I had not been to Bangkok Garden restaurant in many years and a friend came into town and wanted Thai food, so I recommended it for dinner. We had a wonderful dinner with good food and wonderful service. We had the Spare Rib appetizer that...was excellent. The ribs were so moist and well-cooked and had the most delicious spices. We devoured those quickly. The Shrimp Pad Thai was delicious and so well spiced. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the dish was excellent. The Lemon Chicken dish was good, but we thought it would be more like the Chinese version. It was sauteed and a bit dried out. The sauce was very good and gave it some moisture, but the dish was just good but not great. Overall though the food and the service were very good, and I will be returning in the future. The meals here are always consistently good.More

Massaman curry is very flavorful

Stopped in on a Sunday at around 1:45 for a late lunch when I was craving some Thai food. I found Bangkok Garden Thai nearby and it had pretty good reviews so we decided to check it out. There were still quite a few tables...dining there at the time. I went with the classic pad Thai with chicken. It was pretty standard. However, their condiment caddy helped. It had chili sauce, and pickled Thai chilies and we ate most of that. Portions are a tad smaller than most Thai restaurants. Hubby had the jumbo shrimp massaman, which was crispy shrimp with green beans in a coconut curry sauce. Though pricey, this dish was good. I really liked the sauce and ended up using some on my pad Thai. Green beans were a bit undercooked but I liked how they used it as a raft for the shrimp, so that it wouldn’t get soggy. Not sure I would go out of my way to come back here, but it satisfied the craving. Tip - the restaurant is located on a pretty busy Main Street , so your best bet for parking is the street behind, and you can cut through the back of the restaurant.More

Hackensack Thai powerhouse

An authentic family Thai place, from the tacky decor to the golden shrine in it... massoman curry, papaya salad, tom kah soup were great. They ask you how spicy you want the dishes, 1-10... 5 is for western spicy lovers, 7 is a burn, don’t...go over unless you grew up in Asia!More

Best pad Thai

I picked up pad Thai with shrimp in a hurry. What a surprise! Some of the best Pad Thai I ever had. Excellent!

Great service and food

We went for dinner last night as a family of all adults. The staff were very polite,attentive ,helpful and provided quick service..not sure if it was because it was a Monday though there were other patrons too. The place has a nice ambience.It is street...parking.We ordered chicken satay for appetisers.Papaya salad was excellent. Pad thai,and panang curry and shrimp curry was also delicious. The servings and prices were reasonable. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area.More

Solid Thai

Fair prices and great food made for a good meal. If I was back in the area, I’d return as the green curry was excellent and the prices were fair.

Thai Food at its Best

Lovely atmosphere enhanced by traditional Thai pictures and items.Polite service. Great menu and everything we have had has been fresh and delicious.Been here for almost 29 years which says alot!!!!!!

Flavorful and excellent service

Came here with friends. First Thai restaurant in Bergen County. Very nice atmosphere. A lot of seating too. We had Pad Thai. Very good but seemed a little oily. We also had the massaman curry which was flavorful and plentiful. It was really good. Friends...had a beef in gravy dish that they loved. Slices of beef that were tender. The service was great. Four dishes with tax and tip was $80. Tip: Parking is street parking with meters. Tip: takes reservations.More

Best green curry ever!!!

I love their green curry so much. It’s simply the best. I’ve had better pad thai and pad see wu at different restaurants (I would recommend a restaurant called Tam yum Koong for the noodles- 10 minute drive from this place). The lunch special is...such a good deal. I always get an egg roll and it’s so yummy!!!!More

One of my best Thai experiences

This happens to be my cousin’s favorite Thai joint. So a visit was very much on. And I loved it! The tom yam soup was good, but not the best. The fried rice was gr8 and one of the best I have experienced. The prawn...red curry with its good portion of bamboo shoots was awesome. The chicken volcano flambé was a treat to watch and eat. We opted for 6/10 spice factor and this was quite spicy. I would not risk anything higher. Enjoyed the mango and rice cake dessert too.More

Some of the most flavorful Thai food I've had.

In town for business; looking for a good Thai dinner. This place had high ratings, so gave it a shot. I use Pad Prik Pao (Pad Pai Gra-Pao) as my Thai yardstick - and theirs was certainly among the most flavorful I've tasted. Also tried...the Pad Pineapple Nam Prig Pao, which was outstanding. Terrific Thai!!!

I've been here twice for dinner and both times the food was great. Seating is quick and service is prompt. All meals are well seasoned and fresh and use authentic Thai ingredients. I like how the servers ask you how hot you would like your...food on a scale of 1 to 10. If you like a little heat on your food then go with a two or a three anything above that is very spicy. Nice atmosphere. Street metered parking. I Will definitely go back.More
