salad with goat cheese arugula and candied pecans, octopus with mango and a balsamic glaze as well as the tuna and octopus tacos. Everything was to die for. Our room wasn’t ready and we had that beautiful memory if that truffle burger we had a few years back so my husband ordered it while we waited for our room to be ready. I only ate a small piece but it was better than what I had remembered. The food, the ambiance and the service was impeccable. I hate to say this but it blew Stella’s out of the water for us as far as food. Can’t wait to get back here again.

The food we had - octopus, flatbread & duck salad was pretty good but not exceptional. My husband thought the duck tasted more like pastrami than duck. The wine list was very good and our bottle of white was perfectly chilled. Service was quick & pleasant. One bad feeling was caused by the the reservation process: no reservations on the same day. + We were told they only reserve 1/4 of seats & they wouldn't be too busy so not to worry, Still we ended up eating @ the bar (at 5:45) & after us all were told there was a 40 min. wait. Seems like a scam to ensure full seats but not provide good customer service.

We were looking for a place with outside dining but not on the street which is common since the pandemic. The Nektar location was perfect. No criticism there. The server was courteous but later became scarce and did not return to our table for a long periods of time between visits. The food and drink was expensive for what we ordered. I get it, it is New Hope and the little town is in an affluent area. I don’t mind paying for quality but the food was mediocre at best. The server recommended some deep fried piece of cheese with a Greek name that looked and tasted like a block of rubber. It was $15. It was a successful effort of upselling on her part. The drinks were also over the top. I was charged $9 for an eight ounce glass of some obscure lower ABV beer. I live in a resort area and do not experience prices like that. My wife’s cocktail was also overpriced. I would not recommend this restaurant with the other choices in New Hope / Lambertville area.

Classic case of web page not portraying what the place is like....notice the empty pictures and illusion of wide open spaces on the webpage. In reality this place is packed and not easily offerings their "tastings" as advertised. We made it a point to specifically come here based on web data (boy am I stupid), had the difficult and ridiculous priced parking which is the Village of New Hope. We waited close to an hour to get in, then left after receiving no service at all. Waste of time

We've been wanting to try Nektar for a while, and it did not disappoint. The wine bar features upscale wine, whiskey and beer (including flights) and numerous small plates. We went for my hubby's birthday. On a weekend, we reserved about 3 weeks in advance. Really lovely inside, and enjoyed the food. Our server, Aphrodite, was attentive and answered our questions. We asked to pace to selections, and chose 4 total. My husband had the pinot noir flight, and I had the Elk Cove, which I love. All of the small plates were good (my least favorite was the tuna poke, a bit salty, and my fave the heirloom tomato flatbread, very fresh). Definitely a special occasion kind of place, so plan accordingly in terms of prices. Very enjoyable and we would definitely return.

Had four different small plates (Poke Bowl, Shrimp Al Ajillo, Szechuan Duck Wings, and Portobello Fries) and a the Beef Filet Tip flatbread. A five looked appetizing but were totally lacking in flavor. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, Service was fine for 2022, but I honestly don’t know how the kitchen was able to put those combinations of ingredients together and create such little flavor. Disappointed… wont recommend or go back as there are too many other spot to try in the area.

The Lobster Pot Pie was mostly mixed veggies that looked/tasted like a frozen mix, minimal zest of lobster. Smoked duck, too salty, tuna tacos over cooked and could have been anything. Won't return. Only thing good was the blue cheese.

Came here 3 times for a long weekend stay in New Hope. The restaurant was closed to the public the first time and we didn't get in. On the 2nd try the restaurant was packed but we were able to sit at the bar. The bartender/waitress was attentive and friendly. Both food and drinks were good. On the 3rd visit the restaurant was fully booked, but we were able to sit at a reserved table until the time of reservation. The place is busy and for a good reason.

We enjoyed a relaxing Sunday afternoon at Nektar. Michael was our server and he was great. He had wonderful recommendations and was very attentive. We enjoyed the octopus, the Shrimp Santorini, and the short rib flatbread. The Shrimp Santorini was not what I was expecting, but it was so delicious! I never would have ordered it if I had seen a picture because I am not a fan of shrimp in a tomato base, but I would have missed out on an incredible dish! My husband and I both thought it was the best dish that we ordered. We also ordered the pork tamales and were a little disappointed with them. The pork seemed a bit dry. The octopus was good and we also were surprised with a hard seltzer that Michael recommended. I don’t usually like hard seltzers, but this was unlike any hard seltzer I have ever had. It was flavorful and had a little sweetness to it. So glad Michael recommended it! I can’t wait to go back the new time we are in New Hope!

My daughter and I enjoyed our time at Nektar very much. I wasn't thrilled with the covid surcharge, since I feel that sanitizing tables should be a part of restaurant protocol regardless, but we had a nice evening. We enjoyed our tapas (octopus was a little dry but the delicious scallops made up for it) and sitting outdoors. There was a lot of debris from the trees that fell, but that is just this time of year. Our server Mia was wonderful.

From the ambiance, the food and the service - we had a great time. Being stuck in a bubble due to avoid COVID19 14 months, this was our first visit to a restaurant. I felt very safe and was impressed to note how they are following the CDC guidelines. Our waitress Mia was excellent. Enjoyed the Bourbon and Lavender Gin drinks. We enjoyed the tapas - small portions of variety of food.

We had a lovely lunch on the patio. The small plates meant we were able to try lots of things. We had the portobello fries which were awesome. The Korean style wings which were incredibly tasty and the bacon marmalade bruscetta which was very unique and delicious. I can't wait to go again. Next time at night. Bring a sweater if you get chilly.

Definitely must go here if you enjoy tapas. Service is good. Ambiance is great. Extensive wine, beer, and liquor selection with flights. Meatball sliders, short rib, wings, tamales, and grilled cheese, apples, bacon a must.

I used to adore this place and would come here once a week and tell everyone about it. Today, my fiancé and I wanted to go for our anniversary. We called twice to make sure we reserve a table outside and the manager who’s name is Natasha said no problem. We even called back to make sure we would not be seated inside due to Covid 19 concerns. Told her we are an hour from this place and just wanted to make sure. She said “no problem” . Upon arrival, the manage we spoke to on the phone who was also the hostess proceeded to walk us into the very back INSIDE dining room which was 100% not following any of the safety guidelines. People were piled in. I nicely tried to speak to her saying we spoke to her on the phone and she assured us that there would be a table outside . She said “do what you want but there will be no table outside” . When I asked to speak to someone else , she said there is no one higher in command than her and the owner will not listen to me. Then she called me a bitch in russian and told me to get out. I actually speak russian so I understood everything . This is so sad because this place was legit my favorite and I was going to have a huge birthday party here . Don’t know if I will be returning . Mostly for safety concerns . They are not practicing safe Covid procedures. I am writing this review in hopes that the owners will be aware of the rude management when they aren’t around . Please hire polite humans 🙏🏼

Hello, I apologize for any misunderstanding in regard to your seating request. We have both covered and uncovered outdoor dining spaces. Since it was raining, we were not seating the uncovered tables. I am sorry you were not happy with the covered outdoor dining table, but that was the only option in the rain. I would like to express that the safety of our guests and staff members is our top priority. We are doing business according to the current safety measures set forth by all local, state and federal agencies and making any changes to our business based on this information. We have surpassed what is recommended and made sure to have all of our safety procedures approved by the Bucks County Health Department. In fact, the day before you visited the local health inspector walked through our restaurant and stated that we were doing all the right things, including the spacing and location of all our tables. Also, to politely remind you that the day in which you visited limited indoor seating was approved by the Governor of PA. By accepting reservations, which is something we adopted for this particular time, we can limit the number and properly distance 6ft between guests. Our establishment is following all government protocols and you can find them outlined on our Covid-19 website page that we continually update. We have created a full-time safety position, which we have solely focused on sanitizing and disinfecting all areas of our restaurant. All staff before returning to work are required to attend a Covid-19 safety orientation via video conference, so that we can go over all of our safety and business procedures in extensive detail. We also conduct daily temperature checks followed by a set of questions pertaining to potential Covid exposure. We have redesigned our table layout, service and kitchen flow to ensure stations, guests and staff are properly distanced. Every shift our team-members work diligently to protect our guests and each other while providing an enjoyable experience during these stressful times. I know and trust that our very professional team including Natasha is providing an exceptional and safe experience to all of our guests. If you would like to reach out to discuss further, feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Christina Nektar Management Christina@alphahospitalitygroup.net
