I had friends over from the mainland and was eager to have them try the great fish and chips but we walked away after being treated rudely and even felt threatened by the staff member . Due to the loud obnoxious behaviour from a male...kitchen staff member and the rude woman at the counter I won’t he back!More

Stopped in after mountain biking and the chips were fantastic. Nice and crispy but soft inside. Definitely would go back.

We got a 2 person meal deal for a good price, but I wish I had of known the fish was quite small as I would have ordered more. The fish was so beautiful, it fell apart so easily and did not have a fishy...flavour. My 5yo daughter devoured a piece to herself.More

A mixed bag. Fish and chips were ok, but expensive at $32 for two fish and chips (takeaway) and whatever you do don’t order potato cakes.

This place is covid safe. Everything about it is covid safe. We ordered fish and chips and just a fish for 2. We should have only got the fish and chips, however, the seagulls loved it. The fish was sweet and not dry at all....Chips yum. As mentioned, the covid procedures here would quell anyones concerns. Friendly service, plastic gloves, beepers in paper bags. Sensational.More

Great local seafood, delicious salad and fresh prawns! It will be great when they have more than flake on offer for grilled fish. The employee working said they were working on perfecting their grilled fish options.

Went in to buy some fresh fish to cook ourselves for dinner. I normally hate the smell of a fish shop but this place didn’t smell bad. However once the server opened the tub of fish we selected the bad smell came. Still didn’t think...anything of it until we opened the packet to cook our fish and OMG! it was horrendous! They sold us very off fish. This should not happen.More

We have visited Skippers many times over the years but have never struck staff as rude as today. I put my head in the door to count how many customers were inside as the sign on the door said twelve. I would have made the...twelfth one but I was told to get back out the door. I waited till more left then entered with husband and son. They selected what they wanted and left to wait outside while I ordered. While I was waiting to order my husband and son walked around to the bay side of the boat to wait. The staff member taking orders opened the window and told them if they had ordered to get off the boat. Very rude!! I appreciate Covid rules but if you want people to wait off the boat perhaps put up a sign explaining your expectations, not a staff member barking commands. We witnessed an elderly couple who stepped back inside to wait for their order, obviously trying to avoid the 35 degree heat, told to get back outside. Rude!! The said staff members comment to many customers was ‘ go outside find some shade and wait’ has she waited outside in the shade before because there isn’t any. As a business owner ourselves we appreciate having to deal with customers all day, but they are the ones keeping your business going so it is should be a top priority to BE POLITE. Couldn’t fault the food it was beautiful just the one staff member who needs to not be serving customers.More

From the get-go, I was impressed. From the cleanliness of the shop, to the friendliness of the staff - wearing matching outfits. We called in on our way to the beach and pre-ordered our takeaway fish & chips to collect an hour later. On return,...our order was ready to go, and everything was just perfect. Definitely the best fish & chips we had during our stay at St Helens. We'll be back!More
