Had breakfast here. Food was good but almost all the seats in the booths had duct tape to cover the worn out seats! If they redid the interior it would be a nicer place to eat. Also the prices were kind of high for the food that we ordered. 2 cups of coffee, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and scrambled egg plate with hash was a total of $24.00.

This is the real deal. An authentic NJ diner! After passing the diner for years (while on a train)I finally had the opportunity to go there. I was not disappointed. I went there with a friend from high school and had what can best be described as a “diner experience“ complete with discussing the issues of the day with the owner. I had the burger deluxe, a menu item the diner screams at you from the outside. The menu is fairly extensive and the food quality is outstanding. The breakfast menu items looked great and I am planning to return to further “explore the menu“. We were served by John who is apparently the owner. Service was outstanding as was the company.

Exquisite service on a Saturday morning. Quick. polite, friendly. Steak and eggs - very, very good. Steak was ordered medium, though there was not pink inside. Still, it was quite good and larger than expected.

IF you're looking for a cushy, elegant, modern restaurant, then this is NOT the place for you! This is a good, old-fashioned, family run diner. It looks just the way it probably had in the 50s. The food that we ordered was very good. The staff was nice. John has a good sense of humor and is very knowledgeable. I enjoyed my cheese omelet, but found the hash browns a little too black-peppery for my taste, although they were nicely browned. My daughter enjoyed the leftovers that I brought home for her. One of my sons liked the chocolate chip pancakes he ordered. They tasted a little different than some of the ones that he's gotten, elsewhere, but they were good. They came, as ordered, w/ sliced banana on top. My other son really enjoyed his turkey club sandwich. I loved the cole slaw that came with his sandwich! Some of the best I've had!!! We would definitely come back! The only problem is that parking is rather limited. Lots of trucks were parked there, so it was difficult to find a spot, even though the diner, inside, was pretty empty.

Got to like an old funky diner with good food. Truly a family run friendly icon from the past. Mom and her Son John are friendly and talkative ( sit at counter or table up front) or if you want some privacy, take table in back. Not for everyone, but we loved it

Just what I was looking for ! An amazing traditional Diner! Tucked away between a few roads is this charming Diner. Although a little faded you can see the amazing attention to detail and love this place has had. I stumbled across it when looking for an alternative to the drab corporate hotel breakfasts . Charming hostess and great value home made food. An amazing step into Americana

Couldn’t have been happier with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, coffee & service. And I’m picky! The decaf-coffee was good too.

We were a group of 10 in town for work training. We wanted breakfast before heading to the airport. Surprisingly, it was had to find a local spot that opened before 7am. The diner wasn't too busy when we arrived just after 6. The waiter was prompt and took all 10 orders without writing them down! Everything came out perfectly. Not one mistake! The food was delicious with very large portions. Just what we needed for our last meal in NJ. I would definitely eat there again if we are in the area.

You must google and read the history about this place as puts it a lot better than I possibly can. Great food and coffee and staff with a wicked and excellent sense of humour.

Our family went to The Macys Day Parade in NYC but stayed in Hasbrouck Heights. We took the bus back from the city and walked through town without finding anything open for dinner. As we walked back to our hotel we passed Bendix Diner which appeared closer but when my husband called the owner said to come and he would make us something to go as they were closing and had Thanksgiving dinner to go to. We walked into a dark diner and ordered deli sandwiches. After talking with the very personable and interest owner we realized he was blind. This took a while because he was so adept at getting us drinks and bagging up everything for us. His sons made our delicious dinner in the back as we learned life lessons from John the owner. He has raised three amazing boys by himself and runs the diner in spite of his disability. His oldest son who just graduated from Harvard and was home from Boston where he now works brought our food out and graciously met us. The food was perfectly delicious and as we ate it in our hotel we all decided that this was our favorite thanksgiving, as unconventional as it was. If you are ever in the area it is a must stop place!!

Am looking for a local diner to go to since I just moved to the area, and found Bendix on Yelp. My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday at around 10:30, expecting a wait for Sunday brunch but it was actually pretty empty. You can tell that the diner has been around for ages because everything kind of just looks run down. I was craving hash browns so I ordered some with cheese and a side of Taylor ham. The hash browns are just those hash brown patties and not the shredded kind and it was so greasy. You’re better off buying a pack from Trader Joe’s and air frying it at home. The Taylor ham had a weird old taste to it. My husband said his breakfast platter of hash browns, corned beef hash, and eggs was also just meh. I don’t think I’ll be back for breakfast but some of the paninis sound pretty good so I might give that a try. Also our waiter, John, was super nice, so at least that was a nice part of our breakfast.
