We are always looking for new places to try and love Harts Mansion, so we decided to give the Normandy a try since its right down the street. I wasn’t sure if they took reservations so I called and they did, so that was a plus, or so I thought. When we arrived we walked in and there must have been 3-4 staff members, all of whom looked at us and never asked if we had reservations, if we needed seated, helped or anything, just ignored us and went on with there day, so we stood there like idiots until finally a waitress in the back said we could take a seat anywhere empty….. while we looked to see what was open I saw a small name tag with my name on it at a reserved table in back. Once the seating situation was finally under control, Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I had the 10oz Filet and my husband the 14oz Ribeye, all dinner’s come with soup, Salad, potato and Vegetable…..lots of food, no one will leave hungry.
The soup was not good in my opinion it was tomato and bacon soup but it was super chunky with onions and celery in it (not my idea of velvety tomato soup). Salad was a small dinner salad w/ dressing that comes out in a fast food packet (they could at least pour it in a salad dressing cup to make it look homemade lol) My steak was a nice size but had a good amount of fat on it for a filet, my husbands steak was extremely fatty way more then a normal ribeye. I think overall the steaks were just not high quality. They were cooked in a skillet or hot plate as they had a very big crust on them, the best part was they were actually cooked medium like we ordered. The veggie was brussel sprouts which i think were just frozen steamed ones as they were very mushy. I had the home fries which were more like fried sliced potatoes, they were thick potato slices and were seasoned nicely but not home fries. My husband had the grilled baked potato which he said was pretty good. We didn’t have any alcohol and our bill was $66.00, not terrible, but the food was not impressive so I doubt we go back.

So I ate at the Normandy Inn for the first time today, and I definitely give them 5 stars!! I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail as an appetizer and I was not disappointed. They were more than Jumbo. My server; Mary; knew what she was doing and her timing was spot on. When I was eating the last shrimp she was there at the table with a fresh coke and my salad. The Roll was served HOT, not just warm, and came with the options of prepackaged whipped topping or what appeared to be homemade whipped butter (possibly with a hint of honey?) When I finished with my salad, Mary quickly came by removed the plates, brought me a fresh coke and I asked her for some horseradish when she brought my Ribeye. I did not have to wait long before my steak was served PERFECTLY cooked, and not overly seasoned. I had opted for the baked grilled potato and was not disappointed. Mary checked back with me after I had time to try everything, not too soon and not too late. I witnessed her interact with 2 different children one who was at the end of their meal and one who had just came in. She called each child by their first name and interacted with them in a respectful but not childlike manner. When she took the child's order she addressed them directly and made the choices understandable to a child. The child had ordered a burger and instead of asking if the child wanted American or Swiss, Mary asked "do you want cheese? White or yellow? And when the child answered white, Mary said Swiss out loud giving the father a chance to correct if the child did not like Swiss. She also spoke to the kitchen staff about making a special accommodation for the child regarding the side item he wanted :) I asked Mary a couple of questions, how long she had worked for Normandy Inn and how long she had been a server. And even though she has a bit of time as a server under her belt, It is very rare that I have had service as perfectly timed as Mary executed it, and I have rarely seen the respectful attention that she gave to the children, allowing them to be; at least for the moment; peers.
The restaurant was very clean, noise levels were appropriate if not lower than expected for a restaurant/bar during dinner hours. It was a calm and relaxed atmosphere, and based on this experience , I would recommend this restaurant 10 out of 10 times. Kudos for a job well done Normandy Inn, And I hope you understand how much of an asset Mary is to your team as well!!

Fast food and seating, busy place, pretty popular, has a bar, and additional regular seating for small and perhaps medium size parties

I have visited the Normandy a few times and it has been great each time. Salad bar is always clean, neat and fresh. I ordered the Boston strip and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I chose beer fries and green beans for my side and they were delicious. We sat on the beautiful deck outside, it was such a relaxing atmosphere in the quaint little town of Minerva.

The grilled, smoked salmon was superb. The best I've ever tasted. The owner smokes his own fish and meat. The brisket was excellent. Have eaten there many times and will continue to do so.

We had a large party and the server made mistakes on about half of the orders. She did not offer to make corrections or adjust our bill. It is very unlikely we will return with friends.

I got the Normandy Inn Special which is a 16oz Boston Strip. What a steak! Cooked how I wanted it, Medium, melted in my mouth and had just the right amount of seasonings to make my mouth water for the next bite! I only gave it a 4 because of the crammed location of the salad bar and hostess station.

The fish is what we always get. It's crispy and flaky and tasty. Also the Steaks are delicious and grilled to perfection, they melt in your mouth. My husband also likes they're BBQ Ribs. Juicy and tender and cooked to perfection.

Stopped at the Normandy Inn for dinner. I sat at the bar since I was by myself. The Flat Iron Steak was the special of the evening for $10 so I thought I would try it. It was great. I ordered the steak medium rare. It was very tender, juicy, and good flavor like you would expect out of a rib eye or strip. My choice of potato was the grilled baked potato, a Normandy favorite and it hit the spot! Side veggie was green beans. I did not do the salad bar, it was $3 extra. Service was good. Nice Job Normandy!

My husband and I had dinner at the Normandy Inn. The restaurant is in an old house and the atmosphere was charming. Service was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I both had the pork chops. They were delicious, well seasoned and very juicy. I had a grilled baked potato which was very good. The salad bar is a little lacking. It's tucked in the back of the restaurant behind a wait station and I felt like I was somewhere that only employees should be. It was a small salad bar but the house dressing was tasty. Our "hot rolls" were hot but I could tell they were heated in a microwave which gave them a soft and too chewy texture. All in all it was a good meal and we will probably try them again.
