We attended Valentine's lunch here as two couples. The food was great and portions appropriate for lunch - not huge, just right. The stuffed peppers are a local dish, very nice. The lemon shrimp is served with rice and a very yummy healthy option. The steak sandwich was quite good. The Mansion chicken is a hearty serving of chicken and pasta. The homemade bread was incredible. The service was high level. The inside is a beautiful 1860 home. I do wish there was a handout (or back of the menu or framed on the wall) that told the story of the Mansion. Very special special occasion place.

We have known about the Harts Mansion forever and lived in the area for over 15+ years however we just never seemed to make it over here for one reason or another…..and then we finally did and man oh man we went twice in a month and have reservations set for next month! This will be one of our new go to restaurants. I recommend reservations as the place is not huge. Its perched at the top of the hill overlooking the quaint town of Minerva. Beautifully restored mansion with a quiet ambiance. The food is next level and is right up there with big city dining. We started with the crab stuffed shrimp and they were divine, that mornay sauce is fantastic, on the second visit we had the stuffed peppers, also an excellent choice, the portions are small and each apps is enough for two people. On our first visit I had the Thai shrimp and Filet…..WOW this was so great, it was hard for me not to order it again on the next visit but I tried the Orange Roughy & Shrimp, also delicious…but not quiet as good as the Thai Shrimp. The first trip I had the cajun potato wedges which were good but I was so full I only was able to eat one. My husband had the Ribeye in the first visit which was top notch, and the second time he got the Thai shrimp and filet because he thought mine was so good. Meals come with soup or Salad & Bread. Sides are extra and on our second trip we split the Tuscan Fries, which I recommend the most out of all the sides. The Dessert is also a must I love the coconut cake, my husband the Brandy Alexander Chocolate cake, we got these to go and they were wonderful, all homemade in house. This is just 5 star unexpected dining in a small town, must stop if your in the area. Service was also top notch, Melinda is the best!!!

Ok Review number 2, I just have to say that it has been a bit of a while since I’ve been back to the mansion, but as always it is a treat and I always ask myself why it took so longs to get back here. This visit my wife and I stopped out for a Thursday night out, as the mansion is close by, we gladly came to Minerva. Again for a Thursday night the food, options and service were all top notch! My wife went for the Crab stuffed Shrimp, ok so she is a bit of a seafood snob, but wow was she in heaven! Ample serving and super tasty, As I was buried in my Cajun Ribeye, I was hesitant to take her up on the offering, but she INSISTED!, ok fine. We usually compare meals and have a great deal of fun deciding who was the winner at each of our outings, my steak was perfect, but I did kind of let her win, just for unique points only. Both meals were off the charts, the Mansion NEVER disappoints, closing the night I had a unique Brûlée with berries, YUM, So from my opening salvo of wonderful Balvenie single malt to My creamy Brûlée it was just another wonderful night at one of our favorite hidden treasures.

The Hart Mansion is one of our special occasion restaurants. We enjoyed our early September 2021 visit to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered entrees that we’ve had in the past (Chicken Marsala and Caramel Apple Pork), and really enjoyed them, although the sauce recipe for the Marsala changed since the last time I’d ordered it there. Service was excellent, but the online system for making reservations didn’t seem to work right. When I hadn’t received a response for several days, I called and I got the impression from the hostess on duty that they didn’t have the reservation; lucky I called a couple of days before we went.

Thank you for joining us for dinner! I think a knew trend should start of having dessert first- enjoy your dessert than take some entrée home for a snack! (If there are any children reading this I'm kidding!)

Hey, shouldnt a Sunday brunch menu have more than 2 egg items with more than just scrambled eggs? Then all other items are just the same old stuff. We drive an hour for a less than exciting menu selection. I can stay local and get more. The money doesn't matter when you drive for an hour. Skip the brunch, go for a lunch on a Saturday menu. Me

Husband and I had a drink before dinner in their bar upstairs. Cozy place! He had shrimp and scallops. I had the red snapper special. We had artichoke dip for an appetizer, rather large could have fed 6 people. He had a chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was delicious especially the pumpkin soup which came with my meal. Always a treat to dine here. I was surprised other diners came in shorts and t shirts. We think of this place ans a finer dining. Too casual for me, but enjoyed the experience once again!

Perched high on a hill overlooking the city of Minerva, OH, this beautifully maintained mansion and grounds offers much in the way of culinary perfection and class.

The food is super good. The atmosphere is great. Be sure to go upstairs to the bar and look out the window, you can get an awesome view of town. The soups are the best I have ever tasted. We have never had a bad ( or even average) meal here. Always superb.

We love to visit this restaurant for special occasions. We have had the pleasure of trying several of the appetizers and entrees and have never been disappointed. The desserts are to die for. They have a great craft beer and cider menu and the service is always spot on. This is a great gem in Minerva and highly recommended.

Our hiking club made a reservation here on a Wednesday for lunch and we had a whole room to ourselves. The service was excellent. This is a very elegant old house high up on a hill overlooking the town. Our orders were taken quickly. The menu for lunch was very reasonable - entrees from $10 to $15 including a salad. the food was excellent. I had the chicken Mediterranean special with bowtie pasta; some of my friends raved about the Delmonico steak. Warm bread was served also. Several people ordered desserts after they were brought out in a pretty presentation sampler tray. All in all a very good experience and we will be back!

My husband and I took our daughters out for dinner tonight. When we were walking up to the door, we clearly saw that there was empty seating upstairs looking at the windows (where we usually choose to sit). When the Goth hostess asked us if we had reservations, we told her that we would like to be seated upstairs. She then looked us up and down and asked us to wait. While we waited, 3 men, unprofessionally dressed walked in and proceeded to walk upstairs. Another hostess approached us and asked us the same questions that the Goth hostess asked. We repeated that we would like to be seated upstairs like we usually do. The owner, Richard’s daughter walked up to us and said that there was not anything available upstairs for 4 people. We told her that we would be fine with 2 tables. She reluctantly went upstairs and came back down and said that there was only one table open for two.... We CLEARLY knew she was lying!!!!! We will NEVER return!!! It’s a shame! This was the second time she was extremely rude to us!!!! Also the last!!!!!

Three of us ate at the Hart Mansion this afternoon for the first time. The waitress (Julia) was pleasant and the building itself is a gem. The food; meh, definitely not the best. The pumpkin soup raved about in other reviews is good but thin and over-seasoned with cinnamon. Our bruschetta was chibatta bread with garlic, cheese, balsamic vinegar, & tomatoes and would have been much better if toasted adequately. The waitress dissuaded me from the Korean BBQ pork and recommended their #1 seller maple apple pork instead. It was very VERY sweet and consisted of 3-4 thin slices of pork loin swimming in a corn starch-ey maple sauce with a side of deep fried potatoes. My wife's chicken stuffed with spinach & feta was very overcooked; dry, tough, and so salty that it was inedible. Our guest's salad w/chicken was fine except for the dry overcooked chicken.
This is really unfortunate. The venue is a charming old mansion and we look for private family owned & operated high end restaurants to frequent; we would heartily recommend this place except for the food; a major disappointment.

Pro: friendly staff, unique historical venue, pretty surroundings, fast service (we were only customers) Bread was warm/flavorful. Brushetta appetizer was tasty. Facility is handicapped accessible.
Con: Very small menu, overpriced. The chicken on pasta was dry, no real pesto- only basil and oil. Bland entree. Salad dressing bland, salad small and unremarkable. Steak with pepper topping average, not very flavorful or tender. Food was 5 out of 10. Small portions. You are basically paying for the unique venue.
