We saw this inside the carousel mall so we went for dinner and we were not disappointed. We all got bento boxes and it was great. They give you a lot of food for $15 I had a sushi roll, fried rice , teriyaki chicken, potstickers and soup. The chicken was so flavorful and everything was fresh. I got 2 meals out of it. The hot and sour soup wasn’t my favorite it was really thick and the taste was off it almost tasted like bbq sauce. The shrimp and crab Rangoon appetizer was really tasty. I would definitely come back here.

Very good Chinese restaurant

As the only remaining Chinese restaurant in Seaside, OR - this one is very good. It's not super ethnic Chinese food like any Chinatown, but is good Chinese American style - and I'm an Asian from LA. My wife loves the vegetarian choices and I enjoy the meat dishes. Their food is flavorful. The portions are large enough that ordering 3 entrees for 2 people gives us 3 meals each. Personally we prefer to order the entrees vs the lunch specials - so that we can share.

Take Out Only!

We were a little surprised that the indoor dining room was not open since the majority of the restaurants in Seaside were. We ordered take-out and took the food back to our beach cottage to eat. Excellent orange chicken, potstickers, fried rice, vegetable chow mein and sweet and sour pork here. :)

I was looking forward to this restaurant due to the great reviews. Their customer service was great, however the teriyaki chicken bento box was not good. There was limited sauce on the chicken and the texture was just off. The gyoza was decent, but unfortunately cold after the 10 minute drive home. I love sushi but the sauce on the Salem roll was a strong, bizarre flavor. I honestly threw most of the food away. Their hot and sour soup was the only item I really enjoyed. I would not recommend this dish, but perhaps their other menu items are better.

I came here based on the reviews. I got the Bento box chicken teriyaki. There was something off with the taste. There was waaayyyyy too much sauce on the teriyaki and sushi roll. The teriyaki chicken had a very odd texture. Not the teriyaki you would get at a normal teriyaki house. I wouldn't recommend this entree.

Delicious and Satisfying

We ordered takeout & picked it up 10-15 minutes later, eating in our room at the condo. The General Tsao's Prawns were so tasty we didn't want the serving to end! It was simply terrific to our taste. The steamed rice was better with a little sauce from the dishes spooned onto it. We also enjoyed the Szechuan Fried Squid, which was good, but not as exquisite as the Tsao Prawns.

Very good food and service

Dinner for two in the restaurant. We enjoyed their spicy green beans and their pork with black mushrooms and vegetables. Both excellent and inexpensive. Your dish comes with soup, a fried roll, and wontons. Plenty of food for taking some home. Great service. Nice people. Seaside seems to have a lot of tourist type places, but these folks are great.

Chow mein with spaghetti noodles?

Didn't eat our $18 plate of beef chow mein cuz if lack of flavor and the spaghetti was weird. But the server was great and our combo plates were good. Located net to the carousel on the boardwalk. Food was served fast.

Excellent food

We are staying in Seaside for about 6 months and found this place when we first arrived. It is excellent! We have eaten here just about every 2 weeks since we arrived and have had many different dishes and they are all excellent. Prices are good, good portions, meals are hot and ready when they say they will be, friendly owners. We definitely recommend this place!

Best asian cuisine in Seaside!

This place is such a gem! Our waitress was so helpful and friendly! We ordered the orange chicken entree and chicken fried rice entree for our family of 4 and it was more than enough plus leftovers! Food was fresh and tasty. Love the atmosphere and coziness of this place. We will definitely be back when visiting seaside next year!

Nice Asian on Oregon Coast

Nice Asian on Oregon Coast Best Asian we have found on the Coast. The rice was exceptional as in other reviews. Food was authentic..we liked the dishes that travel like Mandarin chicken. Important as it is takeout at the moment. But the surprises were the edamame dish. The eggplant was great. The potstickers and calamari did not travel well. I highly recommend this restaurant. Even worth a stop in Seaside as a change from clam chowder.

Just Great

I have been eating here for a few years now. The food is the best to be had in a fifty mile radius. The people who run the restaurant are really wonderful people, too. Every dish I have tried has been good. I have not tried the Bento Boxes so that is on the list. I live in Astoria but drive to Seaside when I want Chinese food. In short, if you want good Chinese food in a good atmosphere with good service, this is where you want to go.

barely gave me my Asian food fix.

there was a lot to choose from but the food was really bland. I am not saying that the food was bad, it just did not have much flavor. This was set up as take out only although there was plenty of seating ( I assume this was due to the covid issue). Being take out only, the breading was quite mushy by time we got home.

Prices too high

In addition to my previous review, let me add that, although our experience was great overall, prices have destroyed any possibility of our returning in the future. There can be only one excuse for excessive increases in prices to customers: Greed. Modest increases to ensure your business's survival are expected, but blind adherence to the business model is unacceptable to us, your customers. My wife and I would rather sacrifice going out to eat occasionally than buckle under to greed designed to maintain your lifestyle.

OK Chow Mein

You can find this restaurant at the Carousel Mall. Once again in the same day, I find a restaurant where only one person seems to be running the floor. She did a great job and she came around more often. I ordered the seafood chow mein with shrimp, scallops, calamari, and imitation crab. Lots of vegetables and I think the calamari won with what seafood was in there the most. It turned out OK. Not a lot of Chinese or Asian options in Seaside, but New Garden is not a bad one.
