The hostess made sure we were comfortable with our seating for 7. The options were good for the price. The dessert options could’ve been a little more appealing. Glad they don’t automatically add 15% gratuity like the neighboring buffets. Will eat here next season.
Went to Wildwood for over the Labor Day weekend and walked to the Red Oak which was only a short distance from our motel. Was impressed with the selection of eggs, and two kinds of potatoes. They also had pancakes, waffles, french toast, cream chip...beef, etc. Will definitely go back the next time I come up to NJ.More
Each year our family visits Wildwood a few times during the summer. We always make some stops at the Red Oak Buffet for the Early Bird Special. You can get $1.00 off coupons in the local guide books. Food has always been very good and...their is a fairly good selection. There are always a good number of people there, especially for the Early Bird Special but never had to wait more than 10 minutes. There is a fast turn over of food so the food was fresh. Think it is a good value and worth a stop to try it.More
The buffet said it had over 60 or 65 items, but I think that number includes dressings and salad toppings because there did not seem to be many items to choose from. The kids prices are good, but it seems a little overpriced for the...amount of food one actually eats as compared to a normal restaurant. I wish we had gone to a restaurant or diner instead.
We had a group of 8, but they had to split us into 2 groups of 4. The tables were close by, so it was of no concern to us, but it might be to people who go out to dinner with the intent of eating together. The kids seemed to appreciate it. Generally speaking the restaurant was clean-- absent our table which had water leaking from the ceiling onto the table and into the booth, even once into the plate of food.
Would not go back, but it was not a terrible experience.More
Seriously gross. The place was pretty dumpy and the food was worse. Our waitress kept telling us that everything was homemade but the soup tasted like a metal can (I kid you not) and nothing was "homemade." Traditional and worse than traditional buffet. Just spend...the extra $5 and get a real meal somewhere else.More
