Always cool, friendly, and tasty! Take the free bikes out and hit the beach. Good times are guarenteed!

Don’t get it…the food here is sub-par and the service on most days is lacking. We have given this several tries cause we love the outdoor deck, (dogs welcome), but unless you are a huge drinker, we do not consider this an acceptable spot to...eat. The food just isn’t that good. I don’t get the 5-star reviews. To each his own I guess.More
The ambiance of the facility is delightful. Can not say enough good about my experience. Staff was friendly and very attentive to details to provide a very pleasurable time.
Each McMenamin's is unique, with fun artwork depicting the history of the area and the people. Mid-afternoon was quiet with only 10 people in the restaurant/bar. Great friendly service and several choices for people who eat gluten-free, like me. We had a table overlooking the...golf course and deck. Friendly and efficient service, giving us history of the golf course and hotel.More
The bartender, the drinks and the food were awesome. He lit a fire and had the game on. A fun evening for sure.
Going to any McMenamins is a fun experience. The Sand Trap is part of one the oldest golf courses out west. The dining rooms are quite eclectic, but fun. The staff here is fairly friendly. The server did a great job. I ate inside but...still had a decent view. The golf course with mountains in the background. I ordered the salmon burger to be different. It with the fries made for a tasty lunch. I try to stop at any of their locations when out. Fun food. Fun times.More
We stopped in for lunch and dinner while staying in Gearhart. Both meals were good as were the drinks. No complaints by any in our large party. Super friendly staff as well.
I had called & asked about reservations on the outside deck for my husband's 60th birthday. I was told they do not do reservations but I could call 1/2hr before to see if the deck would be open. I explained that due to Covid he...would only be comfortable eating outside and if this was not an option we would want to know ahead of time to make other plans. I was then told I could call the morning of. I called the next morning and was told the deck would be available and we could call 1/2hr ahead to be put on a waitlist. That evening I called a 1/2hr ahead and then got a text that our table was ready. When we arrived the young hostess first told us there was no patio seating, there would be a long wait, and I had to explain the calls and confirmation I had received. We were seated on the patio, and as we waited, and waited for our food we were happy we had ordered the tater tots my son suggested. We did not time it but our dinners took close to an hour and a half! Our poor waitress apologized that they only had 2 chefs for the entire place. Not her fault, and we understand a lot of the local businesses are struggling to get up to speed with staff since Covid. We were told that the outside tables would have blankets. When we asked our waitress she told us that the counter next to the hostess would have these. My husband came back to say that the person he asked, said they didn't have a key to access them. Our waitress was able to procure a couple of heated ones for us. I'm not sure who or where management was but the communication and organization were not good. You would think they would have their servers taking around free fries or such for all the tables that had to wait so long. We saw another table that had been there longer than us with young children who were getting pretty cranky and out of control. Surprisingly the food was decent, but we were also pretty hungry. What a crummy 60th birthday dinner. It seems that this restaurant gets by with its location and capacity. Food is OK, but you take your chances on the wait and service.More
Fabulous, cozy and your own putting green to boot. Typical eclectic McMenamins with full bar, fire pit and cozy interior building. This place is tucked away among bunkers. Walk in only.
Great happy hour, old wood old irish pub, great service and drinks. Part of an overall wonderful Mcmenamins experience
We stayed at the resort across the street and decided to hit up The Sandtrap for breakfast and dinner. They had great choices for both and even though take out is the only option, everyone was so nice and accomdating. The biscuits and gravy and...pancakes were awesome! We got the 19th hole and the cranberry chicken salad sandwiches for dinner with tots and a side salad. Both were delicious. The chicken salad is a bit saucier than i usually like, but it was still very good and filling. Definitely will hit them up next time we are in Gearhart.More
Civic forced closure so ordered and took food back to room. That wasn't a problem. Taste and consistency was disappointing.
It's a cool place to hang out on a chilly or rainy afternoon. We stopped in for lunch since we love the McMenamins Edgefield. The beers are always good. The food was acceptable. Unfortunately, the bartenders had to serve everyone in the bar area. The...service was alright; I have the feeling the staff had been working some long hours. I would give them a second chance; they could have been having a bad day.More
Took awhile to get service. Guy didn't care at all we were there. We were older couples. Young people came in. He was right on them and friendly. Had to ask 3 times for water. Food was cold and no silverware just poor. When you...spend the high prices they are asking. Food better be worth it. It's notMore
I hadn’t tried this outlet before. I tried it during the pandemic when restaurants started reopening. I tried the fish and chips. The fish was good, the fries were overdone, but well seasoned. It filled me up. I think I’ll try a burger next time....If you stop, you are within walking distance to the beach.More
