Visited Bayfront Grille for the first time this week with my daughter. We started off with the corn and crab chowder which was fantastic as was the complimentary bread they served with it. My daughter simply said "Oh yum!" We then had the salmon with quinoa which was honestly the best quinoa I've ever had. Lightly browned and mixed with veggies and drizzled with the citrus sauce that was served with the salmon. My daughter had the Feel Good Salad with a side of honey sriracha brussel sprouts which we shared and both loved. The sprouts were perfectly done, crisp around the edges and wonderful. Being from Wisconsin, it was also a requirement to have the specialty Old Fashioned which I enjoyed but, it did come with a hefty price tag of $15. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the views. I cannot wait to visit Erie again and bring my husband along to enjoy this fabulous restaurant!

Great night at the Bayfront Grill

We had reservations for 4 for 8 pm but since the event we had attended had ended early we went 45 minutes early. They were booked and had said our table wouldn’t be ready until 8 , so we sat in comfortable chairs in the bar area , when the manager came over and said they had a table for us! Here they opened up another room just for us! As for the food we each had different meals including the porterhouse pork, 1/2 chicken , filet and grouper! and all of them were great , done perfectly . The spare rib appetizer was delicious. Our waitress was also very knowledgeable and attentive . We aren’t anyone special but we’re treated like we were ! Thank you to our waitress , the hostess and the management staff for making it a great Saturday Night. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Lunch out in the igloo

Rented the igloo. It was warm and cozy. Kenzie took great care of us. Food was excellent. It had been awhile since the hubby, myself and the 2 kids could just go chill somewhere and enjoy talking, laughing and enjoying great service and food. We had a great experience and would do it again! Looking over the water and having snow fall while we ate was pretty cool.

This has gone downhill. My wife and I both ordered the filet steak and it was terrible. I could have had a better steak at Longhorn for less money. I heard that they got a new chef and I think he ordered cheaper steaks. Please don’t order the Filet it’s terrible and I always like filet for tender ness and no fat this had big veins of fat running through it. I will probably never order another and they never tried to make it right after I complained to our waiter RJ which by the way disappeared for a long time

It's not what it used to be!

We have been going to the Bayfront Grill since opening and was always impressed. But now they have a new chef, and with a limited offering menu, there is little "normal" or "comfort" food to find. Gone are the favorite chicken and pork dishes. Changed are the others. My wife tried the perch, an always favorite in Erie, and found the delicate fish had a very heavy and highly seasoned breading which ruined it! I had the salmon, which was alright; once I asked for a plate! It had been served in a deep and narrow bowl with the starch and brussel sprouts so that you would have to dig down through it all to try and eat it. Not very appealing plating! We had to ask if they were going to put music on. We found out late that you could have a bowl of fresh bread only if you asked for it. We used to tell friends you will never have a bad meal there, unfortunately, now it has happened.

I ordered the perch, thinking because we were on the bay it would be fresh. Deep fried and frozen. Tasted like a microwave dinner. Fries were cold and soggy. My wife ordered the chicken which was drenched and puddled in a chili sauce. Too hot to eat, after the waitress said it was mid and just a drizzle. Waitress complained of the loud music the entire service. $100 meal and I left hungry.

Lovely Setting, Food Way Overpriced and Ill Prepared

This would be a 1 star if it weren't for the excellent service. The food, however, was horribly overpriced for what you got and how it was prepared. I got the $40 grouper plate, and it consisted of two rolls of fancy-named mashed potatoes on top of which was placed a 2"x2"x1.5" thick (4 oz) piece of fish which included a small blob of fat. If you expect to be served a nice sized fillet of fish for a $30 or $40 meal, you will be very disappointed. I'd say its market price ($11/lb), that 4 oz serving costs $3 retail. The size was NOT on the menu for the fish. My husband had salmon which was also the same tiny size, worth about $2 retail, plus it was too wet, not flaky at all and the glaze had been applied to the skin, served skin side up. Look at any recipe and you are to baste the flesh frequently while cooking it skin side down until the flesh is caramelized, since most don't eat the skin. I will say the water view was gorgeous and the place was nicely set up and very clean. Waitresses were outstanding. They need to vastly lower prices if they continue with the 2" fish, and include the weight of the fish on the menu so the customer understands the tiny portions.

If you want to experience fine dining, or even a good meal, this is not the place. I'm unsure if this was an off night but everything was bad. Rushed service, the charcuterie gross, fries cold and sopping with oil, and the Perch ordered tasted like salty, dried out fish sticks. Oh, and also, it was expensive. Would not recommend.

Showed up to restaurant just after checking into hotel. Wed did not make a reservation. It was early - like 5pm and there were not many people in the dining room or on patio. We were asked if we had a reservation. Upon saying "no," we were told they would check and they were able to accommodate us (party of 2), but then lectured us on the importance of making reservations. We then sat on the patio (decent view) and watched another couple come out. The chair that the man sat on the broke (a high top chair). All of those chairs were then removed by hotel staff. After that "excitement" (the man was okay), we ordered. As a vegetarian I asked about the brussel sprouts and if they were vegetarian. The response from the waitress was "I am not sure what you want to know...they are a vegetable." I then went on to ask if they were cooked with meat or anything. I finally got the information I was looking for - they were deep fried in the same oils as the fish, etc. I ended up ordering their only vegetarian dish - a cauliflower rice that had a variety of other vegetables. It was terribly bland. After waiting for the waitress to return, I went into the restaurant to look for some pepper and hot sauce. The dish, which was a bit expensive, was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not find many good options in Erie for a nice dinner. This was "meh." It met our needs but I would not recommend.

Menu seemed a little pricey

Menu seemed a little pricey for entrees, but sandwiches and salads seemed appropriate. Had THE best perch sandwich - so good I got it 2 days in a row. Outdoor dining was SO socially distanced that its the only place I’ve eaten outside and really enjoyed it.

Totally awesome experience!

The atmosphere was wonderful and view of the bay is always a plus. The food was great, our server, Vitaly, was the best - very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He was very personable and patient-with a table of 10 women. We enjoyed his enthusiasm. The manager, Tom Buffalari visited our table a few times to make sure the food was good and we were enjoying our experience.

Tried Twice, Consistent and Delicious both times

When I looked up reviews for here, I found a lot saying slow service and mediocre food. I don't try to trash others experiences but that was certainly not my experience eating here three times in two days. In town for short business trip 3 days long. I found fresh salads, and a great filet steak cooked perfectly to my requested medium rare. Someone in that kitchen understands steak temperatures well, which for whatever reason always seems to be over or under these days but this was perfect. The cranberry mule was something I had never seen before and it turned out to be beyond delicious. Definitely worth the try. The truffle fries are just really really good, I have to imagine their regular fries would be good too. Really nice fry on them. The service was really good as well. I had Chris, I think one night, super nice guy and sadly the other ladies name slips my mind. Overall good food, good service, much better than some other places I've been lately, and I would certainly return soon.

Attractive restaurant, good service, mediocre food

Terribly overcooked fish (scarlet snapper entree). Almost inedible. Because restaurants and hotels have suffered so much during COVID, and kitchens are often understaffed, I decided not to say anything. Terribly salty potatoes served with the fish. Delicious after I used my knife and fork to wipe off the spicy salty glaze from the potatoes. The Margherita flatbread was perfect.

The Bayfront Grille located in the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel on the bay in Erie, PA is always a wonderful experience. We have been dinning there for the past five years during our frequent visits to Lake Erie. The food at this full service restaurant is not only delicious but also artistically prepared by their in house chef. The filet Mignon is superbly prepared and the sirloin burger with truffle fries has to be the very best around! The menu is small, but makes up in the quality and presentation of the food. Even the breakfast pancakes are light and fluffy. There are dietary options for everyone, including Vegan, along with a full service bar. The wait staff is absolutely the most friendly and accommodating, from Amarie and Amy the seating hostesses to Riley and Anita our servers during this past visit as well as Shannon and Tom the managers who are always checking to make sure you are well taken care of. Of course the view of the Bay of Lake Erie is "spectacular" from every table in the restaurant along with outdoor seating options (all seasons)! You will feel comfortable dressing casually or to the "9"s when going there. Dinning at the Bayfront Grille is a must when visiting Erie or even if you are resident of the area!!!

Fantastic food and service!

We ate at the Bayfront Grille Friday night after arriving into Erie and checking into the Sheraton. After discovering that our reservation was never confirmed, Michelle found a few holes in her schedule and offered us a couple times to choose from. We decided to eat right away and they had us seated within minutes. Our waiter, RJ, was extremely attentive, kind and accommodating. There were several other staff members we had contact with during our meal that were also extremely friendly. The food was delicious, even the salads! Live music on the patio was a bonus. Highly recommend!
