Spano’s came highly recommended to us by a friend…AMAZING food and great service. We have been to many excellent Italian restaurants in NYC and Brooklyn and NJ, but Spano’s REALLY is superb. The chef came out to greet us with a tomato salad as soon...as we were seated, and we liked that personal touch (he’s great, by the way, very nice guy). We enjoyed the special appetizer, different entrees (both of ours were just exceptional!) and dessert….I can’t say enough good things about the chef’s talent. The sauce and meat in our dishes were melt in your mouth, and I had to ask the chef WHERE DID YOU LEARN TO COOK LIKE THAT?!! His response: I’m cooking since I’m 14! We will DEFINITELY be back and spread the word. Wonderful experience.More

Spano's was recommended during our 2 day vacation to Point Pleasant, and we were lucky enough to get a reservation. The hospitality is exceptional, with Chef Joseph visiting each table and offering delicious plates to try. The waitstaff is excellent. And the food!! Flaky and...delicate fish with just the right seasoning. Scallops, shrimp and crabmeat over homemade pasta in a light an flavorful sauce. Finished with espresso (lemon peel of course) and cappuccino. We made another reservation during the first dinner for dinner the next day. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious authentic and creative italian dishes, served with obvious care and passion for service.More

This is now the 3rd time I have tried to call Spano's to place a take out order and when I finally get through , find out they aren't accepting take out orders. Yesterday I started calling at 4:15 and continually got a busy signal....When I finally got through at 5:10, a nice girl answered the phone and said they were not doing take out because they were too busy, the restaurant was fully booked with reservations .It would be so much easier if they had a message on their phone saying they were not doing take out that night. The website says no take out on weekends, this was Tuesday. A separate number for take out would solve the problem, and if they aren't doing it, leave a pre-recorded message. Spano's is our favorite place for a great meal, but last night our out of state company had Chinese takeout, and not very good at that!More

Easily our meal at Spano's was the best meal we had while renting in Point Pleasant Beach. Out first meal here, but not out last. Loved it. The food here could compete with any restaurant in Brooklyn. Large menu with plethora of choices. I respect...it when the owner/chef walks around the tables to inquire how everyone's meal is going, which is definitely the case here. When asked the chef guided my wife to the Hailbut special, pointing out he picked up the fish on thr dock just a few hours earlier. My wife loved that dish, said it was one of the best she ever had. We would be regulars here year round if only we lived closer.More

Unbelievably A M A Z I N G . . . WOW! Best Italian meal/experience ever!!! . . . and BYOB :) Very pleasant and likeable hostess seated us at a table already set with fresh baked bread, olive oil dipping sauce, dish of freshly...grated parmigiana cheese, olive oil bottle, and glasses of ice water. Staff quickly appeared with a dish of succulent tomato wedges marinated in olive oil, fresh basil and shaved onion...and we haven't even read the menu yet! There are so many to-die-for selections on the menu, it was fun just trying to decide. I ordered Seafood Fiesta (shrimp, scallops & lump crab meat) and tweaked it to be in a spicy vodka sauce w/pancetta over linguine - my absolute favorite. Spano's blew away anything I have ever had! My wife ordered the Pasts Tre Madre - lobster, shrimp, & chicken sautéed with artichoke hearts and mushrooms in a light pink sauce over linguine. I loved hers as much as I loved mine! And they both were made with house made fresh pasta - unbelievably good. Dinners come with a choice of house or Caesar salad. Chef Spano made frequent appearances, stopping to chat and to make sure everything is to your liking. All I can say is tonight's dinner was an unbelievably satisfying and gratifying culinary experience! Kudos to Chef Spano and his staff. Can't wait to go back. And oh, forgot to mention, I am a big eater but we both took home a go box - enough for a very nice second meal for each of usMore

What makes Spano’s a step above is not perfection but consistently. The food is consistently very good. The servers are consistently warm and friendly no matter how busy. This starts with ownership which has instilled this way of doing business with their staff. They make...you feel special. That is apparent by them always having a full house. Patrons come back again again. I know I and family will.More

Who knew this little Italian hideaway was just ten miles up the road from home. We were greeted by “Joe Spano” the restaurant owner, and were introduced as first time guests. You would have thought we were second cousins. He made sure that the staff...took care of our table and checked in after every course. The Caesar Salad and cold gazpacho soup were great starters. The pasta is homemade and the sauces/gravy are light, not too sweet and made fresh today. My wife and I like to share a pasta dish as our appetizer. We gorged ourselves on the Broccoli rabe and Italian fennel sausage sauteed with roasted garlic and olive oil served over orecchiette pasta (little ears) and we had to force ourselves to stop eating in order to save room for the entree. Flounder Oreganato is topped with Italian bread crumbs and special seasonings with extra virgin olive oil, broiled and is served over a bed of sauteed spinach. This dish was simply spectacular. But wait, the best is yet to come. Homemade Ricotta Cheese Cake for dessert. This cake is so good that it requires that you make room for dessert no matter how stuffed you may be. A friendly staff, a BYOB of Chianti, every course a taste treat, can the summer be any better at the Jersey Shore.More

Even before we enjoyed our Caesar salads w extra anchovies and entrees of lasagna, cavatelli con burrata marinara and chef special eggplant, host and co owner Dan brought three tasty treats: oil w raw garlic and bread, summer tomato salad, and creamed corn pasta. We...can’t wait to enjoy our leftovers tonight from yesterday’s feast. Daily homemade fresh pasta from fancy machine made in Italy. BYOB.More

What a fantastic first time experience! Fresh bread and two free appetizers for the table started the meal. The fried calamari (small) was enough for two people. All of the pasta is homemade. The eggplant rollatini, Sunday Gravy (sausage, meatballs, and brasciolle) and the salmon...topped with crabmeat were all excellent. The tomato sauce was excellent on everything. The service was just right and attentive. Although I really wanted a dessert, we were too full. The place is BYOB. Plan for a "doggy bag".More

Spano's is by no means spacious. I would definitely call and ask. If they can accommodate, the trip would be well worth it.
