This place is more than just a "Tea Room" -- they serve amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Also have a liquor license. The pan fried Cod was the best meal we had while in Bonavista! Staff are wonderful and friendly. It's a very welcoming place to enjoy a fabulous meal.

Had a lovely lunch at the restaurant. Portions were more than reasonable size and very tasty! Our family had soup which was hot, great flavour but not over seasoned; salad which was fresh and crisp; chicken wraps with fresh chicken not deli meat; and the best macaroni and cheese we ever had. Wonderful service. Restrooms were very clean also.

We had dinner on a Sunday evening when they had the Jiggs dinner special. We started with the Cod bites. We ordered three sweet and three hot. The sweet were better and were very good. We also shared the Jiggs dinner with beef and gravy. It was more than enough to two to share and we asked for an extra side of the yummy gravy. This is a cute little restaurant with about ten tables inside. Service was very friendly. Try to go on a Sunday for the traditional Newfoundland Jiggs dinner. We went again for dinner the next evening and had the seafood chowder. It was served with a cheese biscuit and they kindly split it into two bowls for us. It wasn’t the best chowder I’ve ever had, but it was okay and the biscuit was good.

Oh my gracious the meal was wonderful. I had oatmeal just the way I used to have it when I was a kid. My husband loved the potatoes that came with his eggs, sausage…etc. We had a great time looking at all the tea pots around the room. Lovely atmosphere on a rainy day. We will be coming here again on our next visit.

We had a reservation so we did not have to wait. We specifically came here to try the traditional Jigg's dinner for Sunday lunch. It was the traditional dinner (salted beef, mashed potatoes, etc), which is what we wanted, but just not our taste. We also tried toutons, which tasted like the fried dough we have eaten elsewhere...and what could be wrong with anything fried? The french onion soup was really good.

We stayed in Bonavista for three days. We actually ate all of our meals at Mifflin's because we liked the staff, atmosphere and the wonderful homecooked meals. They offered daily specials and the array of desserts were far too tempting to turn down.

Our group of three adults booked into “Ocean’s Edge” for a single overnight accommodation and wished we could have spent a week in it while visiting Bonavista and area. The Ocean’s Edge has just recently opened as part of the accommodations offered by Dean and Liz, the very friendly owners of the Mifflin Tea Room and the Mifflin Inn. The Ocean’s Edge, as the name suggests, is located directly on the shore of the Bonavista Bay with an amazing ocean view from three of the four bedrooms, the living room and the large deck facing the ocean. The house was just recently built and has been finished in top notch order, with bathrooms in each bedroom, queen size beds and sitting areas with a flat screen TV in each room. The separate dining room seats 8 while the living room had two large leather sofas and additional chairs with a large flat screen TV and multiple cable channels. The deck which faces the ocean had several comfortable fold-out executive style chairs. The full kitchen was well equipped with everything you would expect in your own home, including a dishwasher! Overall, the whole experience was SO relaxing and comfortable that we were all sad to have to move on to our next stop. I would heartedly recommend contacting Dean and Liz to book into this absolutely lovely rental home any time you are even remotely in the Bonavista area!

My husband and I had an outstanding dining experience at Mifflin’s Tea Room last night. This is our first time in Newfoundland, so we just had to try the “Newfie Sampler” which we found both intriguing and delicious! The baked beans were to die for, almost the same as my mom‘s, but better somehow LOL. The roast beef dinner was also delicious, just like homemade. Their selection of desserts is extensive, all of them fresh and made by hand with love! I ordered tea with dessert, and was so pleasantly surprised when they brought me a little teapot, with a candle warmer. It’s a rare to get tea in a restaurant where they actually know how to make it! So refreshing. The tea room appears to be a favourite with locals and visitors alike, the place was packed and Staff was friendly, kind and efficient.

Nice place to dine. Food was served in huge portions and half decent. Lots of tea choices and lots of menu food options. I had the pea soup and a regular tea. Ordered a cup but honestly it was a huge bowl. Soup was okay. My partner had the seafood chowder and while it started out good by the time he got halfway through it went a tad downhill. More like cod soup he said. Mostly just cod with 4 mussels. Mind you he is a chowder snob because he compares it to what his wife makes which is loaded with all kinds of seafood. He said he wouldn't have it there again but not adverse to trying something else on the menu. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was great.

Simply excellent (And trust me, we rarely 100% satisfied with restaurant food, but this was a pleasant exception). My partner and I are not really familiar with Newfoundland cuisine, so we wanted something authentic. My partner ordered the cod gratin (delicious!) while I - the Fisherman's Brewis. I won't lie it sounded a bit questionable, but it turned out terrific and utterly tasty. It's creamy and decadent yet light at the same time and basically melt-in-your mouth. Oh yeah, we also couldn't resist and ordered a cod cake (served with a rhubarb relish), and it was impeccable. Really great combination of salty and tart. Excellent job and thank you for not disappointing us (This doesn't happen often lol)

There werent a lot of restaurants open in Bonavista at the beginning of June so this little gem was a welcome site after a wet and damp hike. It was very busy but we managed to get a table and enjoyed a sweet treat and the roasted red pepper soup which was amazing! Would defnitely recommend!!

Stopped for lunch and enjoyed some traditional Newfoundland dishes. I had been on the lookout for toutons and they didn’t disappoint! Quaint tea house that serves tea by the pot from eclectic pots in classic tea cups & saucers. A great place to relax.

This was the best food I had all weekend! I had the red pepper soup to start, with the mac and cheese, and both exceeded all my expectations. Everyone's food tasted fresh and was true comfort food. Very glad we selected this spot for lunch.

Just returned from a brief visit to Bonavista. As always the service and food at Mifflin's Tea Room were a 12 out of 10. Had the roasted red pepper soup and chicken salad croissant with homemade chocolate turtle cheesecake. My mother enjoyed their fabulous fish cakes. The restaurant was blocked as they were operating at reduced capacity but all staff were smiling and friendly and our food was hot and served quickly. Returned for breakfast and devoured the toutons, baked beans and fried bologna. Still drooling. Pro tip: call and make reservations before you leave home, and if you see a dessert you want in the magnificent dessert case (all homemade), order it immediately as there may not be any left when you finish your main course. Make sure Mifflin's Tea Room is on your travel itinerary!!

Such a warm and cozy atmosphere. The server said her aunt owns this little gem of a place. The fish cakes and seafood chowder was the best we had on this visit to Newfoundland. The server managed all the tables which were full with a smile and grace. We look forward to going back some day. :)
