Terrific meal! Great fish special: halibut. Great service! We are gluten-free and almost keto and we had no trouble finding excellent choices on the menu. Service was prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. Couldn't have been better.

This restaurant delivers. Our new favorite place. Delicious food, beautifully prepared with excellent service. Their desserts are a must. We are from the Pinehurst area but have found nothing like this restaurant in the area. I can’t imagine a trip to Durham without a visit...to The RefectoryMore

When my wife and I visit Durham the one restaurant we never fail to visit is the cafe. The staff skillfully guided by David is among the most accomodating we have ever encountered anywhere. I have been coming back for years for what is one...fo the best eggs benedict dishes anywhwere. The Hollandaise suace is sublime. My wife on the other hand is a fairly plain eater, and no request however odd seems to be refused. Even better, when the dish is served it has allways been as specially ordered. My only complaint is that the dish is no longer served weekdays!More

We were a party of 10 ladies who had just competed in a NC state championship tennis tournament. We originally had reservations but had to cancel due to a rain delay. After our matches, we dropped by and were lucky enough to get seated outside...on 2 tables. Nick was our server and he did a fabulous job. We enjoyed everything from the brussels sprouts to the pistachio cheese cake. If you are in the area, you will not be disappointed by at this restaurant.More

Daughter really liked the crab cake, and shoestring fries, generous serving Shrimp linguini was delicious, lemony garlic, fresh flavor. Plenty of shrimp. Good size serving. Staff was friendly and personable. Our name was on a reserved sign on the table when we arrived. Just had...to go inside to order at counter before seating ourselves. Great that they have plenty of outdoor seating during covid Would definitely come back.More

Visiting from out of town and happened upon The Refectory Cafe. Many gluten free options, including gluten free calamari and desserts! Food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I always love a restaurant that goes out of its way to have gluten free options...and states them clearly on the menu. Cute atmosphere. I only wish we were in town another night, so we could go back!More
