We were just passing through Durham for the night and chanced a visit to Blue Olive which was only .8 mi. from out Holiday Inn Express. Turned out to have been a "home run". Delicious red fish and chicken recipes. A bit on the "high...end" in $$ but well worth the price. We loved this place.More

The food here was really excellent. And the waiter was as well. His family owns the restaurant. We were there late and he couldn’t have been nicer. The food arrived very quickly and you could tell it was freshly made. I only had avgolemeno soup...and a chopped lamb appetizer but both were plenty and excellent. My husband had pasta with three kinds of mushrooms in Gorgonzola cream sauce that he ooed and aahed over with every bite. He loved his martini’s too!More

Called 10 times before they answered phone. All reservations are online, and the restaurant was listed online as having “no availability”. We were a group of five: Appetizers were tasty but tiny. Pasta and salad were not special or delicious, falafel was hard, dense, and...un-flavorful, but chicken was good. Draft beer Pony- Saruous (IPA something) made in Durham and was excellent. To order: Each guest had to scan a barcode to get the menu. If your iPhone isn’t new - it doesn’t work. I found that somewhat obnoxious, since I was celebrating a vacation escape from electronics. Yes, it was a “no touch menu”. My partner and I asked for a paper menu but it never came. To say that the cold hometown draft beer was the best part of the meal - well gosh, I had hoped for more. The Hospitality that makes one feel welcome and celebratory was lacking.More

OK to start let me say that I have been a loyal patron of this establishment for years, I have loved the food, the atmosphere. This has been just a quiet place to come after working so hard taking care of others down the street....A few times the old lady at the front had been a little snotty asking if I had a reservation, and looking around as if the place was absolutely packed, then begrudgingly seating us at one of the many empty tables. I'm an adult, and can get past stuff like this. pretty easily. How ever this time the hostess was younger, and just very disrespectful in her tone, and nonverbal cues. At first she asked how many like she was going to take us to a table, then changed her demeanor, and her tone got very snooty. "Now I do need to tell you that we close at 9PM, I can get you a menu and we can offer you a to go , I'm not going to seat you. Again her tone, and hand on her hip, and wagging finger just set me off. I pointed out that either they were open or closed, not in between, ,most establishments stop seating at closing time, and it was still 20 minutes until closing. She sassed back I said we can't seat you, you can only have take out. That got her a pretty loud "F**K Off" as I did a stern about face, and left.More

Our “Go To” Greek eatery east of Greensboro that always delivers taste, presentation and delightful Greek fare—and more. We drove 40+ miles one way to patronize them occasionally during COVID for marvelous take out and are pleased to see many returning customers and a filled...restaurant again, no doubt their having been largely vaccinated. So many dishes of renown. The salmon filets and beet with goat cheese salads are special standouts as is their Spanakopita. Calamari is lightly breaded and enjoyable while the octopus is near tender. Attentive service has always been excellent for us through the years. It’s often apparent that much of their clientele comprises loyal customers, given the knowing, mutual smiles exchanged upon their arrival and often greeting each by name. Also so nice to patronize on a cold day as the kitchen and the coziness warm the room. Sometimes we prefer a table in the bar area as it’s less crowded and we can more easily hear each other. Love the artwork in the men’s restroom. Wines by the glass are nice. P. S. Why not order a layered latte or cappuccino to end your savory experience?More

First time at this place and we were not disappointed. Lives up to everything that is written. In a strip mall along with a few other restaurants so the initial view is alittle deceiving. But we’ll worth the visit. Very reasonable prices and great service....High recommend.More

A very nice restaurant serving authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The food is delicious and the wine was good too. Service is excellent and personalized. The staff are very pleasant and willing to help with suggestions. The vegetarian options were very good and had a distinct home...made taste. A place I have been to twice and experienced the same level of service and quality of food irrespective of busy season or lean period as it is now. Will surely go back again if I have a chance.More

We were staying nearby for visit to a Duke Clinic and thought this would be a good place to try. Having previously vacation in Greece twice we knew the cooking would be great. I has the Paella which was slightly spicy but absolutely wonderful and...my wife had yellowfin tuna with Saffron risotto and Asparagus. Fabulous dinner with good desserts . Ate outside on patio in spite of a Heavy rainstorm that swept thru. Service was impeccable. Not the least expensive place in town but well worth the money for a special dinner. !More

The food is excellent, the only thing that would make this experience better and make it 5 stars is slightly more food and lowering the prices a tad. even $5 bucks off the total bill would make me feel better. I always feel like I...spent to much especially for the portion. Visiting here is always a treat, some waiters are definitely more friendly and attentive than others....More

The food was excellent. Very good flavor, well executed. The experience was ruined by two things. The server was inexperienced and had no recommendations for us. He just wanted to take our order and get us out of there. Here's what bothered us most. When...we called to make a reservation, the hostess was adamant in informing us that they close at 9 and want everything out of there by 9:15 so we might want to come before 8pm. It struck as being very odd. With COVID, you would think restaurants would be extra welcoming and value people coming in. It was a little red flag, but the menu options looked great so we went anyway. We arrived and ordered a glass of wine and asked for bread. We like to enjoy our wine before ordering and tried to communicate that. The server kept coming by and said, "We close at 9:00." It was only 7:45. It was just so odd. You have people paying decent prices for your food--why are you trying to hurry them out? We eventually saw them turn away people at 8:45. Just incomprehensible. While the food was very good, I would not support this restaurant ever again. Too many other options with staff who value your business.More
