It's no longer the place to visit for a fair priced Aussie steak. Their steaks are now smaller, fattier, chewy and lack taste. Really disappointing as they used to be awesome!

We arrived here at the Blue Rock for lunch we found a seat the waitress came by with menus and then disappeared at which point the manager took our order we had a variety of items a Spanish omelette shepherd's pie fish and chips and...schnitzel. The food was okay some of it could have been hotter but overall it was okay not inexpensive but you're in a restaurant right on the water so the view was nice. Service was good but most of it came from the manager as interesting as it was but they weren't so busy as the waitress couldn't have waited on us. I would probably repeat here on another visit. If you're with a significant other or a date it's a good choiceMore

Huge place with lots of food selection. Place has daily specials. Live single person band at night. Serves early breakfast and only place that cleans the beach in front of its property. Expat manager very helpful. Wished all personnel were trained like the expat for...customer service.More

For years Bluerock was the place for good meet especially steaks. Last weeks visit was the last of rather disappointing visits this year. Had a Tbone steak that was fried in pain iso grilled, a bit overcooked more medium to well done rather then rare...but what realy disapointed was the quality of the meat. Chewy and unseasoned. I like the place but quality consitant must meet price asked for.More

The restaurant is very good. Pricey, but it is a beach resort. Staff friendly and professional. But the outside vendors ruin it. They wave and yell from outside. So annoying I preferred to sit farther inside the restaurant and miss the view. They follow you...on the beach refusing to take no for an answer. At one point there were seven vendors waiting at the exit. Their harassment is the reason I left blue rock resort.More

What's good and not so good... - Service and the people specially jasmine the receptionist who's been very helpful and patiently answers all queries and the very alert, helpful and attentive guard--MEL and our favorite waiter, JR. However, they do not automatically clean the rooms...and when you need a replenishment of toiletries limited to towel, tissue and really super tiny packets of soap, it kinda takes forever as obviously they are under manpower. -Another creepy thing i noticed is that even if there's only us in that area on the second floor and we did not order anything, i was surprised that one of the room boys went up our stairs and hurried to get away before i even go the chance to ask what he was doing in the balcony of our unit--again with no reason to be there. - Food is good but pricey, beer is almost 90 bucks a piece and be careful as they charged us wrong, they did not realize my work entails auditing and so they were surprised i can do quick mental math otherwise, they would've overcharged me with over 200 pesos (!) - Resto is beach front and nice acoustics however, hawkers and sellers can enter the premises making it kinda not so safe for customers - Beach front is wide and well lighted at night so it is safe if you feel like swimming after sunset unlike in other resorts where it is not well lighted. Noteworthy to mention as well that beach front is clean and well maintained. - You are not allowed bring in any food and drinks except for water so make sure you do not assume that because you intend to consume beers and drinks and groceries in the comforts of ur paid room, think twice because they may not allow you to bring them in the resort since they are forcing customers to buy the items at 3x the original price... If i may add, in any hotel and resorts i've stayed at, whatever food and drinks you bring to your room and consume inside your room, they allow and not force you to buy from their bars. - Even the toiletries on display beside the bed have payments, they do not provide toothbrush and toothpaste but they do sell a couple.... - Not even a complimentary water was provided but they do have bottled water for sale - Channel on TV are good but ref is defective and the ref in room 14 was leaking all the time i guess bec of auto-defrost. - A most spectacular view of the beach but the sand is black so sometimes not so appealing to swim in, they do have this small pool though by the bar - There's complimentary parking but kinda few--for a hotel with 50+ rooms and a parking slot of less than 20--do the math then. All in all, for somebody who does not frequented subic, still recommend this place for the old but nice rooms, good location and safety.More

I called in here for lunch and decided to try the Seafood Mornay with fries. The dish itself was well cooked and presented but the Mornay sauce lacked a cheese taste and zing. In all the taste was very bland and unexciting. I am sure...that people with very plain tastes would enjoy it but I was left bored with it. The highlight of the meal as with every visit I make to Blue Rock is Mango Shake. Made with fresh Mango Juice and Mango Ice Cream it is a taste sensation.More
