Let me just tell you how great this place is... both in beer and in personality. This is the first brewery in which my husband has liked EVERY single beer. I thought most of them were delish. Dog friendly, beautiful outdoor seating area. The staff was a brewer and taught us about the brewing process. He was welcoming and genuinely happy to have us asking questions. If we lived closer, we would be regulars.

Worth the stop!!
This is quality craft beer. We enjoy the variety of beers.
From summer lighter beers haze to the traditional Deer fly ipa.
For the wife she likes the wine slushee.
I get my pint and growler
Friendly staff and owners.

This is the nicest setting to enjoy an excellent beer. The brewery/bar space is open, bright, and welcoming, and you'll find an excellent patio and lot's of parking. These folks host events, and on some days you may find a food truck in the lot.
These folks are wonderful, and extremely talented. If you are a beer lover, this is a destination.

Had a lovely afternoon sampling beers and enjoying perfect weather outside on the patio. 8 beers were on offer, my personal favorite being the Saranac and Raspberry beers. The IPA was also delicious.
They don’t sell food inside but welcome you to carry in. Food truck is available weekends

Great place to relax and enjoy a quiet Sunday. Friendly staff, decent prices and great atmosphere.
Definitely worth the trip. Eat before you arrive. This isn’t a restaurant. It is a real brew pub. Bar pretzels if you are hungry. Beers for your thirst!

Stopped in for a flight for my cousin's bachelor party. The beer was very good and so was the atmosphere. Very nice place.

We go to DC to visit family and now we have this awesome brewery to visit as well. The building is a work of art, the owners are super friendly and the beer is delish!! The Deerfly IPA was a bit hit with our group, as was the Backwoods Brown. I'm more of a wheat beer lover and the Spanish Haze and Raspberry were sooooo good. Lots of tables outside, cornhole, and a food truck when we were there. An Amish buggy even passed by and they slowed down to wave. They have happy hour during the week. Wonderful place, if we lived nearby we would be here all the time!

Township 7 is a treasure! Owners Nate and Jan are gracious and welcoming. The atmosphere is laid back and the brewery is beautiful. Worth the drive or stop by on your way through... you won’t be disappointed. All the beers are fantastic, but the Train wreak brew is a must try.

This is surprising place in the woods. It is not near any populated places; so you can’t walk there. It does have excellent beer and is, emphatically, worth the drive.
The place is attractive and comfortable, the people are friendly and knowledgeable and the beer is EXCELLENT! Nuff said.

I’m in the area from far far away. I happened upon this little brewery way out in the middle of nowhere. It just happened to be Cinco De Mayo. There was an amazing authentic taco truck, live music and oh yes the beer was fantastic! It was well worth the 40 mile drive from my hotel!

We recently traveled from Buffalo to Potsdam to visit our friends from out of town. Buffalo is known for its microbreweries, so our friends took us to see this brewery that recently opened just outside of Potsdam. The drive took about 20-25 minutes from the SUNY Potsdam area, but the drive was well worth it.
The brewery is a little hard to find because it is tucked back behind some trees, but once you see it you’ll agree that the building has a lot of character. The building is very rustic and includes an outdoor patio area and plenty of parking. The inside includes the brewing area (obviously) and then a small, intimate tap room with several high top tables.
The service was top notch – the woman behind the bar came over to our table several times to take drink orders and bring us bowls filled with snack pretzels. A few of us ordered regular pints while the rest ordered flights. I enjoyed the pumpkin beer, house Oktoberfest, raspberry beer, and a brown ale (I wish I could remember the specific names of the brews). My favorites were the pumpkin and the brown ale, although I was really pleased with them all.
Our friends ordered a pint of a darker beer called “Freight Train” – this one was a real hit with our table. You could really taste the sweetness in the way it was brewed.
My ONLY suggestion at this time would be to expand on the non-alcoholic options available. We did have someone in our group who is unable to drink due to health reasons and the only non-alcoholic beverage was ginger ale. It would be nice to see a couple other pop (soda) options available in the future. However, this isn’t enough to detract stars from my review.
We’ll definitely be back the next time we visit Potsdam! We’ll be sure to bring our growler to bring some beer home.

Finally, something funky and cool in this little town! Nathan Drake was born and raised in this community, and on the very land where he established Township 7 Brewery last year. Hometown boy makes good!
Nathan’s classy operation is a welcome addition to the area, and his brews are worth your time. It’s a lovely spot to drop in and hoist one, pick up a growler, or enjoy a flight on the deck in nice weather.
Well done Mr Drake! We wish you continued success in this excellent new venture.

This is a beautiful location and so QUIET! Not liking noisy bars and restaurants, we found this woodsy place not far from home. We tasted three beers and really liked Deer Fly Ale. We bought a growler and had a party the next day with the founder and former owner of The Bagelry and his lovely wife, Judith.

Nathan brews some great beer and quite a variety to choose from. I am a home brewer so I speak from experience. Not only is there a great selection to choose from , but there are also different sizes and price ranges. Tasting flights are available too , so you can decide on your favorite before ordering a bigger glass. Growlers are also available for take out.
