Had dinner with a work group; place was busy but adequately staffed. Waiter was very poor, food was awful. Green crab cakes (was told it was parsley), hamburger's that tasted like sausage, turkey sandwich that stated fresh sliced (didn't say off what), extremely disappointing. Waiter...did not notice that we weren't eating and ignored us until it came time to hand us a check. Don't bother, there are better places in Seaside.More

We go to Norma's once a year for my son's Birthday and have been doing this for years but I think this last time will be the last. I ordered the seafood Captain's Platter which was pretty good and my husband and son ordered the...ribeye steak. I remember the baked potatoes being really small last time so my husband asked the waiter if they were bigger and the waiter said yes which they were not. They asked for their steaks to be medium but when they got them there was alot of fat and looked to be really rare and very chewy. I would have sent it back but they have heard too many horror stories sending food back to the kitchen so they did not. Could have fixed alot better rib eye at home and much cheaper. With new owners this place is not going to get much business and our business is over.More

We did not enjoy our meal here. The quality just wasn’t there. Salads were just ok. Calamari was not delicious… over fried, and served with tartar instead of the usual aioli or dipping sauce. The clam chowder is what we came for; it was such...a disappointment! The chided was flavorless and had a few, finely minced, potatoes and almost no clams. The bread the chided is served with seemed like a loaf of white bread. My daughter got the chowder in the bread bowl; even that bread was meh. Husband got the razor clams… which were like giant floppy deep fried clam steaks. We hardly ate our food. It just wasn’t good. The best part was the large glass of Pinot Noir—that was great and a generous pour. I really wanted to like this place. We arrived at prime dinner time and there was no wait; that should have been my tip off. I do have to say our server was good—responsive, quick, and friendly.More

Stopping here is simply an integral part of a 35+yr Family tradition. Norma’s provide consistent Beach food for almost every member of your family. With advanced age and health issues (LOL), I decided a few years back to pass on the fried fare, but always...find a big bowl of Chowder energizes me for the Bumper Cars. The range of our 18 member family is a challenge for any restaurant, but Norma’s always accommodates us. Mostly seafood orders, but there were a couple steaks included, a salad, chowder and a good dose of beer, wine, and milk (for the kids). Must say we had two great servers handling our mob and they were exceptional. For me, it’s more about being together with 4 generations than the food, but Norma’s is the right balance of food, atmosphere, value, and service that you don’t find around much anymore. Hopefully, we’ll all be able to be here again next year!More

Their clam chowder is truly excellent, especially if you pay the extra $2 and get the oregon bay shrimp added. We would recommend and will return for the chowder. We came here twice during our stay. The customer service during lunch was fast and attentive,...during dinner it got a little hectic and there were long wait times for beverage refills, etc. The dinner was good, however the clam strip appetizer was disappointing as while the strips looked substantial it was primarily breading with very little clam inside. The chowder is the reason to come here, and the service was better at lunch, so will return specifically for soup and garlic bread and the dungeness crab leg hot appetizer, which was delicious.More

I ordered a medium rib eye (not inexpensive) and it arrived well done. Sent it back and got another, about the same. Chef must be color blind or doesn’t have a meat thermometer. Didn’t eat that one either. Oh well. My waitress was awesome. Maybe...I should have tried seafood.More

Staff was very attentive! Huge menu to choose from. We had the fish and chips and we were able to have all four fish on the menu. We also had the calamari which was fantastic. The restaurant gives you a “diner” type feel. Glad we...found this stop on our vacation!More

I read the menu and picked this restaurant out of the others because I was in the mood for seafood. I know it sounds petty, but I'm used to oysters on the half shell being served with crackers. Not sure if it's a southern thing,...or an east coast thing, but I was surprised to be served oysters without crackers. Regardless, they were good, sweeter and juicier than most. The clam strips were some of the best I've ever had. My son had crab alfredo, and it was good, while my daughter had shrimp alfredo, also good. I would go back again, only with a sleeve of Saltines tucked into my bag for the oysters. We were fortunate to walk in without a wait, and the service was pretty good. Not great, but still a 4 out of 5 experience.More

Great food. Excellent service. Can't remember the waitress's name but she was a great help to us in making sure we ate food that was memorable. Best Clam Chowder.

I have been waiting a long to go here. I took my family there because of having people tell me it was amazing. The staff was amazing. My sister in law had a burger, it looked awesome and she said it was great. My mother...in law had the cobb salad. The salad had rotten tomatoes cut up on it. I had the chowder, salad and bread. The chowder was gritty from the flour in it, it was horrible. My husband had the 4 piece combo. It came out wirh just salmon on the plate. They took 3 pieces of salmon off the plate and brought back his mostly empty plate...then he waited for the other 3 pieces of fish. The pieces were very small, i would say 3 small bites of each...not good flavoe and he paid an extra $3 for the chowder... the garlic bread was soggy, the strawberry lemonade was really good. They did give us 10% off of our bill due to the problems with our order, but for a lunch for 4 being over $100. The food should have been great. I wanted it to be great, but instead i sit here, 7 hours later with my stomach churning. I can look past a lot but when i saw that tomato wedge with several rotten spots on it, someone is not paying attention. It was supposed to be a special day and was ruined by the meal. We won't go back...we can't.More

My fiancé and I have always raved about this place. It’s been our ‘go to’ in Seaside for years. However what a disappointing experience we had this weekend that will result in us NEVER coming back. Appetizers were great. Then we got fish & chips...(tried each of the 4 types) and they got a steak. Our fish was so tough and chewy, but we let that go. Their $34 steak was absolutely not cooked to order. When politely asked to get it corrected, the waitress kindly took it back. A few minutes later she brings it back and says the cook says it’s correct and we’ll have to either eat the now cold, overly cooked steak or pay for another one. WHAT? I’m never one to send stuff back but this was expensive and way over cooked. In shock we said ok, paid and left. I have never been so disappointed in the food and we will never be back. We’ll also be sharing our experience with all we know because this was appalling! In speaking with another establishment they said there’s been new owners and they’ve heard similar complaints since. Don’t waste your money, eat somewhere else!More

Doing a Google search it appears to be only on Mondays, between Nov and February. However, my husband and I always share a meal and find that it is plenty for both us at any time.
