Curbsided some pizza and arancini and dumplings. Abasolutely great. Dough was great thin bottom with bubbly edge, toppings and sauce fresh extremely tasty. Dumplings were excellent and arancini were out of this world. We have been to fancy Italian places and the These arancini are...so much better, the real thing. Prices very reasonable and ready on time.More

Pizza tasted great. Sauce and cheese were superb. Ordered a pick-up large create your own with pepperoni, sausage and bacon. We were surprised at how small a large was! Bacon topping was thick hunks of mostly fat that we just picked off. Would pass on...that topping if we visit again. Wouldn’t let you order half toppings.More

Great pizza, brussel sprouts and beer. Visiting Durham from Canada to experience the town and Pompieri was our first evening. What a great start to the trip. Wonderful food and service.

Pompieri Pizza is a casual restaurant to eat when in Durham with ordering done at the counter and pizza brought to your table. I was there for lunch and they have smaller lunch size pizzas and a salad and pizza combo. The pizza is served...hot and fresh and comes with scissors to select your size of the slices. The seating has larger tables in the middle and smaller tables all around. There is also a kids area for them to play. The chocolate peanut butter cake is oh so good.More

2 gluten free crust choices and one is also vegan. Dairy free cheese options like cashew nut based creamy cheese. They cook the gf pizza on its own tin so there is no cross contamination. Not as filling as regular pizza bc of the ultra...thin crust but very Flavorful (tangy and bright tomato sauce) with the traditional burnt edges of Neapolitan style that you cut into slices yourself with scissors. I like that their restaurant philosophy as well, people over profits. Definitely would come back!More

Definitely different than the tradition pizza from a box store. Very organic tasting ingredients but refreshing. If you dont mind something different, this is the place. Love the brick fire taste. Friendly staff.

Pompieri is mainly an individual-size pizza restaurant where you place your order get a number and wait for your pizza to arrive. Once it does you have a simple, but tasty experience. Somewhat unique is the scissors you are given to slice the ultra thin...crust. Check the menu for other food options. Large picinic style tables, that can be reserved, serve for easy group gatherings. There is also a small bar with a TV that allows for individual dining and watching sporting events. Pompieri should be added to your rotation of downtown Durham food spots.More

Six of us ordered pizza. The two children liked their cheese pizzas. However, one of the adult couples ordered a 12 inch speciality pizza. It was dry and rather tasteless. The other couple wanted to create their own, until we found out it would be...$18 for three toppings on a 12 inch pizza. Ended up with a 12 inch pepperoni pizza for $14. We could barely find the pepperoni. The beer was good if you don't mind spending $6 a glass.More

We're glad the kids liked their pizza, but we want the whole group to leave happy. Our pizzas are a bit pricier than some other places, but that's because we make as much as we possibly can from scratch in-house using locally sourced ingredients. Not...More

My nephew who is a rising senior at Duke took me here. Great choice, great food, fun atmosphere. Cutting the pies with scissors was clever. Reminds me of 2 Amys and Pizza Paradiso in DC. Top of their game but unique.

I like that this place is just on the edge of the downtown scene because it makes it easy to get to and still be within an easy walk to everything, including DPAC and the baseball park. The vibe here is casual and the food...and beer are both good. Their pizzas are different from the other guys: very thin but chewy crusts and not heavy on the toppings. One pizza will fill up one hungry person or one and a half mildly hungry persons. The execution here is proudly sloppy - think any college town in America - which means the salads are haphazardly thrown together, everything is served on a pie tin, and sometimes the wait staffs spills a few sips of your good beer before they get to you :)More

It is probably about a 10 minute walk if that much. Straight downtown toward 5 points. Flat walk on city sidewalk mostly
