From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome at Furneaux. We started with delicious seafood and Lobster Ravioli and a cheese soufflé that melted in our mouths...full of flavor. Our main of Atlantic Salmon was cooked beautifully served with a well balanced...creamy sauce...yum yum yum! Local wine was a hit and the Creme Brûlée is a MUST! The extra touches throughout the night such as the sorbet pallet cleanser and petit fours were such a treat. Rhiannon was a breath of fresh air - a great balance of conversation and good service! Nice to meet the chefs and feel their enthusiasm for their craft! Thank you team and keep up the good work! This delightful restaurant is highly recommended!More

What a delight. Fabulous food. The main course was succulent lamb with a suggestion of mint. The dessert was croquembouche - Wow! Loved the service; chatted to the chefs and thought the service was wonderful. Don’t miss this restaurant. It’s the best meal I’ve had...in a long time.More

We are from Victoria and while planning a trip to Tassie for Easter, the reviews for this beautiful restaurant prompted me to make a reservation in January to ensure we wouldn't miss out while staying at St Helen's tonight, and I have to say that...we were not disappointed. Rhiannon was absolutely lovely, whose service was superb and included a real interest in talking to you over and above taking your order and we have to say that this was the best meal at the best restaurant with the best staff that we had ever experienced. From the beautiful Seafood Raviole, to the Fillet Steak, to the desserts of Crepe Suzette and Creme Brulee, the balance of flavours was beautiful, and the appetiser and home baked bread and palate cleanser in-between was amazing, and was an experience we will never forget. It was also lovely to have the opportunity of meeting the chefs, and telling them how much we enjoyed their food. Do not miss out on experiencing this wonderful restaurant. It deserves every one of its five star ratings. We will be back!More

The meal was excellent and exceeded expectations. The staff were on the ball and could not be faulted. As the evening progressed the full moon cast its light over George's Bay adding to our dining experience. Overall a wonderful night Thank you

Best food we have had for a long time. Excellent service, beautifully prepared and served food with delicious sauces. Seafood ravioli, salmon entree, duck confit and perfectly cooked eye fillet were much appreciated. Husband also had a dessert which was a spectacular crepe tower with...white chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries. We will most definitely be back. Also, excellent wheelchair accessibility with parking options - one near motel main reception and another right at the front of the restaurant. Care was taken to seat us in what appeared to be the best table in the house - right at the front overlooking the bay. Restaurants often don't take into consideration that wheelchair users actually need access between tables. Beautifully done folks - thank you for a memorable evening.More

We had a fabulous dinner here on a Tuesday night, it was quite busy so booking is definitely recommended. Our waiter Riannon was very friendly and attentive, even while being super busy. The food was all just absolutely beautiful, the salmon with prawns and mash...that I had for mains was the best salmon dish I have ever eaten. My partner had beautiful steak which he loved as well. It was lovely that the chef also made an appearance later in the night and spoke to all the table, it was such a nice personal touch.More

We had a meal at the restaurant whilst we were staying in St Helens - we booked a table. It’s only a small restaurant - the food was beautiful and service was fantastic. The little extras were a lovely surprise- being visited by the chef...after the meal and offered a lift home was above and beyond - would highly recommend the restaurantMore

Came across this restaurant by accident while holidaying in Tasmania, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Knowledgeable and very attentive staff. The food was truly exceptional - perfectly prepared and presented. They seem to space bookings so that not everyone arrives at once, giving the kitchen...sufficient time to exercise their skills. My wife and I could not fault any of the dishes that we ordered. The wine list was not extensive, however there was sufficient choice and I was pleased with my choice (a Petite Chardonnay) as it perfectly complemented the food. Serving sizes were just right (not too much or too little). I have never had reason to review a restaurant before, however this positive experience compelled me to want to write this review, as soon as I got back to our apartment.More
