Save your money, look to eat elsewhere. Wait staff were slow to arrive and slow take food orders. They Failed to timely remove used plates and dishes from table so that table became a cluttered crowded place for party of 6 to comfortably eat their...dinners. Food quality left a lot tobe desired as steaks were tuff to chew. Food arrived at table either undercooked or ice cold or both, tells me the kitchen staff and waiter does little to nothing does not pay attention nor care as to what is being prepped and served. Bill for party of 6 came to $300 was a lousy value. Better cooked hot food easily can be otained elsewhereMore

I always was curious to dine at this restaurant after my many previous trips to the Garden State Plaza. I had my birthday lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon with three (3) other individuals. This restaurant was very decorative. The reduced lunch specials came with...some bread and butter. I liked my meal of the chicken piccata with the spaghetti. However, I felt that the service of our waiter was poor as he took away our bread way too fast, and I felt that other foods and drinks were not quickly, if at all, replenished upon our requests to him.More

I went yesterday ,March 15 and took a Salisbury steak to go for my husband because I didn’t have time to cook!! He was eating and at some point he realized he has something pinching! Was a pice of metal wire !!! I really hope...he didn’t swallow any metal and have an organ problem later!! This piece is small but sharp and could be others too because you don’t know what’s mixed in that Salisbury stk!!! Guys you need to be careful when you prepare!!More

As you can see from my prior reviews this was one of my favorites over the years for both lunch or dinner. I was here last year. Their menu is very extensive with many choices. You can always find something of interest on their menu....I returned here with my family of five twice for dinner recently. I will summarize both dinners here. On our first visit on a Friday we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table to be available. We had a nice booth near the kitchen area. I enjoyed my two blood orange martinis made with Tito’s, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao and blood orange for $15. I also enjoyed my cafe beef wellington with an adequate number of filet mignon steak medallions properly cooked medium rare covered with crimini mushrooms and topped with warm puff pastry, served with madeira wine sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables for $24.50. My dinner was quite filling. Everyone was pleased with their respective dinners. Trindell S. served us very well. My total bill was $224 less gratuity. After our dinner I bought a round of cocktails at their bar for my family and some friends, who arrived after our dinner. Seven of us dominated the empty bar. I enjoyed my Sam Adams seasonal draft beer for $8. Our bartender Miguel A. served us well. My total bar bill was $88 excluding gratuity. On our second visit on Saturday we had to wait about 45 minutes for our table. Our booth was on the furthest end of the room from the entrance. I enjoyed only one blood orange martini and their Jambalaya with shrimp and chicken for $22.50. I ordered white rice, but my Jambalaya was served with brown rice. I did not complain. Everyone was pleased with their respective dinners. Zanaya L. served us very well. My total bill was $175 less gratuity. Overall we were all pleased with our respective dinners both times. We agreed we will continue to visit here for lunch or dinner.More

As you can see from my past reviews this is one of my local favorites pre-COVID. This was my first return post-COVID. We arrived for dinner without a reservation. Masks were not required. We were seated immediately at a nice booth for 4 although there...were only 2 of us. Cheese Cake Factory is the parent organization of the Grand Lux Cafe. We had a Cheese Cake Factory prepaid gift card, which we were not able to use here. Be aware of such prepaid gift card limitations. I enjoyed my two blood orange martinis for $14.75 each. We asked Michael D. for their bread, which was one of the best breads we enjoyed recently. They bake their own bread. I don’t recall their bread being that good. I also enjoyed my usual cajun chicken and shrimp jambalaya with white rice for $20.95. Michael D. recommended the white rice over their brown rice, which I had once prior and did not enjoy as much as their white rice. Michael D. served us well. My total bill less gratuities was $96. We agreed we will continue to return here or any other Grand Lux cafes. For example we both enjoyed our meals at the Grand Lux in Chicago on Michigan Ave.More

Located on the side of Garden State Plaza next to the AMC Theatres, this is a restaurant with lots of great menu items to choose from. My favorite is the Cafe Beef Wellington - medallions of filet mignon steak topped with a warm puff pastry,...served in a madeira wine sauce with mashed potatoes. They also have a very delicious Godiva chocolate cheesecake. Definite winner!More

Our lunch was excellent. The sourdough bread that is put on the table reminds of San Francisco. The chicken salad soup of the day combination is always really good. I have always had great soup there and I never order soup! A home made veggie...burger is a work of art here. I like how a manager tries to stop at each table and make sure things are good. We discovered Grand Lux ages ago in Las Vegas it was a casino's coffee shop. I understand that to build the restaurant the cost is 10 to 15 million.More

A little pricey but not outrageous for what you get. I would say the prices are average for a restaurant such as this probably $25 a person for dinner.
