This is a beautiful restaurant that will make you feel special and indulged. However, on my last review I said my eggs Benedict arrived cold. Since then I've eaten here 2 more times. Once I had a crab omelette that was divine. Then I tried...More

For $55 for 2 people for breakfast I expect something pretty special. Avocado Benedict was tasteless, over cooked and over priced. To add potatoes was an additional charge and was an undercooked frozen hash brown patty. Staff was uppity...I hate uppity. Never again...oh...bonus...got to see...More

Super Expensive. Honey in every single dish (I am allergic to honey). doesn't make sense to take anything else but the stake, all other stuff is quite tasteless. Great service though.

One of the best meals we had in Portland. Beautiful decor in a great location. Urban Farmer is located on the 8th floor of The Nines hotel. Staff are friendly and efficient. The short rib hash on the daily fresh sheet was to die for

Proud Portland design friends were happy to show-off this brilliant spot in an atrium in a clever, very stylish hotel "the Nines". Also an amazing rooftop bar with interior/exterior spaces and unbelievable views. Having only had brunch we have not sampled the advanced menus but...More

On the eight floor of the hotel in an interior open space at least eight stories high, it’s an interesting space. Came here for desserts after dinner at Departure on the rooftop of the building. The desserts were all first rate.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner this evening at Urban Farmer. We started off with and loved the carrot soup and the Heirloom tomato/mozzarella crostini. Both dishes were very tasty! He had the 12 oz. flat iron steak which was perfectly cooked. I...More

Eaten here twice with good food and atmosphere both times. Steak and other choices are top-end, but the feel is more Portland "neauveau cuisine" than chop house. Not cheap, but nither was the quality. Choices of sides is tough as there were 4-5 that we...More

No way. We found the service disinterested, and the place itself is very self absorbed, but it wasn't that slow.

I follow a gluten free diet and was able to easily eat gluten free at Urban Farmer. Some restaurants say food is gf and then I have a reaction, but not at UF. All clear!

Urban Farmer redefines the modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients and simple, straightforward preparations within a farmer chic environment. The menu honors national and local culinary traditions sourcing ingredients from some of the Northwest’s finest eco-friendly producers like Sudan Farms, Wooden Bridge, Nicky Farms, and Cattail Creek. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour, Urban Farmer remains a reliable and approachable destination amidst Portland’s bustling food scene.Designer David Ashen of D-ASH Design in New York created a unique restaurant space within the 8th floor atrium lobby of the Nines Hotel. The space makes use of organic, reclaimed and modern materials such as a 20-foot communal table sourced from an old-growth Douglas Fir. The spacious “Deck” captures the light-hearted feel of outdoor dining and is accented by a field of wheat grass in the center of the room. A video installation by one of Portland’s favorite experimental artists, Matt McCormick, rolls stunning images of the city’s rural and urban landscapes. The “Pantry” offers an intimate setting with walls of steel and reclaimed timber, as well as shelves stacked with vibrant jars of pickled fruits and vegetables. The Library , adjacent to Urban Farmer in the lobby, is the ideal venue for guests to host private parties, play a game of pool or enjoy a quiet cocktail.
