I brought a couple friends here for a small get together, and we didn't plan on staying long but the décor was so inviting and service so on point that we stayed hours longer than we had anticipated. It was a busy night but we...More

We went for dinner, late one night… It is inside the hotel of The Nines. The service was excellent and the menu, especially the steak selection was fantastic. The side dishes are to die for! They have a full wine and bar menu available. There...More

Saturday evening dinner for 3. Steak heavy menu with high prices (~$45-$65 steak, entree only). My NY strip, while cooked perfectly, was average at best, certainly well below typical steak house quality. The chicken dish was dry. Side dishes were nothing special. The service was...More

Rick, Thank you for providing us with feedback on your recent dining experience. I appreciate you being able to take some time to compose this review. I was able to look up your check from your dining experience and wanted to ask more about the...More

For $52, I expect a ribeye with more meat than fat. However, at this restaurant, the proportions went the other way. When you call yourself an urban steakhouse, you should be able to stand by and deliver according to the name. The one saving grace...More

In town on business, I chose the Urban Farmer for breakfast because they open at 6:30 AM. It's more expensive than I would usually eat for breakfast, but I was on an expense account so I decided to treat myself. I had the Dungeoness Crab...More

Four of us had a great lunch here while staying here at the Nines over the eclipse weekend. Service was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was quite delicious. The restaurant is a creek to the hotel!

I came here for breakfast during the weekday. It wasn't that busy, but the food was awesome! The atmosphere is cool, but not as cool as it looks like in the pictures. Either way, I would definitely go back. It was pretty expensive though!

The food was incredible, great steak, amazing sides. All fresh/farm to table. Unfortunately the service did not match the food. We had to wait over an hour for our food to arrive. Even then we had to flag someone down to check on it because...More

This is located in the 9's hotel. We went on a Monday morning and had the most delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, their specialty french toast (with real maple syrup) and an excellent skillet pancake. The service was prompt and friendly and the prices were...More

No way. We found the service disinterested, and the place itself is very self absorbed, but it wasn't that slow.

I follow a gluten free diet and was able to easily eat gluten free at Urban Farmer. Some restaurants say food is gf and then I have a reaction, but not at UF. All clear!

Urban Farmer redefines the modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients and simple, straightforward preparations within a farmer chic environment. The menu honors national and local culinary traditions sourcing ingredients from some of the Northwest’s finest eco-friendly producers like Sudan Farms, Wooden Bridge, Nicky Farms, and Cattail Creek. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour, Urban Farmer remains a reliable and approachable destination amidst Portland’s bustling food scene.Designer David Ashen of D-ASH Design in New York created a unique restaurant space within the 8th floor atrium lobby of the Nines Hotel. The space makes use of organic, reclaimed and modern materials such as a 20-foot communal table sourced from an old-growth Douglas Fir. The spacious “Deck” captures the light-hearted feel of outdoor dining and is accented by a field of wheat grass in the center of the room. A video installation by one of Portland’s favorite experimental artists, Matt McCormick, rolls stunning images of the city’s rural and urban landscapes. The “Pantry” offers an intimate setting with walls of steel and reclaimed timber, as well as shelves stacked with vibrant jars of pickled fruits and vegetables. The Library , adjacent to Urban Farmer in the lobby, is the ideal venue for guests to host private parties, play a game of pool or enjoy a quiet cocktail.
