Sooo much better than the porter and sorter. Friendly welcome, great selection of beers at incredible prices. Great selection of food and really enjoyable. Quite full and deservedly busy. We’ll be back

Popped in after shopping, just looking round the place as you do good place to people watch usually friendly. An ex member of staff and others being loud look to be having a good time, we've seen in there a few times took offence to...this decided to caused a bit of a scene embarrassed myself and party we finished our drinks and left. Not a very pleasant experience.More
Typical Wetherspoons pub, good food and good beers and good service Not very big, so if you want to get a table, we need to get early
Popped into the George to grab lunch before heading to yrai station. Tried to order via the app. app as usual. This let me get through to payment where it stated my combination was not available. Went up to the barl where I was told...that the kitchen not taking orders for an hour. Surely there was a way of telling people rather leaving valuable customers in the dark Not at all happy.More
Was waiting to be served. Not served twice by the staff. When tried to complain. Staff was very rude to me. Security heard came and threw us out for trying to express our feeling of service iven
AVOID! As a family, we watched a young black man being chased from the premises, thrown to the ground, beaten and kicked while the manager and customers watched. Absolutley shocking and senseless violent racism. An absolute low for even this bottom feeder of a pub...chainMore
Had great curry on their Curry Thursday -- excellent quality, great value and awesome atmosphere! Proper British pub.
This pub suffered badly during covid but is now returning to its normal. Great selection of good quality real ales and great food again. The pub is once again busy but you can normally find a table and seat. Table service is very good as...is normal bar service. Toilets would benefit from some tlc. Will be back and nice to see "normality" has returned.More
No vegan breakfast available even though it's on the menu and staff could give no reason why and offered no alternatives, said the menu was probably printed before the ingredients changed... then to top it all off the drinks were lukewarm and the food was...mediocre at best. Definitely wouldn't recommend and won't waste my time or money going back there.More
Found myself at a loose end in Croydon.... Not a regular JDW drinker - but popped into the George before meeting a friend in Boxpark.... Was greeted with a big smile and thoroughly enjoyed a pint of their local Wimbledon Beer at £2.39 a pint....Incredible value for such a good beer. It was so good I got my friend to meet me here and he had a pint of San Miguel for £3.55 - not sure if we will make box park! The George is a great pub with friendly staff and we met one of their regulars who told us he courted his wife in the pub (and her name is George!)More
Friendly and good food. There are plenty of good places to eat in UK. You just need to read reviews and get a good idea of the places. We were definitely pleased here.
Experienced excellent customer service here last night. We ha a slight problem with the food and staff member Kamran dealt with the situation fairly, politely and professionally!
Met my friend in the George Mon 14th for a few beers and dinner before heading off to a football match, I had the Empire burger which came with chips and onion rings my pal had the mixed grill, both meal were cooked to perfection,...I was slightly jealous because his mixed grill was incredible and wished I'd ordered that! People quick to moan at Spoons me included but when you get food and service like this you have to applaud them. We'll be back Sunday 08.30 prior to the next footie gameMore
There is only 1 coffee machine for a very large Wetherspoons. I’m guessing The George can hold 250 customers. So massive queues to get a hot drink. Up to 10 people queuing at a time. Crazy ! Much smaller Wetherspoons have multiple coffee machines. It’s...just due to incompetent / lazy management at The George.More
