We hadn't been to this restaurant in years. It was a nice day and we were in the mood to take a car ride and in the mood for sea food. We decided to try Bum Rodgers again. We were not disappointed. It was the...off-season so parking was not an issue and seating in the restaurant was also not an issue. They do not have their own parking lot. During the Summer vacation months, parking and seating is an issue. We sat at the bar which was very comfortable. We decided to sample some appetizers. The Shrimp Espanol was absolutely the best shrimp dish that I have tasted in years. I am told it is one of their most popular dishes and I can see why. We got a couple of those. It also comes in a dinner size with added extras. My wife and I also sampled the clams casino. They were perfect and large. The bacon flavor came right through. We looked over the menu and it is quite extensive ... and pricy, but if you love good seafood, you might want to pay the extra price. However the price of wine and beer is not pricy. Our server provided us with good service. The restaurant is large and actually has two bars inside and a large dining area outside. They have live bands on weekends and a large dance floor. During football season they have food and drink specials and many TVs to satisfy the customers. Unlike many restaurants at the Jersey Shore, they are open all year.More

Had a great meal with fantastic service at this restaurant. My wife had a huge portion of Prime Rib while I had Ahi Tuna. Both were served with sides as expected. Everything was hot, not cold as in many restaurants today. Great "shore" atmosphere, very...relaxed and comfortable. Good Bloody Mary Too!More

I have been here a few times, today was difficult. Arrived at 1130 had to find someone to seat us. Waitress was excellent, but the food quality was poor. We both ordered the fried shrimp, scallop, flounder platter at $31.49 Shrimp were so flat like...beat wiat a hammer, over cooked, and dry. Scallops were ok, but just ok, and flounder was over cooked. My best guess these items are all a frozen product, i would be shocked if they were fresh fish. I as always do will try again but what a disappointment today.More

Not much of a review writer, but this place needs help. Wayyyyy over priced food for the quality. There were flies and fruit flies EVERYWHERE. There were so many people squished in 1 room with nowhere to even walk by. Disappointed. Won’t be back

Giving it a 3.5. Overall, food was pretty good, but portions were on the light side. Tuna seared crusted- for almost $20, it should have more than 5-6 slices of tuna. Tuna was good, portion was disappointing for the price. Lobster bisque, also average. For...$11, barely any lobster to be found in bowl. Mahi dish was very good Parking can be a challenge. Get there early. They also have decent happy hourMore

We decided to have our anniversary dinner at Bum Rogers. We have always enjoyed the Happy Hour specials and were happy to see that it is still offered on their website. We asked for the Happy Hour draft special, the bartender said he wouldn't know...the price until he entered it into the computer. It is advertised at $2, we were charged $3. We asked for the happy hour food menu, we were given the full menu with no explanation. While enjoying our drafts we looked over the menu deciding on dinner in the dining room. I ordered the crab cake dinner at "market price". For $32.00 I expected at least a little lump crab. It was mostly finely shredded crab with filler. The side of vegetables was delicious but not worth $32. My spouse had a seafood combo, it was good but also overpriced for a few shrimp, a few scallops and a piece of flounder. We know these Covid times have been tough, but it is tough on the consumer also. If you are not offering Happy Hour anymore, please remove it from your website.ifMore

Three seniors went expecting Thursday night specials and a glass of wine. Called to make a reservation and was told it wasn’t necessary not very busy. Turns out it wasn’t busy because they were in the middle of a ten day liquor license suspension...funny we...weren’t warned. When I asked for the Thursday night special I was told they weren’t offering any specials since COVID??? Funny..the ad in the local Little Paper which says daily specials and their website fail to mention these changes. What we ordered was tasty as always, but the evening was disappointing. I’ve waited for a table in the summer and fall and will know doubt return, but not without questioning them firstMore

Both Gary and Jerry recently helped me on the phone when I was trying to buy a gift card for my brother who lives in Seaside, I'm in DC. The online gift card order form will only send the gift card to the buyer's home,...not to whom you want to gift. Was frustrating at first because the woman on the phone wouldn't help me buy the card over phone, said I could have it mailed to my brother, but she hasn't obviously ever tried to do this. I incurred a Paypal charge for a card that I can't use. Both Gary and Jerry were great in straightening it all out and refunding me for the card, did it manually for me, my brother has, we're all happy. Appreciate their help, when I visit town, will definitely be going there.More
