Great service, prices and food. We shared the combo fajita for 1 and brought home enough for a 2nd meal. Didn't expect this to be such a great experience from the original look but this is a gem and we'll definitely return. The Margarita's were...good as well.More

A typical Mexican restaurant so expected food to be ok. We were pleasantly pleased with our meals. Staff was helpful and efficient. The choriqueso and Guacamole Mexicano appetizers were delicious and the Carnitas dinner better than average. Good job 👍

Overall good service and wide variety of choices. Great service. The enchiladas are excellent and good margaritas.

Visiting in the area, I went with friends to this restaurant for dinner on their recommendation. The waiters were mostly Spanish speaking with some English, which was great for me, as I got to use my language skills - and was understood! The food arrived...quickly, and very good. The place was packed on a weekday night, which was nice to see. Much better than chain Mex places!More

The food is very bland to say the least. The portions are very small unless you get a burrito. The staff is however friendly though some do not speak very much English.

Late lunch and empty restaurant for a Saturday. Food overall was decent. Holes in seats and pretty shabby atmosphere (picture attached). Chicken and shrimp Fajitas and tacos ... we were happy. Service was fine. No WiFi and cell service however (AT&T).

I rarely give negative reviews and really dislike doing so, but sometimes they are necessary to inform others so they can avoid a bad place and/or chose a better option. One of the workers brought chips and salsa and I asked for cheese dip. The...worker wasn't able to reply but must have understood me because I got cheese dip. The restaurant in downstairs in a big old building that a data signal wouldn't penetrate and after a long wait I became bored and wanted to ask someone if the wifi was public. I looked at 3 passing waiters and they all purposely avoided eye contact. This was probably due to not speaking English but I later found out that one spoke English well. As my wait continued I finally got up and walked over to were all 3 waiters were standing and resting and talking. I asked about the wifi and I was told it was only for the credit card machine. Anyone can configure a router to give precedence to a credit card machine or any other specific device. If the waits are as long as I experienced for most people, it would be a good idea to provide wifi so that people don't become so irritated that they walk out (especially since the building blocks regular cell and data service). I noticed that the people beside me that had came in a long time after me were all eating. I understand that some things take longer than others to prepare, but most places have dishes like carnitas already prepared. After about a 40 minute boring wait I went up and was going to pay for my coke and cheese dip. That's when the waiter showed that he actually could get in a hurry. He literally ran across the room to present the bill. Surely he didn't think I was going to pay $13 for a meal that I didn't get? I told the lady that I had waited long enough and that I had to go and that I would pay for what I had brought to me. Then the waiter followed me outside, for reasons unclear? You would think that I was skipping out on a bill they way he was acting. That place could improve. They should strongly consider providing wifi since they do have a very strong private signal. They should have the wait staff try to be friendly and personable - or at least not just ignore someone trying to get their attention. If a dish is going to take a long time to prepare, they should let the customer know that and suggest something quicker if the person isn't up for a long boring wait. They should run all of the time or none of the time, but suddenly getting in high gear to bring the bill when they couldn't be bothered with anything else is certainly bound to make people mad. Following people out the door after they have paid isn't a good idea either. I used to eat at this place every year when I visited on business but after this experience I will just save myself the aggravation. I left and went to the KFC/Taco Bell and had a few tacos. Spruce Pine does have other restaurants and I'd try any of them before wasting time here.More

We visited this restaurant this week, after having been here a couple years ago and Loving it. Not this time. We waited forever for a table and then were forgotten about when our server finished his shift... we watched people who came in after us...get their food first... we are glad it’s cheap still because damn... the burritos and enchiladas and hard tacos certainly aren’t what they used to be. Bland barely spiced meat... not seeming very authentic Mexican anymore. I was so disappointed to come here while visiting from Canada only to be let down. But again. Thank God it was cheap. You sure get what you pay for there now!More
