Visited here with a group for dinner. We really didn’t know anything about the place other than its high ratings, but we gave it a shot. Really glad we did. Nice atmosphere, everyone enjoyed their meals, and service was fast and friendly. The jambalaya had more meat and shrimp in it than any I’ve ever had — even in Cajun country — and I loved that because I felt I got more for my money. Excellent!

Although we had a little trouble finding it, because of the confusion of Old Montauk Highway which looked like a driveway and Montauk Highway, the experience of having a special event there was perfect. The shower was held in a room to the right of the entrance. The tables were set beautifully, Blackbirds allowed the Matron of Honor to decorate, place Play Bills for the Broadway theme and set up a Concession Table for the guests. There was a table for the shower gifts. The menu was for a complete four course lunch, with fourth course being the Shower Cake. The food was excellent. Through out the event, waitresses asked for drink orders. Service was fantastic. Would love to go again. Noticed a sign for a weekend brunch. Would highly recommend eating there.

Stepping into Blackbird Cafe is like visiting friends with spectacular cooking skills. It’s warm and welcoming and comfortable. The food is top-notch, pub grub polished to a high standard. Service is charming and efficient. Prices are extremely reasonable for the high quality. At our most recent visit my sister chose the ahi tuna wrap and thoroughly enjoyed it. I went for an old favorite that has disappointed me recently at other restaurants, a chicken Caesar wrap. The wrap was beautifully made, did not fall apart. The chicken had a lovely char to some bits. Croutons stayed crunchy. The dressing was spot on, flavoring the sandwich without dripping all over. My sweet potato wedges came with a lovely dipping sauce. Highly recommend this gem.

Blackbird Grill failed Friday evening at 5 pm. I have enjoyed many Baby Back Ribs at numerous restaurants. Never was I served rib ends. First for a restaurant this is a liabilty suit waiting to happen. Rib ends are full of small bones and cartilage. This part of the rib is usually eaten by staff or thrown out. So, this tells me the owner is very cheap even though their prices have doubled since pre-covid. Diner for 2 with 1 beer each was $40 to $50 total. Now it's $80 to $100. We dine alfresco since covid. Friday evening was hot yet there were no fans or outdoor A/C. It took me 3 tries to finally get music playing. The beer was warm when first brought to table. We needed ice within minutes. It is understandable restaurants must raise prices since covid but gouging is not. This will be our last time at Blackbirds.

It has been a while since we were here for dinner. It is a bit expensive for what they offer. The stuffed Jumbo shrimp , stuffed with bread crumbs &crab meat, was disappointing. The jumbo shrimp were very small, with just a teaspoon of some sort of stuffing, Did not taste any crab. More like shrimp morsels @ $27.00. The Blackbird salad was good, as was the Jasmine rice. The bill reflects their cash price. If you use a credit card the add 3.50% to the bill. This is also noted in small print on the bottom of the menu. Maybe a quick drink and an appetizer might work here instead. But not a meal.

We travel a half an hour to go to the local bar in Sayville. That probably tells you all you need to know. The food and drinks are great as is the staff. The owner Wayne is a genuinely nice guy who is always on-site ensuring quality standards are met. Shawn behind the bar on Sunday's is the best!

Pleasantly surprised dining here. The server, host and food was great. Would definitely return. The establishment is small and I was expecting bar food but nothing even close. I had the jumblaya for appetizer which I will be back for. The dessert menu was amazing. I am moving to Sayville and will definitly be back

I'd been here about 3 yrs ago. When sister suggested it...yes! The staff is so nice. The options were many and hard to chooses from. I got Yellow Fin Tuna Wrap. Sistah had the Ceasar Wrap. We were very happy. Sis loved her side of sweet pot fries ( wonderful dipping sauce!!) and i totally enjoyed their 'regular' fries. Wow.

I'd like to give them a five star review, but the service was significantly slow. They hit the mark on everything else. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was upbeat and festive, our waitress was super friendly, and the price was right. To give you an idea of how good it was; we didn't get our main course for an hour after the appetizers, and we'll definitely be back soon. The cajon flair was great as well. 4.5 stars!

I really liked this place. It was cozy and the food was pretty amazing. They had gator so I was excited. The Cajun feel Is awesome. I had a po boy there. It's not true New Orleans style but tasted really good. The French dip was really awesome! They do have a lunch menu during brunch time if you're not a brunch fan and you're out on sundays. So worth the trip. so good!

Completely stumbled across this local gem last night - and as luck had it, it even had a Cajun flair. Met the owner who clearly takes pride in this establishment. The service was wonderful and we felt at home, even with our 11 year old daughter in tow. We started with a mud bugs appetizer that was ample for 3 - the broth it was served in was outrageous. We also shared an order of fried pickles - there were six large pieces that were very tasty. 2 of us had the jambalaya, which they are apparently known for. The portion was enormous and it was very good, with a good amount of spice. To do again, I might opt to get this as an appetizer or maybe order two different dishes and split them. There were several interesting sounding items in the menu that we are dying to come back and try! We’ll definitely be back!!

Just moved out to Suffolk County & we were looking for a Cajun Restaurant. Did a search & this place came up. Menu looked good, positive reviews & is fairly close. So we gave it a try. Sat eve 6:30, place was fairly crowded & noisy. Got seated, but although there were 3 other tables in the area being served, no wait-staff came over to our table. After 5 minutes, we asked the guy who brought the water & bread to get a waiter/waitress. Few minutes later a waitress came by. She didn't state her name said "sorry about that" & mumbled something that we couldn't make out. She took our order & flew off. Took awhile to get our drinks & when she returned, I asked what her name was. I think I caught her off guard, because she actually stopped & then said her name. Again she said something about a larger table & pointed to the other room. She seemed rather rushed. Now for the food - we ordered the Alligator tail appetizer, which was good. Couldn't really distinguish a specific taste other than the breading, however the sauce they served w/it was excellent. Sort of a creamy mayo/spiced ketchup. My husband had the Jambalaya - excellent & enough to take home for another meal. I had the broiled seafood platter, 2 of each-stuffed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, backed clams, sea scallops & a piece of Tilapia, served w/julienne fresh veggies (Excellent - nice & firm - not mush that's been in the pot all afternoon) and jasmine rice. This too was a large portion - enough to share or take home for another meal. We will definitely go back. Maybe try a different night of the week.

My friends we were visiting brought us here for brunch. Simply amazing. Tex mex omelette, french toast, monster sized pancakes. I wish I could fit more in my stomach. Great service, great food. Great feel.
