This restaurant totally exceeded our expectations. The mojitos , the salads, the cheese provoleta appetizer, the steaks and the chocolate soufflé were all excellent. We loved the ambiance and decor. The service was also excellent! We will return.

You do not expect this steak house to be on 9th Street in Durham, NC. When you walk in the door you are very surprised that the room is so large and inviting. The service is very good and the menu varied enough for all...tastes. It is good but not amazing. I would recommend for a nice evening out without hesitation.More

Anybody who follows my reviews knows that I don't mind paying for a really good meal if they make it worth it. This was a fairly good meal at a very expensive price. I bought the churasco because of the great reviews I read on...here. The steak was tasty but it was tough. They cut a slit in the top of the potato and put some cheese, butter and sour cream on top of it. When you open the potato up, you don't have anywhere close to enough to really make it good. My personal opinion was there was too much seasoning on the provoleta. The old fashion was perfect and the crepe was the highlight of the meal. It was perfect. The service was good, I really liked the ambience and the place was spotless clean. It would be a great place to bring a date. Who knows, maybe I just got it on a bad night.More

Historic building. Interesting architecture. Friendly host and waitress. My wife ordered the filet and I had a New York strip. Mine came undercooked. They sent it back and it was prepared to my liking. Very chewy. My wife said hers was tender. Reasonable prices.

Skirt steak is normally not a cut of meat my boyfriend and I care for. However, this steak was more tender than some filet mignons I've had. Atmosphere is quant and cozy with an upscale vibe. Highly recommend this steak house if you are in...town!More

Metro 8 is hidden away on 9th Street in Durham. From the outside, it isn't very impressive, but go inside, and you are in for a culinary treat. The food is superb, cooked lovingly by the owner. The steaks and seafood are wonderful, and the...service is always top notch. This is a great little family owned/run upscale yet casual restaurant, that my wife and I have always enjoyed.More

Don't waste your time with the chain steak houses or any other one around. The quality of the food makes up for the lack of atmosphere, but does atmosphere really matter? You'll be satisfied with your meal.

We made reservations for 5 pm with the understanding that we were attending at 6:30 pm show at DPAC. The staff was most attentive to our needs and we were out of there in plenty of time to watch the show. Now for the food...and service...it was also enjoyable and would dine there again. A quiet place for a great meal. The Chocolate Souffle was WONDERFUL!!!!More

Went for our first time. We loved it! It is on the smaller side with what appeared 10-20 tables. The place is classy yet casual - if you require a super chic steakhouse, go elsewhere. If you like very nice yet approachable with great food,...come here. We made a reservation and our table was ready. Great server with knowledgeable recommendations. The specials we're great: tuna steak rare and smaller but still big ribeye. Cooked to perfection with some pretty good loaded potatoes as sides. The menu is not huge but has a little bit of everything, from a few steak, seafood, and other options. And there are always specials. We also had some great cocktails - the Cosmo and margarita. They also had half off a bottle of wine on Wednesdays, which made prices very reasonable. So, if you want great food with some class but also don't want a pretentious steakhouse environment, this place is for you!More

No specific dress code when I've been there. Most wear neat/dressy casual. Jeans aren't uncommon, but with collared shirts - not sneakers/shorts/t-shirts.
