About
The Boathouse Restaurant is a casual restaurant that specializes in seafood and steaks, with amazing views of the inter-coastal waterways and spectacular sunsets. The deck is a more casual atmosphere with live music during the summer months, and great options including a more casual bar menu. The indoor seating areas include an air-conditioned dining room, as well as the porch, which is situated directly over the water and is a more quiet atmosphere than the deck. The 2nd floor dining room, open in season, features fantastic panoramic views and can accommodate larger groups.

We ate here on September 16th around 6pm. Was told there was about a 30 minute wait but we were seated within 10 minutes. Sat outside next to the marina. Service was excellent! Waitress was very prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was great. The over...all price was not bad and I thought it was very well worth it. The food was excellent!! I would highly recommend!! And will come back if I’m in the area again.More

Wait time was 20 minutes for “first available” seating. Ended up on the deck and it was lovely. I had crab cake and shrimp, husband had stuffed shrimp and son had shrimp and scallop scampi. All of our food was nicely presented and tasty. There...was a group salad with a nice balsamic dressing brought to the table. That, three beers, a coke and iced tea was just under $200. About what you’d expect at the shore. The wait staff was very friendly, and I’m guessing they were covering a bunch of tables too.More

To be honest, the food is good here! If you don't mind waiting outside for 45 minutes with high heat and high humidity to get an outside table to sit outside for your meal in same high heat and humidity, this is the place for...you. It was so crowded here that we thought this must be the greatest place to eat. If you don't mind paying $92 including tip for an average priced meal without cocktails for portion sizes 1/3 the size of what you would get in a diner, once again, this is the place for you.More

In all my years spending time at the Shore, this was the first time I've been to the Boathouse. I was presently surprised that the wait to get in was not long, but we were there before the season really got started. Our server was...very young, but he was attentive and friendly. Good for him getting a job! The menu was unimaginative, your basic Jersey Shore seafood menu. I had some raw clams for an appetizer. They tasted fresh. My entree was the scallops. They were well cooked, not overdone, and tasty. Everyone in our group of 5 enjoyed their meals. This place is a bit pricey for what you get, but then most of these places are.More

The wait time on a Monday night was 1/2 hour which is excepted at the Jersey Shore in August . We had a perfect view of the Marina . The place was packed which tells me the food must be good . Well the food...was awesome . The kids ate all their food ,if that says anything . For as packed as the place was ,our food came out quick. The waitress even came to table several times to refill drinks and make sure the meals were ok . Thanks for the great dinner .More

It's been several years since my last visit. Tonight was my last ever. I am shocked at the prices, food quality and lack of choices. I'll address the choice topic first. The name "Boathouse" implies seafood. Sure there is seafood. The TYPICAL BORING entrees of,...flounder, shrimp, lobster and crap cakes, yawn! All prepared the same old way of broiled or fried....again boring! My word Dock Street Seafood market is less than a half mile away and has an awesome selection of variety. I'd rather pay a third of the price and get mahi mahi, grouper, swordfish, red snapper, halibut, sea bass and more. My wife and I ordered appetizers of Ahi Tuna, shrimp cocktail, and a caesar salad. For entree, she and I split the Chicken Bruschetta. As far as food quality, well the shrimp cocktail was only recognized as shrimp by shape only. The shrimp were as pale as I have ever seen, nearly completely white. There was no flavor, very very bland and I attribute these aspects to the shrimp being thawed and sitting in water way too long before they were served. The tuna was nicely presented, yet small thin slices with a bland balsamic drizzle. The romaine lettuce of the salad was cut in uncomfortably large pieces. I don't mind cutting it some, but not like that! The chicken was good in general and pretty in presentation. But the tomatoes were tasteless and really the dish had really no memorable flavor. I can do easily the same for a fraction of the price. Lastly, if you want beef...you better have a pork wallet!More
