Want breakfast? This is the place. Hands down, fantastic!!!. Not only does this place excel at the breakfast standards but the menu is filled with quirky dishes like the chicken parm omlette or strawberry chocolate cream cheese stuffed french toast. The owner is a bit gruff, but it adds to the allure of this amazing place. I go here every time I'm in Erie, love it.

Give me a 'real' local breakfast spot.

We stopped for gas and asked where we could get a good breakfast, the attendent suggested Bob Evans. No, we want a 'real' local breakfast spot. The second person suggested The Breakfast place. Just a few miles out of our way but what a fabulous spot. REAL breakfast, great bottomless coffee and pleasand, quick service. Too bad we live so far away or it would be our go to spot. Highly recommended..

Well worth a stop - happy breakfast times!

This breakfast place is well worth a stop if you are in the area. We stopped in before going to the beach to see Lake Erie. Staff was kind a quick to refill coffee and water. Food was hot and came out as advertised. Mushrooms in the omelette were from a can which was a little disappointing.

Went here for breakfast. I noticed an elderly woman come in the door, walking with her cane. They have a waiting area that is cold and she was sitting in it waiting her turn. I went inside and asked the cashier to bring her into the warmth and provide her a chair. Her answer was, "We don't usually do that. I'll have to ask the manager.". No one actually helped her.

Simple yet delicious

This is a perfect mom's kitchen breakfast. Nothing crazy, just well cooked eggs and sides. I had Italian French toast and nicely done fried eggs. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the restaurant decor homey.

Oh my! This place is good!

Stopped in here on the basis of the stellar Trip Advisor reviews. Boy, did it deliver! An extensive menu that includes some quirky originals, friendly service and generous portions. I had a special, waffle with strawberries, excellent. Highly recommend this out of the way place, it’s worth seeking out

Great breakfast at a great price

Can’t beat this restaurant for consistently serving great food at good prices. The space is big which gives you space and a lot more quiet. There are a few booths. Friendly service it, in what seems to be, a local favorite. Highly recommend.

Continues to be awesome. Always hit this place for breakfast with Erie friends. Service by the gorgeous Kaytlin is 5 star. Coffee always perfect. And food always the best. Over the years, I have never had a bad breakfast here.

Food wasn’t that good. The other breakfast place was better. Staff was nice and there was parking plenty of parking. Prices were reasonable

Came here on recommendation and wow so glad I did !! The best breakfast I’ve ever had in the states !! No wonder it’s packed to the doors !! The staff are amazing !!! The food is even better !!! I will definitely get back here !! And can’t recommend enough !!! Keep up the great work guys!!! You are amazing !!!

Awesome place for breakfast.

Wonderful place for breakfast. Family owned and staffed, everyone was super friendly. A bit of a wait on Sunday (yesterday) but guessing that is the norm. Don't let the wait deter you, breakfast is amazing. Love independent eateries and this one was awesome.

REALLY GOOD Breakfast!

It's been a bit of a lonely week with Vicki in Texas. But I'm glad she's having a good time catching up with family and friends, enjoying good times and food. Decided to take Tori out to some place different for breakfast. Googled "best breakfast near me". Top of the list was "The Original Breakfast Place" at 2340 E 38th in Erie. Not really "near", but I thought what the heck. "The Original Breakfast Place" is a regular diner, although nicely decorated. Adequate seating (maybe 15 tables, minimum 4 chairs per table) with good lighting. The truly important stuff: GOOD STRONG COFFEE with REAL coffee FLAVOR!! If you don't like strong coffee, ask for some hot water to thin the coffee. No joking. Tori and I both chose "Terri's Big Breakfast"... and Yes, it is. Everything was exceptional (I don't get to say that often enough), prepared to order, nothing skimpy, VERY flavorful! One thing that always kinda bugs me is ordering scrambled eggs and getting a chopped up overcooked omelet. Not here! Real scrambled eggs that look, feel, and taste like scrambled eggs. Good portion of bacon that tastes like good bacon! Hearty Pancakes! Excellent breakfast sausage! Real toast (if you don't know what I'm saying, you will! LOL) Service was VERY good. My coffee cup did not sit empty, requests were filled immediately. Moderately priced (two big satisfying breakfasts for under $25), worth every penny. I HEARTILY recommend "The Original Breakfast Place" at 2340 East 38th St in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Good breakfast place

We went on a Sunday morning about 11 a.m. and didn't have to wait. The place is small and crowded but the food and service were excellent. It's a little off the beaten track but evidently has been there for some time.
