Due to the excellent reviews we were passing through Wirksworth and decided to stop off for lunch. Unfortunately they were only able to offer toasties on a Saturday which was fine as they were cakes available as well. Unfortunately what we didn't realise is they...butter the outside of the bread on both sides and it was too greasy with the cooked cheese falling out of the toastie. We didn't eat much of the toastie and explained the situation but the lady who served us didn't rectify the situation only apologised and no offer of alternative food which was extremely disappointing. Please be aware unless you love an extremely buttery/greasy toastie then thats fine, make sure you let me know of your requirements beforehand. Sadly we will not be visiting again.More

I rarely write reviews but felt I should. We stumbled across this absolutely fantastic cafe today! From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and accommodating to a family of five including a buggy. We sat inside and had a lovely atmosphere. The cakes...were delicious, in particular the chocolate and peanut cake. We ended up staying for a second coffee. Great value for money and would definitely recommend!More

We had the daily special which was delicious and a really excellent cheese toast. Great service. Pleasant staff and exceptional value. Great cup of tea with real loose leaves. There is nothing sub standard about this place. Would be great anywhere with this standard.

After finding this lovely cafe, we try to visit at least once a week, even though we have to travel 20 miles. We just love it - the food is so innovative and we don't mind how long it takes, we are only too happy...to wait. Emma works miracles in her small kitchen and is always so cheerful - we just love it.More

We were staying in Wirksworth for a few days and popped in for a drink early one morning with our 3year old grandson. We had 2 small milkshakes which were lovely and thick,a cafatier of coffee (2 good cups) and hubby and I shared a bacon...sandwich which had plenty of lovely thick bacon between 2 slices of nice thick white bread and I think it was about £9 total. Good value, good food, friendly staff and we will be going again next time we visit.More

We sat in the courtyard at the back and had lovely coffee and delicious gluten free cake on a grey chilly day. Very friendly, very Covid safe.

I'd previously seen the cafe on TA and had been meaning to visit, but lockdown stopped that! However, we had the opportunity to go today and managed to get a seat inside, after moving from the outside to avoid a very loud lady on a...neighbouring table! What a gem of an owner - she has quite a small kitchen, but, at a very busy lunchtime, she made sure that no-one waited too long, including takeaways. The OH had the dish of the day, delicious nachos, with everything thrown at it and I had the French toast, with very good bacon and maple syrup - both were delicious. The coffee too, was excellent and we will certainly be returning to this little gem!More

A lovely family run café. My friend and I along with Elvis the dog visited on Friday. The staff that work there couldn’t have been more attentive and we had a delicious, freshly made curry. My friend requested a gluten-free & vegetarian version of the...curry and this was no issue what so ever. We finished off our meal with a cake, made by the owner’s mother who happened to be eating in the café at the time so we could pass our compliments on, I can definitely recommend the Bakewell Tart! There was a steady stream of customers, so I assume it must be a very popular choice and there is seating both inside and out and a takeaway service available. Please visit this café, it’s a must when visiting Wirksworth.More
