This is the third time we have been here and the food and service is as great as it has always been. Would highly recommend it for a special occasion or just a place to go to have a great meal.

Butcher’s shop is definitely the place to meet with friends for brunch. The food is scrumptious; from the English breakfast, to the grilled liver, and capitaine fish to name a few. The servers are very friendly and their service is impeccable.
The food is amazing but the cakes are out of this world lol . Especially the chocolate cake . Highly recommended
If you’re in Fajara and its environs on any Sunday. Butcher’s Shop is the place to be. An array of savoury (brunch-style) dishes neatly laid out on a long buffet table complemented by an assortment of tasty desserts and unlimited pitchers of wonjor juice and...iced tea — all reasonably priced at less than £10 per head. The vibe among the clientele at Butchers Shop on a Sunday afternoon is laid-back and relaxed with the very sociable and friendly team of servers adding to the special ambiance. Definitely worth a visit on a Sunday — whether you’re on your own, with a friend, or part of a large group.More
I have eaten steak in many countries and I have been eating steak at The Butchers Shop since childhood. I must say that, I have not yet had a steak as good as the one at The Butchers Shop any where else. The Butchers Shop...is top tier, the best !More
Great food in a lovely setting, the staff were brilliant, we had bread while we waited, Duck Spring Rolls, Oyster in Batter, fillet steak, grilled fish and garlic and lime chicken. The Oyster in batter needed more batter, the duck in the spring rolls was...good in 1 but very slim on the other 2 but quality and temperature was great. Grilled fish was tasty and plentiful, chicken with garlic and lime had just the correct amount of marinade, chicken was cooked to perfection and the fillet was tender and juicy. Worth every pennyMore
We went here after golf at Fajara for lunch. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on this holiday on 16 April. When we got there there was a banner saying they were having their 30th year in business, on 16 March 1993 , just...one month apart from us! We had a great lunch, super food and great atmosphere. After our meal the owner presented us with a lovely cake with a firework candle. We were so touched at their thoughtfulness and it made our day. What a great place!More
We had a wonderful meal here this week. Excellent food, great service and very friendly staff! Would definitely recommend and will be returning!
What a completely different experience to my last visit. The last time I visited here I didn't give such a positive review but credit where credit is due ! This restaurant has always been one of our favourites and its now right back up there...at the top. We were greeted and seated by a very friendly knowledgeable waiter drinks order was taken and served quickly. We ordered our food and were provided with beautiful fresh warm bread whilst we waited for our dinner. Our mains were delicious and cooked to perfection, we even had room for dessert and were not disappointed I had the chocolate malt melting pudding and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding. I'm so glad that we returned to this restaurant and that its right back up the top of our places to visit. Thankyou so much for welcoming us to your restaurant and we look forward to seeing you again on our next visit!More
Excellent food from an extensive and creative menu - starters, mains and desserts. The wine range was also extensive but no real need to go beyond the excellent house red (can’t vouch for the white but would imagine it was pretty good too!). Great service,...with lovely personal welcome from the owner. So far, our best meal in The Gambia.More
Very friendly place with a welcoming Management/Owner. Don't miss it if passing by The Gambia. For more than 12 years now that I have known this wonderful place, I have always been more than satisfied of what it offers as food and atmosphere.
Excellent food with lots of choices, nice location, great service, an oasis in the city. I can recommend this nice restaurant.
Having been regular visitors to this restaurant over our last 10 years in Gambia we decided to take my parents their on their first visit out to The Gambia as we have told them so many times about how amazing the food and service is....Well what a mistake it was !!! The service was truly terrible we had a rude waitress who literally didn't have a clue. We ordered our food and when it came out it was worse than the service ! The pork chops were inedible and as for the steak pie my husband took one mouthful and couldn't eat the rest, the fish pie was watery had no flavor and the fish was hard to find and after having this many times and raving about it I was so embarrassed my mum chose it. We did tell the waiter who then sent over who I assume to be the manager when the owner is absent, she apologized and said the items would be removed from the bill. This was followed by the waiter bringing over a complimentary bottle of beer for my husband. We ordered desserts and they've certainly gone down hill mums sticky toffee pudding was the size of a tea spoon literally 1 mouthful dads poached pear was rock hard grey and stone cold and the chocolate malt pudding was just brown sludge on my plate I literally used to come here for the dessert ! We requested the bill as we were so unhappy and just wanted to leave the bill was brought over and all meals were still charged for ! I pointed this out to the manager who said I gave you a free beer instead !!!! we didn't ask for a free beer or drink it ! she eventually gave me 2 desserts free but by then it was too late. A truly terrible experience and the most expensive meal we had for the 2 weeks my parents visited The Gambia for the first time. We shall in future not be making the effort to visit this restaurant as I don't think I could face such an awful meal again.More
