What can I say, what a fantastic little pub. We were made welcome by the locals and by the staff. It is a veterans pub and we felt at ease there, as opposed to another local pub we shall not mention. We will definitely return...on our next visit to Wirksworth for the curry nightMore

I have been to this establishment on several occasions now and on each occasion Myself and my partner have felt very unwelcome. On the first occasion we waited over 10 minutes to be served and the bar remained vacant for all that time before we...walked out. On another occasion we waited for a drink while others were served before us, which was correct as they were there first, but on no occasion did the landlady recognise our presence, apologise for keeping us waiting or make any attempt to welcome us. I have tried this place 3 times now, but will not be making a 4th visit!More

I am sorry that during the 3 out of 3 visits you faced the same issue each time. I am amazed, considering the pub is not much larger than a caravan, you could be forgotten about or just ignored on purpose. Maybe the ‘landlady’ was...More

Really nice cozy pub, not huge but plenty of room to relax and have a nice pint. Very nice friendly staff which always makes a difference and in a lovely location. Top marks!

We always stop here for a drink and sit in the square. The pub itself is a wonderful little place with a cosy feel and a old world look. The beers are always well kept and the service is good.

British flag outside says it all, doesn't get much better inside I'm afraid. If a non British person or internationalist maybe steer clear if you know what I mean.More

What a strange review, it says far more about you than us! The “British flag” is the Union flag and certainly nothing other than patriotic, it flies outside most hotels and lots of public places. There is no ulterior motive. . Your last sentence is...More

The "secret beer garden" out the back is the draw. Nice selection of beers to choose from, and the aforementioned beer garden (really a terrace) is sheltered and "cosy". Worth a visit.
