Went for the carvery. The positives were that most of the food was good BUT sadly the lamb was very fatty so didn't get eaten, the mashed swede was tasteless and the cauliflower cheese lacked cheese! However on balance it was an okay lunch. The...thing that put me off was the chap serving the carvery food. He made us very uneasy with his unusual sense of "humour". I asked a couple of simple questions regarding the different meats and each time his response was sarcastic and unprofessional. I couldn't actually tell if he was joking or not. He may think he's humorous but I disagree. I love a laugh but it just all felt very awkward and I couldn't wait to get to my table. The young lady who served our drinks was lovely and welcoming and very friendly.More

“Merry Miller” unfortunately there was nothing Merry about our meal, the lamb shoulder was like eating an old sock dry as a bone! The only saving grace was the lighting was so poor you couldn’t see the monstrosity. A small strand of fluff was found...in the burger hardly surprising considering the standard of the whole experience. One positive was the younger staff where very polite. Would I go back…only If you pointing a gun to my head!!!!More

We visited the Merry Miller on Sunday 22nd August, for the Sunday carvery. To say it was first class is an understatement! The quality and quantity of choice was just superb! Excellent choice of meats, all beautifully cooked, the roast potatoes were brown and crispy...on the outside and soft in the middle and the choice of veg was excellent. All I can say is well done to the cooks and waitresses for looking after us so well, very attentative. We will certainly be returning, no doubt about that!More

So good to be eating out again and this was a good choice on the first Wednesday opening for the pub for some time. Five of us all enjoyed variety of food, salmon (excellently pan fried), stuffed chicken with red wine sauce, beef and ale...pie. Vegetable selections very good, though not sure about the salad with roast chicken and the wine sauce. My only quibble is that I would prefer to have my sauce in a sauce -boat and not already poured all over the food, this was the salmon ond courgettes dish, next time I'll ask for the jug! However; we will be back as the food was so good!!More

Fabulous Sunday carvery - could not believe the range of choices. There were 5 different roasts, all the trimmings and loads of different vegetables. Very friendly and courteous staff. Luckily it was dry as we we were sitting outside (fully booked inside, as it's obviously...very popular).More

Don't feel sorry for this establishment post COVID and take your business elsewhere. I will never revisit and suggest you avoid a similar disappointment. A simple menu request (jacket potato with cheese and onion), was rudely rejected by our waitress curtly responding "it's not on...the menu" when on the menu are jacket potatoes with cheese (plus a topping) that are accompanied with onion in the side salad. The rudeness of the waitress was jaw dropping. One member of our party did have a jacket potato (with bacon on top, go figure) and the quality was poor at best. The potato was old or overcooked, the skin limp and tasteless. Service was very slow and there were only a handful of other diners so the establishment was not busy. We were also asked not to stand near the bar, yet later in our visit we saw others stood at the bar without masks and chatting.More

Not impressed. ordered a steak cooked medium and it was tough as old boots..also bad service and dirty glasses, complained about the steak and waiters not bothered by it, just shrugged it off! Won’t be returning.

After having lunch cancelled at another restaurant we decided to try the carvery here since we've been meaning to do it for ages - and I'm so glad we did! It was the best roast we've had in a pub. The meat was very tasty...and well cooked and very generous portion, and big shout out for the roast potatoes - our measure of a good roast - and these were deliciously crispy and fluffy on the inside. Massive selection of vegetables, all very fresh (and not at all mushy/over cooked) - and lashings of great gravy too. Will definitely be back for more - a good proper roast dinner, kept simple, and done extremely well.More

Judith. You're very welcome to bring the dog. As long as he/she is well behaved and those around you don't mind there is no problem bringing dogs to the Merry Miller. Hope to see you soon Rob
