I'm from South Texas and am a fan of good Mexican, Colombian, and Cuban food. Many of the restaurants were in Houston, San Antonio, and DFW areas. Delicioso!!! But El Rio Verde, even though I so wanted it to be, was nothing special. Take it...from this native south Texan and don't expect too much. I really want to give it 2.5 stars.More

Super local and super authentic. Don’t judge this book by it’s cover, staff is friendly and food is legit. We have had burritos, tacos, flautas, etc and all are delicious. They season and flavor the meats really really well. It’s a very down to earth...and local place, so don’t expect anything more than great food. Love this place and highly recommend.More

We ate here because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor, and we were not disappointed. From the outside, this is not a restaurant that I normally would have stopped at, in a neighborhood that I would have avoided. The many cars parked around it was...the first sign that this should be good. This is not a fancy place at all, just excellent food. I had a beef burrito, and it was great. It was huge, and the taste was wonderful. Prices were very reasonable.More

Always will be the best! The shredded beef burrito with a side of Diablo sauce (no lettuce) is one of my favorite meals in Tulsa. I added a grilled jalapeño today. Would love to try their parole but the only serve it on the weekends...and it is sold out quickly. Their breakfast is amazing. You’re welcome.More

The last time I ate here was 8 months ago. It was ranked #6 of 1323 restaurants in Tulsa. Today is is ranked #6 o 905 restaurants. So glad El Rio Verde is still here. I got there about 9:15 and was immediately seated and...order taken. It was only after I ordered and wondered where everyone else was, that I checked and discovered Trip Advisor says they open at 8:30am. Their Facebook page says 9:00am. Yelp says 10:00am. After I'd been there and started eating, another couple came in. I've messaged the establishment advising them of this glitch. Of course my Huevos Rancheros were just as good as I remembered.More

A great place, off the beaten path, for very good, authentic Mexican food and good service at a good price. Great spot to meet for lunch.

This gives you pause as you look from the outside. But inside clean, very attentive staff, and food was good. My husband ordered fajita burrito with steak- it was ok, a little dry so added salsa ( filling portion similar to Hos Peppers), I ordered...the wet burrito with shredded beef-- soooo good, lots of meet inside and toppings yummy. My husband could have ordered his "wet" and liked his better. Salsa was mild. The queso dip had a little kick and would always order. Delicious!More

Cold morning with a couple of errands to do. Decided to hit up El Rio Verde for some Huevos Rancheros. Got there right after 10:00 when they open. Plenty of parking on the street and in their lot. Booths all along the south wall with...3 couples spaced apart per CDC guidelines, many 4 - 6 top tables and a long counter to the north. I was greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere. Since it was a solo trip, I chose the counter in front of the large flat screen TV. Given silverware, breakfast and lunch menu. I ordered a Jarritos (Mandarin) for $1.99 and Huevos Rancheros, eggs over easy ($7.95), I also got a basket of chips and salsa ($1) which I didn't really need. The salsa was okay but not nearly as good as Cancun International Restaurant on Lewis. My waiter was very pleasant and made sure I had what I needed. Offered condiments if I needed. I didn't. I was a very good meal but I couldn't finish it. While I was finishing up a customer, apparently well known to the staff came in without a mask and sat at the counter two stools away from me. I quickly finished up and paid at the cash register. Even though Tulsa has mandates, not everybody abides by them. I might go back at a time when it's likely to not be crowded but I'm eliminating establishments that don't even try to make sure customers are abiding by the guidelines.More

Food was fresh and fast. Restaurant was small but clean. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Kids from 6 to 17 enjoyed as well as adults. They grow their own peppers outside the store which everyone thought was great!
