This is just one of the six eateries in the Sam collection. Some good advice here not to drive down and use the car park on the way down, Remarkable the quality of the food coming out of this compact and cramped 'kitchen'. The chowder...was raved over and probably No1. The seafood linguine was plentiful in mussels and prawns though lacked a rich tomato ragu base. The bouillabaisse was delicious though the sauce lacked depth. As I said they do a fantastic job considering the kitchen size. Usual venue and great service means we will return next year though not in high season!More

Sunday in November - we came to Sam's in Polkerris after en excellent meal at the Fowew sister restaurant. The old lifeboat station gives this one a different vibe from Fowey. We were lucky to get in for a late lunch having booked only the...previous evening, they were very busy in mid-November. The cafe is a really fun place to be, old movie posters, memorabilia and the record of rescues from the days when the lifeboat launched from Polkerris. The place was heaving but that didn't prevent the service being fast and friendly, these guys know what they are doing and must be hyper-organised behind the scenes. We both ate pork belly which arrived on a generous disc of black pudding - lovely and herby - with a marvellous pile of leeks and cabbage below. Plenty of delicious gravy and pan juice,s plus a little pot of excellent apple chutney with quite a kick to it. Not to be missed in you are in this part of CornwallMore

Don’t try & drive down to the restaurant there is no parking, use the car park half way down the hill and walk but remember to take a torch it is very dark. The restaurant is right on the beach. There were about a half...dozen tables inside with more on the beach, this would be a great location in the summer not so good on a cold dark November night. A similar menu to Sam's in Fowey, friendly staff, good seafood at a reasonable price.More

Excellent food and service for our celebration meal. The service was very friendly and attentive, constantly making sure that our water jug was full. The food was so good, and plenty of it. My only moan would be to have more than just one type...of steak on the menu. Over all we had a lovely time and left to walk up the hill very happy 😊More

Excellent lunch, food and wine accompanied by a fabulous view. Good service and atmosphere. The only negative is there is no parking. Public car park about 150 yards away up a steep hill, not what you need after a lovely lunch when it’s raining.

We dined here on a Sunday lunch with 6 of us eating. The food was delicious and my wife gave the mussels 10/10 . The children had pizza which they all enjoyed. I had the chicken basque (not 100% it was called that) which was...perfect and so tasty. The only reason I gave 4/5 is because the chairs are so uncomfortable it became painful after 30 minutes .and the young lad serving was incredibly slow and forgetful. I would definitely come back but would ask for bench seats .More

The food was excellent, plenty of fresh fish, all cooked well. Service was faultless - casual, friendly and efficient and the view of the sun going down over the sea! Nothing not to like, the perfect end to our holiday!

We’d had a great week at Fowey and decided on the last evening to go to Polkerris Beach and have our last evening meal at Sam’s On The Beach. Lovely setting just off the beach and fantastic views looking out to sea. I had the...Rib Eye Steak meal which was fantastic with chips and a lovely side salad etc. My partner had a pizza which was huge and she said was great while the young daughter had the pizza off children’s meal which again was lovely then she had ice cream to finish while me and my partner both had the chocolate brownie desert which was lovely, good drink options also a must visit if on holiday in FoweyMore

Booked here for my Daughters 40th Birthday dinner, there were five of us (3 adults 2 children). We started with pre-dinner drinks outside on the patio, and then went inside for the meal. We had various starters and shared them between us, then for mains...my wife had the Gurnard which was massive and my daughter and I shared the Seafood Platter for two which would have been enough for three or four people. The ‘kids’ meals were large portions too. All the food was of excellent quality and were really well looked after by all the serving team, who made the night by bringing out our portion of profiteroles with a large candle and getting the whole of the restaurant to sing Happy Birthday. I look forward to returning here.More

We’ll worth the narrow road that leads to it. Fantastic staff. Wonderful fresh fish, beautifully prepared and presented. Desserts were excellent too.
