Cafe Fresco Center City has become a family favorite for take out. My kids love the wagyu sliders, pizza and chicken fingers. My husband and I struggle with what to choose because we have a few absolute favorites. Most recently, we enjoyed the wagyu swiss...mushroom burgers, which are absolutely delicious. When given the opportunity, we love to dine in at the restaurant. We love the atmosphere, the staff and of course, the food. We have enjoyed two of the Saturdays in the City over the past six weeks, as well as a lunch. We recommend the salmon appetizer, marinated filet, sea bass, arugula salad, lettuce wraps, crab cakes, red curry peanut chicken, and the brussel sprouts. Highly recommendMore

Thank you Cafe Fresco for yet another delicious dinner. Thank you to the amazing staff for making a birthday dinner/celebration a memorable night. There were 10 of us in this group. We were loud at times, and some at the table impatient as well. Our...server did a great job taking care of so many individual needs. The food was perfect, as always, both in presentation and taste. The drinks were flowing thanks to so many choices of craft cocktails. The celebration continued upstairs to Level 2, where the level of service was over the top, as expected. Always look forward to our next lunch or dinner at Fresco!More

Cafe Fresco has been a lunch staple for me for several years but after two subpar experiences this week, I think it is time for a break. I'm not sure if it is a trickle-down result of the coronavirus or a lack of care from...the employees, but both items this week were not up to the standard that Cafe Fresco used to hold. Earlier this week I ordered the Turkey and Brie sandwich - it isn't my normal go-to from the menu, but I've had it previously and enjoyed it immensely. What was delivered was definitely light on the sandwich ingredients and served in overly greasy bread. Thinking the sandwich was a one-off fluke, today I ordered my standard go-to, the BBQ Ranch Salad. The frizzled onions were stale, the cucumbers were very few and sliced paper thin, the tomatoes were past their prime, and the romaine lettuce had a very metallic taste. All that was really edible was the chicken (which was excellent) and the slice of garlic bread (which previously was a crunchy delight and is now a soggy and greasy disappointment). Additionally, the server who received my online request decided to add raw red onions to my order. As previously mentioned, I'm hoping that this is a temporary situation with Cafe Fresco, perhaps substandard produce paired with fewer staff members making quality control checks. But I will certainly proceed with caution regarding future orders.More

First let me preface this review by saying I am a longtime fan and patron of Cafe Fresco and that’s what makes this review so disappointing. But my hope is that a little tough love will get the brunch team back on track. On Saturday...2/15 I was downtown mid-morning and decided I was in the mood for brunch. I started brunch off properly with a Classic Bloody Mary that was beautiful with a welcome spicy jolt to wake me up. Unfortunately my Classic Benedict with poached egg, Canadian bacon, sriracha hollandaise, and arugula was the problem. The eggs were poached fine. But everything else missed the mark. My guess is the eggs were poached and stacked on top of the english muffin and minimal Canadian bacon, placed briefly on a griddle, drizzled with tasteless but pretty hollandaise sauce, sprinkled with arugula and then sat under a heat lamp while the only on duty server ran around attending to over 10 tables (hence the wilted arugula). Benedicts are my favorite thing so it pains me to say this one was subpar. Siracha of course is a Thai hot sauce, but the chef must have been afraid of adding too much so the end result was a pretty yellow sauce that lacked any heat or flavor at all. Thankfully the homemade pork sausage saved the day - it was amazing with very complex flavors that seemed to contain a hint of ginger and a great zesty flavor. I even ordered a second side of the sausage. Atmosphere and style here is beautifully metropolitan and can only be found nearby in NYC, DC, or Philly. I still recommend Cafe Fresco but hope in the future the brunch team doesn’t skimp on the Canadian Bacon and returns to paying attention to details.More

Gourmet eats. Nice decor. Have been many times and enjoy the place. Recommend for a date. Took my mother there two years ago for Mother's Day, with a table of 10. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good experience.

Cafe Fresco has always been a reliable go to spot for dinner and evening cocktails. But I was recently curious about lunch. A first attempt on 12/18 left uncertain after the specials: Clam Chowder and a Hot Turkey Bacon & Swiss Sandwich - both were...good but missing something. So on Friday 12/27 I gave lunch a second shot. I enjoyed my Chicken Chili and my full-size Grilled Chicken Avocado Club on a Ciabatta Roll. The soup had great flavor and took the chill off and my sandwich was excellent - generous size, with noticeably fresh ingredients, and great tasting. Service is always friendly. The atmosphere for lunch is not as electric as in the evening. But the food is still great and courteously served in a clean, relaxed, stylish environment. I recommend lunch at Cafe Fresco.More
