We were 3 couples, 2 not from the area and all 3 first-time diners here. When 6 people all order different appetizers and entrees and all 6 are happy; it is culinary coup. My pan seared Scallops were plump and delicious and the side risotto...was the best I have ever had anywhere, including in Italy where my husband and I travel often. The restaurant does, indeed, look like the pretty Amalfi Coast and the service is friendly and helpful. We only regret that our NJ summer home is so far south that we can not return as often as we would like. We do not have a restaurant anywhere near us that can compare/compete with Villa Amalfie.More

The food and service were out of this world. Our waiter, Frank, provided excellent attention to our party of four ladies. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We have eaten at this restaurant for many years. Recently it has begun to fail the test as a great place to dine. Last night will be our last dinner at the Amalfi. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer, it was under cooked AWFUL....I ordered shrimp scampi. That meat selection was $28.99. It consisted of FOUR Large SHRIMP and a half a pound of linguine. That was highway robbery. If you go to Xian and order walnut shrimp, your plate has 8 jumbo shrimp ! $16.00 If you want a very good meal go to Xian. .More

Nice atmosphere, good service, good menu but the actual food was lacking. Ordered shrimp purtaesca and the dish had two olives, no capers, no anchovy taste and the shrimp had the tails on. Lobster bisque was watery and had almost no lobster and the seafood...appetizer had three scallops which were like jelly. Chicken and veal dishes seemed better.More

Went for an after holiday lunch with our parents. The waiter was terrible! Did not ask if we wanted drinks. Tried to take our order right away. I asked for drinks and he seemed annoyed for my asking. Met on Sunday at 2pm. They had...no lunch menu as Sundays are only dinners. This was fine however the food was terrible! Two of us had eggplant rollatini, one had gnocchi and the other rigatoni. All did not like our meals. The waiter placed in front of us and I asked for grated cheese. He said nothing and walked away. I told my family he must not have heard however he did return with cheese. He was rude and not friendly at all! We did not complain about our meals just knowing we would never be back. I asked for a second round of drinks. The waiter returned a short time later and reached over our food to hand our glasses to each of us. My mom had a fork in her hand and he said ‘here’. She had to put her fork down to grab the glass. Overall experience was horrible!!! Food terrible, overpriced and staff rude. One and done..will never go back!More

Villa Amalfi was a nice lunch experience. The staff is top shelf. My meal started with the New England clam chowder which was fair. My main dish was the Wild Boar which tasted a little old. It was presented on a bed of risotto. I...give the whole meal a B-. The dessert was Tiramisu which was excellent and the coffee was good. Others in the party had Mare & Monte which was shrimp ,clams ,mussels and chicken over pasta. It looked good and the diners said it was good. Someone else in the party had chicken Angeline and they said it was ok but they would not order it again. The room temperature began to drop toward the end of the dining experience. The place was not crowded and it is a large venue so I can imagine the cost to heat the place is high. I doubt that I will be back because competition is stiff and there are more inexpensive Italian restaurants in the area.More

My family and I had to worst experience with this restaurant. We booked the restaurant for my grandmothers repass and we were all yelled at by the lady who was in charge of our party. Not only did she yell at a group of our...children for sitting down at a table (the oldest was 15 and the youngest was 6) by themselves, but she yelled at EVERYONE else for sitting down as well. She was so rude, telling people that they have to sit at certain tables, and when she was told that we want to sit according to our immediate families, she kept going at us. She told us that we had attitudes, when we were in mourning for losing our beloved grandmother. Our family was in such disbelief about how we were treated, that we kept talking about it all day. We all had the same experience from this rude woman. The food was barely decent and all the glasses had spots or were dirty. There is MUCH better Italian food in the area. AND MUCH BETTER SERVICE!!!! You were warned!More

Tried to call to get a reservation, on the Labor Day weekend of all times. No one answered the phone and when I finally did get through it wasn't answering machine. No one ever called back very disappointing I seriously doubt they're still open. If...they are make sure you get someone to talk to before you take the time to go there. Very unprofessionalMore
