Date of visit: Saturday July 8th Fantastic Barbecue restaurant. We ordered Brisket & Turkey Meal platters which come with cornbread, and 2 sides. We tried 4 different sides to try and get a well rounded idea of how they do BBQ here. We had the...mac & cheese, Cheesy Grits, cream corn & Fried Okra. The meats are perfectly smoked and well flavoured. The meat is tender and juicy. The sides are very tasty, and while they come in small containers, the containers are misleading. The flavours are on point, and everything was absolutely delightful. We also had the jalapeno hushbpuppies as an appetizer – and they were so good and addictive. The restaurant offers different dining options – you can line up for a take out meal – that you can eat on their outdoor patio, or you can wait for indoor dining. The third option is to sit in the bar. We ate in the bar, and did not have to wait at all, and the service was amazing. The bartender was all alone, and she not only served every dining patron, but also every drinking patron, plus had to make and serve drinks for the patio patrons. She did all of this competently, and without ever losing her cool and always remaining calm – even though she was clearly very busy. The prices are very reasonable. Our full meal including drinks and app was only $65. They offer 6 different house made barbecue sauces that made the meal even more enjoyable. We tried all of them multiple times through the meal and each one was amazing. We eat at a lot of Barbecue restaurants around Canada and The USA when we travel and I would highly recommend visitors to Saratoga Springs make this a must do restaurant. The crowds of locals and tourists will back this up. This is an amazing place - great food, beer, service, and prices.More

Got the Brisket platter which consists of two sides and corn bread. I love the coleslaw and Mac salad. My husband got a baked potato. When he cut it open it was rotten so he took he back . The girl working told him he...could still eat it, he told her he wanted another one. Then she said she could re sell it if he did not touch it, he told her to throw it out as did the other guy working there. Other than that the food was great. Both indoor and our door seating.More

Wish I could rate the food but we never got to eat. After traveling 5 hours we were looking for dinner nearby our hotel. We entered the restaurant and waited. It smelled good and wasn't very busy since it was a Thursday evening around 7:00pm....There were no signs saying "Please seat yourself" or "Wait to be seated" . Three different employees past us and said nothing, not even a hello. So we left.More

Good barbecue spot with plenty if choices. Bridget and 1/2 chicken were fantastic. We also enjoyed the KC ribs as well. No frills place with good food. The sides are excellent with lots of choices as well. Don’t hesitate to stop in.

Having moved to NY from Texas I could not find really good barbeque like is was used to. PJs has an extensive menu with different dishes from different areas and have different kinds of barbeque as well. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and will...take time to discuss your choices and options. Take it from a barbeque snob--this place is great.More

No frills stand in line to order barbecue. Usually do take out but they have indoor/ outdoor seating. Food plentiful and choice of sauces. Brisket is a bit dry and salty for me so I stick to chicken. Nice choice of sides.

I have been here many times over the last 30 years. We always make a stop here after going to the racetrack for the day once or twice a summer. This year the meal was a disappointment. We ordered for 4 people. We had a...pint of coleslaw, a pint of baked beans, a half rack of Kansas City style ribs, a half pound of pulled pork, a half pound of beef brisket, a 1/4 barbecue chicken, 5 smoked chicken wings and a coke and the bill was more than $90.00. The real disappointment was that the beef brisket was dry and inedible and the 1/4 chicken consisted of 1 chicken leg. I complained to the staff and they didn't want to hear about it and said that 1 chicken leg is a 1/4 chicken at their place. I think, honestly that the staff is just not trained anymore. It was always a tourist trap but now the food and service have declined.More

We went in for lunch, and the owner was taking orders. My wife ordered a sandwich on a Weck roll. He asked her if she knew what a Weck roll was. Of course she knew: THAT'S WHY SHE OREDERED IT !!! I ordered Burnt Ends...& was told they didn't have Burnt ends, which I found very unusual for a BBQ place that features them on there website !!! I took a minute to decide what I wanted, & the owner asked if knew what Burnt ends were. I informed him I do my own smoking in warm weather & make Burnt Ends regularly....I found him to be very rude & obnoxious but ordered anyway. The food was marginal. Having eaten there many times, I've found the food's quality to be inconsistent. You take your chances when eating here. We lost today, in several ways !!!More

Ordered 2 racks of ribs. They were so dry and burnt that they were barely edible. Also got a pound of brisket. Not as bad but cut the wrong way which made it very tough. Overall, garbage. When you pay as much for food, you...should expect better. Will not be back.More

Who would've thought that you could find great bbq in Saratoga Springs?! We passed the place on the way to the state park and noted the full parking lot for lunch so we decided to check it out for dinner. So glad we did! Delicious...and plentiful food. My husband and I each got the 3 meat platters. I got double KC ribs and the dark meat chicken with mac and cheese sched fried okra. He got Memphis ribs, pulled pork and dark meat children with collard greens and sweet potato fries. We also got the bbq nachos with brisket. Wow! So much food! All the meat was delicious, flavorful and moist. Loved all the sides except for the mac and cheese - it needed seasoning and just didn't taste great. The cornbread was yummy too. We'd certainly come back if our travels brought us to this neck of the woods.More

Ok, so this place in my opinion is not worth the wait on a busy night. The food is average, the prices are not cheap and the place overall is sort of ho-hum. PLUS, god forbid you need to use the bathroom, there is a...single one-person facility for the entire place. I waited 15 minutes which is preposterous. I would say if you have other choices then exercise them and go there.More

The beef burnt ends were outstanding and the best this KC man has had. The smoked flavor permeated the lean, flavorful meat and was further enhanced by the choice of classic sauces. The service and ambiance were inviting and classic southern charm. I highly recommend...this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.More

Years ago my company would give out gift receipts for a free meal and I would throw them in the trash. The chicken was scrawny and tasteless. Not anymore. Their Kansas City ribs are sweet and savory. What a delight. they have Memphis Ribs which...are dry rub and they have their own special brand during certain times of the year. They have barbecue chicken and brisket. If you like the brisket get the moist and stay away from the end cut dry. There’s no reason to worry about calories when you’re coming for a barbecue. If you’re vegetarian, what the hell are you doing here. Find another restaurant. They do have catfish and PAUL Boys so you might find something. Their corn on the cob is always full and fresh And not like someplace where you get the scrawny seconds. Cornbread is good. They are set up nicely with a bouncer controlling the entry and the line moves fast but sometimes you have to wait for the food and it’s worth the wait. It in, eat outside at the picnic tables or take it home. This is the number one place for barbecue in Saratoga.More

This by far the best real BBQ in upstate NY hands down. The moist brisket platter is amazing. The beef rib is straight from the flintstones so you'd better have a huge appetite. Save the cornbread for dessert it's southern style, delicious and sweet. All...the different sauces are at stations after you pick up your meal. Keep in mind that this is real BBQ, it isn't drowning in sauce. It's hard to make up your mind if you even want sauce. There's plenty of sides too. I usually get the corn on the cob. Somehow it's always fresh, small kernels and sweet any time of the year. Every time I head south I make it a point to stop for lunch or dinner. Sometimes I make the 45-50 minute trip just to go there. There is seating inside but limited (Covid) and plenty of seating outside. They do have a full bar and I think a lot of craft beers. In conclusion; if you like REAL BBQ then check this place out. You will NOT be disappointed. Just get off at 13N and it's almost 2 miles up on the right. Enjoy!More

Such a disappointment. The Brisket Sandwich was literally beef and bread. So dry, no sauce or condiments making it completely inedible. The North Carolina Pulled Pork was just a slab of shredded meat, and while it had good flavor, it was odd to just eat...straight up meat which was accompanied by frozen macaroni salad. The baked potato was just that. A dried up potato with no butter or sour cream (see photo). Take this menu literally, ask for condiments or extra sauce, or have an ample supply of water handy to wash it all down.More
